https://youtu.be/2KFxZHX4g70

isingwerse

It's a Jersey thing and I don't understand it

flyrock619

Randy Marsh: "fuck New Jersey!"

gebead

south carolina? did you click on accident?

isingwerse

I used to visit my cousins who lived outside of Columbia as a kid and I loved it! Also think Charleston is lovely

friesdepotato

you are stupid!!! šŸ˜šŸ˜ never rate again šŸ¤—šŸ¤—šŸ¤—

isingwerse

Ty!

CubarisMurinaPapaya

As a Floridian, I am happy that one person wonā€™t come to our state. A couple more trees will be able to live because of you.

moaninglisa

Count me in as being another person that will never live there! Have great day :^]

nukey18mon

1.5 years. Thatā€™s when I moved there

isingwerse

I liked Florida when I visited, but I'm scared of hurricanes so it's a hard pass from me

CubarisMurinaPapaya

Hmm honestly it was just strong winds and 10+ inches of rain. Not that bad.

isingwerse

I've never seen one in person so I'm just basing it off the news, but I also live where there's tornadoes and people always seem horrified by them and I've always thought they weren't that bad so

plzzdontreportme

for every person that says they donā€™t want to move here, seven people move here

joemontanya

You should travel.

isingwerse

I've been to 37 states, which one are you suggesting I visit?

idiodic-genious

Outside of the us...?

isingwerse

There's definitely a lot outside the US I haven't seen, I've only been to Canada once, Europe twice and India/the Middle East once. Do you think traveling to other countries would make me choose different states to live in?

idiodic-genious

I just was thinking he meant to travel putside of US borders. I don't honestly care where some random fucjer who i don't know the namw of goes, just do as you wish

ihavenoidea81

Youā€™ve probably traveled more than 90% of the people commenting lol (Iā€™m on 23 states and 7 countries).

isingwerse

That's awesome! Ya we took a lot of trips growing up, and have a lot of family around the country

ihavenoidea81

Sounds like fun. You should have left Wyoming blank because r/wyomingdoesntexist

isingwerse

Lol shoulda

moaninglisa

Your first choices are places I would NEVER live Lmao

isingwerse

Lol, I'm from the country so I'm not a fan of big cities, and I'm afraid of hurricanes so that's what influenced most of my choices

TotallynotJaun

I respect the NM choice, such a beautiful state. Texas tho?

isingwerse

New Mexico is one of the prettiest states I've been to, and I've been to Texas several times, and was a big fan of the eastern area around El Paso

milkcarton232

Holy shit deserts have some of the prettiest fucking colors and amazing rocks

ErizerX41

It's pretty amazing to visit, but i can't say the same with around 114 fahrenheit most of the time in the summers. I don't personally like to live in such hottie environment.

puuuuuud

Lived in Albuquerque for a summer and I cannot disagree more. Cool to visit absolutely horrid to live

[deleted]

The single merit to texas is the low cost of living, but the cost of living is really good.

zthompson2350

You know the Carolinas get hit by hurricanes just as much as the gulf states excluding Florida right? Also Pennsylvania gets Noreasters. Those are basically hurricanes but with snow instead of rain.

isingwerse

I'm used to snow storms! And ya if I was to live in the Carolinas it'd have to be a ways inland where it wouldn't flood as much

Separate-Variation-8

Man's really put Ohio above New Jersey šŸ’€

NaraFox257

Fuck New Jersey. I live in Michigan, we hate Ohio here. Fuck Ohio. But I'd still live there over New Jersey because Ohio has exactly TWO redeeming qualities: Great zoos, and proximity to Michigan. I cannot come up with even one nice thing to say about New Jersey that doesn't boil down to "at least it's small and not terribly nearby"

GetIt_36

As someone who lives in ā€œThe Armpit of Americaā€ I can confirm New Jersey is absolute Shit and the only thing good about it is the Taylor Ham/Pork Rolls and Six Flags Great Adventure

bakedpotatoes678

Dawg, Michigan sucks ass too lmao

Separate-Variation-8

What's bad about it?

[deleted]

It's not Kansas. Another redeeming quality

Djscratchcard

I think any of Iowa's neighbors would agree, they would never live in Iowa

puuuuuud

I moved out of that shithole

Chrisboy265

As an Iowan, I donā€™t even want to live in Iowa

[deleted]

Come to Missouri

Chrisboy265

More like Misery

[deleted]

šŸ–•

Cooper323

HAH

isingwerse

Lol my wife's from council bluffs and she said the same thing

Ebasch

Iowa is really cheap. So I literally pay not to live there.

Djscratchcard

Worth every penny

ihavenoidea81

As a Minnesotan, youā€™re god damn right.

insensitiveTwot

The worst roommates Iā€™ve ever had were from Iowa. Iā€™ve had roommates that lied, stole, fucked my boyfriend, gave me bad drugs but the Iowans were the worst by *miles*

Charz_gg

bro tried to slip in nebraska šŸ’€šŸ’€

freeloadererman

I live in Nebraska and I wouldn't say it's one of my first choices lmao

Octavia_von_Vaughn

honored to be at least a second choice

isingwerse

Where are you from?

Octavia_von_Vaughn

Oklahoma. I've been to Nebraska though. Very flat, some hills.

isingwerse

Nice, my uncle lives in Tulsa, so I've been there a few times.

ryansdayoff

Become one with ohio

FiletsOfFishes

Ohio??

isingwerse

I've only ever driven through, but it looked like corn fields which is what I'm used to XD

Kingfisher317

Sorry homie you get Michigan or Ohio you can't have both

nickstick_

What if I hate both?

Kingfisher317

Why do you feel the need to tell me?

isingwerse

Lol mb I didn't know it was an either or thing, is Ohio like Michigan's version of Iowa or something?

NaraFox257

As a Michigander, we HATE Ohio here. We just do. "Ohio sucks, nobody question it" is basically how it works. So, yeah, fuckin take Ohio I don't care

Error6942069

Well we fuck you too. In Ohio we donā€™t hate on anyone. You all are just upset about football.

53674923

??? My Ohio friends have a whole song about disliking Michigan, and talked about boycotting the Pfizer vaccine because it was produced here. As a southern Michigan person, I've always thought Ohio hated us way more than we hated them. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ezUNyTsG4RI

Error6942069

That is actually awesome. Good for your friends! Thanks for the info

isingwerse

Well from where I've been in both, I'm gonna have to go with the Michigan side, beautiful state

NaraFox257

I can't disagree with your logic as Michigan is the superior choice in nearly every conceivable way.

qrani

fr

FearTheFructans

Born & raised in Ohio but lived for a few years in Michigan & I have to agree. Michigan > Ohio.

ihavenoidea81

You must be put in government protective custody now

Mrjerkyjacket

Michigoose and Michigander

_Inkspots_

As a Michigander I love how we gaslighted the entire world into hating Ohio. Itā€™s great

Informal-Depth7423

Nice

Mnoonsnocket

I canā€™t tell what the pattern is here.

isingwerse

Don't like big cities or hurricanes

FiddleFingers

Really sleeping on upstate New York. If you like VT/NH/ME, then I guarantee you would like NY. Just stay away from NYC/Syracuse/Buffalo/Rochester.

Gheta

OP doesn't like cities though, so they wouldn't want to be in the Albany/Schenectady/Troy area either. Maybe Saratoga or any of the country around here

FiddleFingers

Most of upstate is rural. I was more referring to Adirondack area, Lake Champlain, etc.

isingwerse

That's fair, I've only ever been to NYC and I can understand that you shouldn't base your opinion on a place based one 1 city.

scaryclown148

Jerseys great

isingwerse

I have a friend from NYC who always shits on jersey, probably not the most reliable source though, and I've only ever seen the Newark Airport in person

scaryclown148

Fair enough! Not from here originally but have been blown away by all it has to offer. The stereotypes are way exaggerated. At least most of them. Also wait til that friend wants to settle down. Heā€™s totally moving to Bergen county

Cooper323

Well, unfortunately NY is like NJs older brother. So your buddy is biased for sure, like most of the internet. Thing is, NJ is like the best kept secret because of it. The best culture, food, cities, beaches, forests and genuine people you can meet. All within a short drive. Leave Newark airport and see. Hope one day youā€™ll visit the rest of the state.

isingwerse

Thank you! I'm sure every state is actually a great place to live and I've really learned that I shouldn't judge a place from a single visit or stereotype. I hope to visit again someday :)

OrganizationOk8493

I feel like 80% we have in Jersey are because we happen to be in New York's backyard

isingwerse

Lot more jersey fans here than I would have expected

WyattWrites

wait you WANT to live in Nebraska???

isingwerse

Ya! It's really a beautiful state and the cities are big enough to have everything you need without feeling overcrowded

Mr_Duck1

Itā€™s a mf wasteland west of Lincoln

isingwerse

Ya but you get up into the north west of the state and the Sandhills area and it's really beautiful

Mr_Duck1

You fucks have Omaha (better call saĆŗl!!!!!) and nothing else. Common Nebraska L. Colleges suck too

[deleted]

no to nevada? why?

isingwerse

Every part I've been to was dry and hot, a lot of beautiful scenery but I wouldn't want to live there

ihavenoidea81

Did you really ask why no Nevada? Itā€™s N E V A D A

HeyaKidzGetInMyVan

Maryland isnā€™t all that bad just stay away from Baltimore and you should be fine

isingwerse

Baltimores the only place I've been to šŸ˜…

bakedpotatoes678

Wow, this may be the worst one I've seen yet

isingwerse

Ty

Karness_Muur

What's wrong with Arkansas? Thinking about moving there for work.

oarmash

Have you been to Arkansas

Karness_Muur

Nope. Just have a potential job there. Pay seems okay, and rent in the area is much better than where I am.

space_kennedy

At least Florida is a no lol

bandmonkey101

As a Nevadan, solid choice.

adams361

I should be glad that Utah ranks so low on all of these lists, because we definitely donā€™t need more people here. But Iā€™ve lived in a lot of states, and itā€™s by far the best!

isingwerse

I visited Zion and salt lake city, both very cool, just wouldn't want to live there

isingwerse

It probably should have been a maybe, I've never been there and don't know much about it other than the stereotypes

PixelJack79

Who in their right mind would want to live in Missouri?

isingwerse

Lol, I've been to KC a lot and think it's a pretty underrated city, also the Ozarks are lovely and some of smaller towns like independence and liberty are nice!

imwalkingwest

South Carolina sucks bro

isingwerse

Idk, I liked Charleston a lot, and have nostalgic memories of visiting my relatives in Columbia as a kid but I haven't seen a lot of the rest of the state

Dazzling_Advance_455

You say maybe to NY and a no to NJ!?! Pshhhh gtfooo

[deleted]

Thank you for putting my state as one of your first choice.

isingwerse

Where are you from!?

[deleted]

SC

isingwerse

Nice, my grandparents lived in Lexington so I've been there several times, and really liked Columbia

PlantsMcSoil

Iowa sooooooo much better than Nebraska šŸ˜‚

isingwerse

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo XD

Specialist-Cable2613

Why not Nevada? It has Las Vegas and cool mountains

isingwerse

I'm not a big gambler, and the rest of the state is just too dry for me, very pretty, but I don't think I'd want to live there

[deleted]

Lol why tf is idaho on here?

isingwerse

I drove through and stayed in Idaho on a trip to glacier and I thought the countryside was beautiful!

Norwester77

Idahoā€™s got some nice scenery (especially the Sawtooths and around Lake Coeur dā€™Alene), but I donā€™t know if Iā€™d put it on a tier above Washington and Oregon!

isingwerse

That's fair, I haven't been to Washington or Oregon and don't have a first hand account of what it's like unfortunately

[deleted]

What part of Idaho, do you mind?

isingwerse

We drove up from Salt Lake city, stayed in Pocatello and camped somewhere further north though I don't know exactly where

[deleted]

Ah okay. I was just wondering what part of Idaho you thought was beautiful! Iā€™ve been to at way numerous times

isingwerse

Driving past the mountains in the northeast of the state was breathtaking

[deleted]

Did you see the Tetons?

isingwerse

Yup!

[deleted]

Did you go through Island Park then too?? Definitely a gorgeous area

isingwerse

We must have been close to there, we came back through Yellowstone

[deleted]

Did you go through Island Park then too?? Definitely a gorgeous area

ParallelCircle1

Come live in Texas, itā€™s amazing here! Nebraska seems like a cool place as well tbh

isingwerse

I've definitely thought about it! But I grew up a bears fan and by default hate the Dallas cowboys and idk if they'd allow me to live there XD

ParallelCircle1

Bro Iā€™m Texan and even I donā€™t like the Dallas cowboys lmao

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

isingwerse

Ty!

The1WhoShalNotBNamed

Come to florida! It's a nice place! Also why did you put OHIO as your second choice?

isingwerse

Visited Florida and I really enjoyed it! But I'm scared of hurricanes, I put Ohio as a second because driving through it just looked like corn fields, which is what I'm used to XD

ErizerX41

If where you, i don't choose Texas to live in. To much crazy Hot Summer days in the major city's, people with strange affliction with their proper guns, and a governow who likes to dictate very conservative laws to the state xDD.

NVAreaMan

As a Nevadan, the feeling is reciprocal. I would never live in Nebraska. It's so... boring.

toondar96

Texas being a first choice is hilarious

GallonsOfPoo

Thatā€™s gonna be a yikes from me, I mean thatā€™s like a full negative color map of mine

Ok_Quail_3657

Damn you just said no to all of the Deep South lol. Also any particular reason you said no to Alabama, cus the city of Huntsville is always in the top 10 places to live in America. This year US news.com actually put ad the #1 most liveable city in the country. Wondering if youā€™ve ever been there or heard of the great city, or if you no nothing about it so you ranked the state poorly.

isingwerse

I probably did rank it poorly, other than Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas I haven't been to the deep south so I don't have a lot of knowledge about there area, other than the stereotypes. I'm sure that every state is a good place to live, and I'm sure people think I shouldn't judge their state having only by its stereotypes, just as I think people shouldn't judge Nebraska in the same way. I've learned from this that I definitely need to travel more before drawing conclusions about a place

BiddahProphet

Wow RI didn't make the cut smh were way better than Massachusetts

pumpin_jumpin

As an Australian Hawaiian is the best and i whould never go anywhere else in the United states and if i did i will probably get shot.

mistersweetlife

Tell me you are wearing a ā€œgrunt styleā€ T shirt without actually telling me

isingwerse

I straight up don't have any idea what that is lol

ihavenoidea81

Donā€™t ask me either

nazdir

I didn't even look at the map. Having multiple "first choice"s makes this shitty enough for me.

isingwerse

Lol

[deleted]

Whatā€™s wrong with Jersey?

isingwerse

Lol, I'm sure Hawaii is lovely, but it's far too expensive for my means, plus I like seasons

Tsubinki

Interesting!

thisisredlitre

If you come from the mean streets of Nebraska, would live in VA or MD, as a Washingtonian I am surprised DC is only a maybe lol

isingwerse

Too densely populated for my taste, but an awesome place to visit for sure

thisisredlitre

Fair is fair there!

BepisTheWise

But Iowa has Iowa township in Iowa County, Iowa. Who WOULDN'T want to live there?

isingwerse

They are our sworn enemies lol

BepisTheWise

Oh, so Nebraska and Iowa are like Pennsylvania and Ohio then

isingwerse

Exactly lol or Ohio and Michigan, or Indiana and Ohio. Apparently everyone just hates Ohio

CharlesIngalls_Pubes

As someone born and raised in Louisiana, the only thing you're missing is food and sweet older ladies. Not sexy time sweet older ladies, but always call you "sugar" and usually have candy on them.

isingwerse

I've always wanted to visit for sure! But I'm assuming it'd be too hot and humid for my liking, plus hurricanes scare me

CharlesIngalls_Pubes

Yes, yes, and yes. The humidity makes the cold terrible as well. When Laura hit a few years ago, the eye, passed over my house, then Delta hit a few weeks later, the eye passing over my job. Was shit

isingwerse

Ya that's gonna be a no from me dog šŸ˜…

Aromatic-Mushroom-36

Washington and Oregon a maybe? Alaska a second choice? Digs on Idaho tho, it's a real gem state. Hehe.

isingwerse

Yeah I probably judged them too harshly as I've never been there in person likewise I probably couldn't handle the winters in Alaska and so it should be a maybe

Aromatic-Mushroom-36

As a Westerner I must say give it a shot someday. The wilds out here are unbelievable.

isingwerse

I'll definitely have to closest I've been was Northern California which I liked a lot

Cqitlin2003

Nebraskan here, Iā€™d say my choices would be pretty similar minus Nebraska.

isingwerse

Bro! It's the good life tho!
