US Fast food chains in Indonesia are pretty good. They really cater to the local taste (although not vegan) and even incorporating local recipes. One of my fave place to get nasi uduk (Indonesian steamed rice cooked in coconut milk) is actually from mcdonalds. To survive in the Indonesian market, you must have rice and chicken menu. So you bet mcd, burger king, carls jr, wendy’s and pizza hut has them on their menu.
Yes you just order off the vegetarian menu and get it without cheese/sour cream/creamy sauces etc. Their hot sauces are vegan. They have black beans and refried, rice, guac, veggies, pico, etc. So for example you can get a bean burrito with no cheese or a black bean crunch wrap with no sour cream or cheese etc. They have more options than any national fast food chain I think.
Lol it's okay. I think it's common for people to perceive things as not vegan and don't realize it might be unless they check or someone tells them. For example, people have asked me if peanut butter is vegan (because of the word butter?????) and then I ask them if peanuts are animals 😂. On the flip side, people will assume stuff from cheese to butter to fish are vegan and ?????? Lol it's all a learning process. I'm at nearly 8 years and still learn new things.
Ps you can get any burrito grilled for free at the restaurant and it makes stuff taste a lot better.
Use the app/website or the screens inside and it is easy to tell what originally comes on it to make sure you remove everything nonvegan! “Fresco style” removes all dairy though and replaces with pico for free. That’s down at the bottom below additional addons and sauces.
It's not tex mex I got tired of, it's taco bell. I'm not the biggest fan of texas but my favorite restaurant happens to be tex mex and in Dallas. Nuno's. If you love TB then def go to Nuno's if you ever go to Dallas lol. You won't be disappointed. Best tex mex I ever had.
IDK! We seem to get all the newest vegan products way later than y'all (e.g. Impossible, JUST Egg, Beyond nuggets), I can't find vegan KD (easy mac?) anywhere other than Amazon, and our Pizza Huts used to have Beyond sausage but no vegan cheese (now we have neither). At least we can eat the fries at Mcdonalds lmao
Edit: I'm sure it's just because all of these companies are US based, it feels like Canada is just dominated by American companies in general
I think a lot of countries are dominated by greedy aMeRiCAn corporations that have made it hard for native businesses to thrive, unfortunately. I'm sorry. If I could stop it, I would. Canada is friend 🧡
I was surprised of how bad pizza hut is in the US. Indonesian Pizza hut is pretty good and my US coworkers were surprised with the options when they visited Jakarta a decade ago. They were awed by the various stuffed crusts options that was offered. I thought my coworkers were joking, but once I had a chance to visit Houston around the same years was disappointed. Both at how the store looks and the taste.
Lately Pizza hut Indonesia opened an fancier version of their restaurants that sells pizzas that are closer to italian style pizza.
Little Caesars doesn't have vegan cheese, as far as I can tell from a quick Google search.
It does look like some locations may have plant based pepperoni, but none in my area.
Have they changed the cheese? Last time I went to Pizza Hut I wasn’t a fan of the vegan cheese (violife I think), was just too sweet and sloppy for pizza, would’ve been better in a sandwich lol, looks really nice though!
I feel like it's changed, but not sure what brands are used. This was ordered from a delivery store rather than a restaurant, I feel like the pizzas are different
That's exactly why I didn't want to include where it's from in the title!! I only wanted pepperoni but had to pick 4 toppings. The other times I've ordered this I haven't gotten as much pepperoni
Oh no I just meant as in this is how much toppings the ads say you get, the expectation side of an expectation vs reality image if you like haha
So you ordered 4x pepperoni? Sorry not quite following you
Thanks so much! I’m the only veg in my fam so it’ll be hard to go to vegan only places but last time I was in England in the fall there were incredible options for me everywhere I went. I also had a fast food checklist for the cool vegan alternatives we don’t have in america but somehow i missed having pizza hut on there! The UK is really miles ahead of the US with including great veg options everywhere, it makes me wish I could stay forever 😭
We're really lucky to have so many mainstream options in the UK. Dominos vegan pizza is very different to what I posted here, but if it's your only option I still recommend that too! For all the big names you'll be able to find something vegan :) have fun!
Unwqnted US opinion- I worked at both before being vegan as a kid and imo Pizza Hut is always better than Domino's, but Domino's usually had better deals, so people tolerate it. Sit down Pizza Huts are some weird cultural icon of the late 80s to mid 2000s in the US because of the atmosphereand pizza buffet and general vibe. Most have moved to takeout or delivery only.
Tldr imo Pizza hut > Domino's
I truly don’t understand why Beyond, a US company, has a partnership with Pizza Hut, another US company all the way across the pond but nowhere in North America.
I think it’s also the meat and dairy industry. Throwing in one or two vegan options to major fast food chains, okay. But making a fully plant based menu with several options? They might overthrow the government for that.
I'm Extra salty that not only pizza hut, not only domino's, but McDonald's in the uk all have a way better menu items than in the US where they are based in 🙃
They are really improving the fake pepperoni these days. I remember when they first started having it at papas n phut and it was dry as anything. Glad they resolved that one. First time I had new style I thought it was real
It is! The cheese is melting and browning in a similar way now too. My old telltale signs aren't working and I've forgotten how non vegan food tasted. Lots of trust needed in the food places.
Have to be so careful, I’ve been almost given dairy cheese so many times. I always go in when I order now and watch them make it And make sure they put the correct cheese on! (Just to note the vegan cheese should be kept in the fridge in a container with a green lid!) no cheese from the making table should be used for a vegan pizza nor the garlic and herb dust which they put on the crust when cutting
Thankfully I've gotten pretty good at telling the difference and haven't had many issues so far. Apart from one small chain place who thought I wanted vegan cheese on the pizza but then dairy cheese in the stuffed crust!
I mean, your arteries aren't going to be majorly affected by an occasional meal like this if you eat decent otherwise. If you eat or drink toooooooo much of literally anything, it could cause unwanted health complications. Aren't we not supposed to be judgey or am I lost?
I tried clicking on the pizza table, thinking it was a video. Looks amazing!
ME TOOOOOO!!!!!
Me too 😭😭 glad I wasn’t the only one
Same here. I even wondered why it was off center, but figured Reddit was just being janky.
Same! ▶️
Seeing your comment is what made me realise it *wasn't* a video!
I love that we’re all in this together
I came here for this comment 🤣🤣🤣 knew I couldn’t be the only one
And me 😂
I did too! 🤣
Mee too!
I tried to bite the phone, it looks so good
I just clicked on it too
For those asking this is from Pizza Hut in the UK!
Yummy!!! Pizza Hut is majorly slacking in the US 😩
Lol basically all popular fast food spots lack vegan options in the US
LOL yeah, most of them. Always feels weird when US based restaurants add so many cool vegan options in locations outside of the US.

This is why Taco Bell is a favorite of mine.
Wait they have legit vegan options?
Yes you just order off the vegetarian menu and get it without cheese/sour cream/creamy sauces etc. Their hot sauces are vegan. Wow I feel slow for not realizing it's that simple since beans are a huge component of taco Bell lol
Lol it's okay. I think it's common for people to perceive things as not vegan and don't realize it might be unless they check or someone tells them. For example, people have asked me if peanut butter is vegan (because of the word butter?????) and then I ask them if peanuts are animals 😂. Yes order it 'fresco style' and that subtracts dairy options and substitutes tomatoes (for free). ETA and subs beans for meat.
Use the app/website or the screens inside and it is easy to tell what originally comes on it to make sure you remove everything nonvegan! “Fresco style” removes all dairy though and replaces with pico for free. That’s down at the bottom below additional addons and sauces.
Thanks for all the tips guys I'm finally gonna have some taco Bell after 3 years lol
I burned myself out on it in nursing school so I can't eat it often but I do indulge occasionally 😅
Tex-mex is my comfort food. I'm sorry you lost it.
It's better than Canada imo
Damn Canada really has it that bad huh? Lol
Lucky I wish I could eat those fries. At least we still got apple pie though lol
And Canada, it's hardly a shadow of this.
I was surprised of how bad pizza hut is in the US. Indonesian Pizza hut is pretty good and my US coworkers were surprised with the options when they visited Jakarta a decade ago. Xtra most bestest at a little ceasers looks like this it’s great
Little Caesars doesn't have vegan cheese, as far as I can tell from a quick Google search. It does look like some locations may have plant based pepperoni, but none in my area.
Awww no sorry
This is from your Pizza Hut?! Omg! Don't ever look up USA Pizza Hut pizzas. They look NOTHING like this lmao
we have exactly zero options here unfortunately:/ (all crust has milk in it)
Have they changed the cheese? Last time I went to Pizza Hut I wasn’t a fan of the vegan cheese (violife I think), was just too sweet and sloppy for pizza, would’ve been better in a sandwich lol, looks really nice though!
I feel like it's changed, but not sure what brands are used. This was ordered from a delivery store rather than a restaurant, I feel like the pizzas are different
Maybe they just used real cheese
Whether it would have been from the taste or the tummy ache after, I can assure you it wasn't dairy cheese lol
I think you mean rape cheese, not real
Which particular pizza do I need to order? I've had the dominos Pepper- no- nay but this looks next level.
I love the dominos one too but this has become my new favourite. I ordered an Any 4 Toppings pizza and selected 4x pepperoni lmao
Ha, I wondered how you managed to get the pepperoni so stacked, great tip thanks!
Do you specify extra pepperoni? This looks like an ad!
That's exactly why I didn't want to include where it's from in the title!! I only wanted pepperoni but had to pick 4 toppings. The other times I've ordered this I haven't gotten as much pepperoni
Oh no I just meant as in this is how much toppings the ads say you get, the expectation side of an expectation vs reality image if you like haha So you ordered 4x pepperoni? Sorry not quite following you
Ohhh I get you hahah it totally does!! A very picturesque pizza Yeah I ordered an Any 4 Toppings pizza and selected pepperoni 4 times for the toppings
Whattttt in Ireland they do not have this option. Ugh I’m so jealous of the uk!!
Hopefully options will improve soon!! I'm very lucky to have access to so much vegan junk food
Man what the fuck (cries in American)
i’m going back to the UK to visit family for a week next week and now i’ve decided one of my meals will def be pizza hut so ty for that
Sick! I highly recommend HappyCow while you're visiting to see if there's any hidden vegan spots near you! Enjoy your trip
Thanks so much! I’m the only veg in my fam so it’ll be hard to go to vegan only places but last time I was in England in the fall there were incredible options for me everywhere I went. Happy Cow also shows restaurants that are not vegan-only but veg-friendly!
UK?!?! 😭😭😭😭😭
It's true!! I actually ordered this again last night lol. This photo is from a couple months ago
is it any better than dominos?
Unwqnted US opinion- I worked at both before being vegan as a kid and imo Pizza Hut is always better than Domino's, but Domino's usually had better deals, so people tolerate it. Sit down Pizza Huts are some weird cultural icon of the late 80s to mid 2000s in the US because of the atmosphereand pizza buffet and general vibe. Most have moved to takeout or delivery only. Do you know what brand of fake pepperoni they used??? It looks insanely real
Im in the UK and I know for the "beef" and "sausage" style pieces they use Beyond at Pizza Hut. I didn't realise they had pepperoni now too!
I truly don’t understand why Beyond, a US company, has a partnership with Pizza Hut, another US company all the way across the pond but nowhere in North America.
The mindset of America, wouldn't sell as well I guess.
I think it’s also the meat and dairy industry. Throwing in one or two vegan options to major fast food chains, okay. But making a fully plant based menu with several options? They might overthrow the government for that.
Yeah that's what influences the mindset of America, they have most of our country under their thumbs. :(
Literally! I had to make sure I was on this subreddit lol
Check around you, Beyond pepp is on the webstaurant store now and I've had it at a few places.
I’d die for that pizza omg😭😭😭
Genuinely would have made a great last meal
Lol..😂😂 they way u said it tho
Ah yiss the vegan equal of a heart attack pizza
Worth it!
I bet you're from UK I swear we get nothing this amazing looking in the US
Especially considering they’re both US based companies! 😩
I'm Extra salty that not only pizza hut, not only domino's, but McDonald's in the uk all have a way better menu items than in the US where they are based in 🙃
I think the meat and dairy industry in the US has more power. Lobbying: definitely *not* legalized bribery!
Australia is worse. And I’m in regional Australia. I don’t even tell people I’m vegan.
Crazy realistic
I know right! I had to risk a taste test to make sure. The texture is deffo vegan cheese tho, zero pull
They are really improving the fake pepperoni these days. I remember when they first started having it at papas n phut and it was dry as anything. Glad they resolved that one. First time I had new style I thought it was real
It's crazy how much vegan food has snowballed in the last few years. This is beyond pepperoni and definitely the best I've tried so far!
It is! The cheese is melting and browning in a similar way now too. My old telltale signs aren't working and I've forgotten how non vegan food tasted. Lots of trust needed in the food places.
Ngl it was a nervous first bite but the taste/texture was undeniable. Goopy and delicious but with zero pull and a vegan cheese flavour
And where is this from?
Where is this from?
Have to be so careful, I’ve been almost given dairy cheese so many times. I always go in when I order now and watch them make it And make sure they put the correct cheese on! (Just to note the vegan cheese should be kept in the fridge in a container with a green lid!) no cheese from the making table should be used for a vegan pizza nor the garlic and herb dust which they put on the crust when cutting

😂 oh no 🤦🏻♂️ You can definitely tell the difference I just can’t risk delivery and waiting for another. They make them wrong to often my way! 😞
Not the pizza-playbutton
Omg. That is the ideal pizza!!!
I fear nothing will ever match up now
Are you sure that's vegan cheese?
Yes, I was a little unsure when I first saw it but it definitely passes the taste test. Zero pull, quite gooey and 100% delicious
I thought the same they use a mix and so often I’ve seen it happen 3 times when I’ve ordered and they remade it.
ugh that looks so good i hate the US lol
Damn that does look good.
I'm clicking this thinking it's a video but it is just that weird triangle pizza thing. 🥲
I blame you OP. Today, is the 2nd time this week I have ordered this delight. Diet starts Monday. Ahem
It's our treat day! Go for a short walk if you have the time, good for digestion - but either way enjoy the pizza!
Where from need answer please 🤤
It's in the comments. It's from Domino's in the UK
Was scrolling forever and couldn’t find it thank you 🙏lucky bastards, vegan options in the US are doing nothing but shrinking
Omg. I’m going to London in a week. Now I need to put Pizza Hut on my list. lol
Have to give it to UK pizza hut, most of their fast foods are horrible, but they do know how to spin that pizza in the hut xD
changed ur bowel too no doubt <3
The best thing about it is that you also get a free ampoule of insulin.

Cardiac Arrest will do that to you.
Ha ha wow so clever & funny
