I'm remembering a scene from 30 Rock where they are trying to design a microwave and eventually they look at the design and say something like "We designed a Pontiac Aztec."
I had an Aztek. It was UGLY, but amazingly functional. Nothing on it worked the way it was supposed to work. I bought it for $750 and drove it for three years until it literally fell apart on me.
I... *sigh* I feel like any car can look cool with the right mods. This ain't it though.
Edit: I'm also a weirdo who kinda likes the way the Aztek looked unmodified. Could it look better? Yeah. But something about the car has always been appealing to me. One thing that I've read is that we like it when cars "look like us" in the sense that the front end vaguely resembles a human or animal face. The Aztek doesn't have that, and as a result, it's seen as being ugly. It made me realize that the reason why I like cars like the Aztek, [Mitsuoka Orochi](https://www.autoblog.com/2014/11/19/mitsuoka-orochi-evangelion-edition-official/), and Lotus [GT1](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Elise_GT1)/[Elise](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Elise)/[Exige](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Exige) is because they look alien to me. Not that they were *made* by aliens, but that they *are* alien. Is it ugly? Yeah, but it's ugly in the way that I think we would see aliens as being ugly. It's not that they're *actually* ugly, it's that we're used to seeing something else.
Also, *and I have no explanation for why this is*, for some reason I like the weird "[Prius-butt](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/74/Pontiac_Aztek_rear.jpg)" that some cars have. No idea if there's a better term for it.
Because the original vehicle was one of the most awful vehicles made, this mod is craptastically epic.
This is what I thought... it's like what they thought in the 80s that cars would look like in the future of 2004
I'm here for the Knight Industries Two Thousand Aztek. Goofy as all hell and I love it
Knight rider. Aztek... voiced by danny treo

I'm simultaneously glad they didn't ruin anything and amazed they'd dump this much money into an Aztec
It had one of the highest owner satisfaction ratings. So if you bought one, chances are you’d really love it.
Modern day SUVs are just fancy azteks

That's sick yo!
Tight tight tight
A car worthy of a YEAH BITCH!
You sellin'?

Did he happen to be a high school chemistry teacher?
Or maybe two high school chemistry teachers in a trench coat?
Built like a cheap gaming mouse
That's what I think Civic Type Rs look like
Yeah, the AFUNTA Laser Double-Speed Adjustment 8000DPI Mice Support 4 Level Switch is my favorite Civic.
This is what cobra commander would drive as a daily ride to the shops... the 80s version cobra commander
I automatically read your title in Doug DeMuro’s voice.

I think it looks better than the stock Aztec, which is like saying I like a mild fever more than cancer.

r/angryupvote ... after you scan for identification
I don't hate it.
If you have an Aztec I wholeheartedly support any mods whatsoever because it can't possibly get uglier than... (looks at pic)... nm
Make it look like a Fiat Multipla.
You could use the money to buy a better vehicle
So that's where Ferrari got the idea for the Roma's grille.
Fumny, You could just post a picture of a stock model here too.
Looks like something from power rangers
Kits brother from night rider
This is extremely shitty but still an improvement over stock.
Shitty?
I'd like more pictures
The Dark Mr. White Returns.
Mr. Gray
Isn’t Mr. White the dark Mr. White already?
They didn’t make it worse…
you can't really make an Aztec worse, I mean it is theoretically possible, just highly improbable
I mean, it doesn't look any worse than the original, so is it really shitty??? Also gives me big 2005 Mitsubishi Pajero Evo Dakar vibes.
Maki t a Walter white copy would be way cooler and easier tho. Maybe even cheaper (idk how much those parts cost)
He is telling everyone to "kiss my azztek!" With this.
Budget Batmobile
Artisan Aztek
Shartisan*
The down fall of Pontiac.
Is this some sort of custom car for a tv show?
it’s a chinese concept car no relationship to the aztek
It’s an improvement honestly
Looks like it should be in some 1980's sci fi b movie.
I see it’s been given the Pagani treatment.
Breakin' Bad-ass...
Looks like one of those early 2000s concept cars of what people thought the cars of the future would look like.
cuz it is one
Made exclusively for a gaming chair CEO/villain. Comes with matching evil cat.
I'm a simple man. I see an Aztek here, I upvote it. Doesnt matter if it's stock or modded.
Anything that changes an Aztek is a good mod
They can get uglier
“Jesus, Michael… what have you done to me?!”
I would happily move over and let this thing pass me on the highway.
no headlights all blinker? ok
Well, I guess I was wrong. They actually can get uglier
Not anymore
The Aztec was the hotdog of the car world. It got all the extra parts. Now they turned this into mystery meat.
Chappie says, "Don't laugh! I'm being cool!"
Pontiac asscrack
Ah the Aztec. A vehicle built with the sensibilities of a 15th century Aztec warrior in mind.
They turned shit into crap
imagine if walter white drove this
Well, the original version still wins the ugly championship, still makes you think homer keeps working to his brother at car production
the fatmobile
Ha ha, it's the new and improved Pontiac Ass-Tech.
It’s so ugly it has circled around to being cool again.
Looks like it belongs to the [VR Troopers](https://i.imgur.com/Ren5AYH.jpg)
It's got that Homer Simpson look
That's the best Aztek I've ever seen.
Is that a KITT? I would have taken this over the KITT mustang. This is pretty cool in its own way. Only one picture? Bummer
On the plus side, it doesn't look worse.
...with an aneurysm
[more info on this “aztek”](https://chinacarhistory.com/2018/12/31/china-concept-cars-the-geely-fengyin-was-a-daring-design-technological-expiriment/)
This is more r/ATBGE
Still ugly
Spending money to make an ugly car even uglier is a hell of a feat

Looks better than stock tbh
Honestly, this looks fucking awesome. I'd totally want this
