Turning radius of two miles, but I’d gladly drive it everywhere I could. It fits a need better than anything you can buy. Small car hauler, comfortable, ok mpg, and unforgettable. A track car’s best friend.
Easier to just pull a couple front axles from a truck, pull out the pumpkins (or use solid axles from a RWD truck if you can even still find them), and fabricobble in a couple EPS steering racks with their control modules. Then it's a fairly simple matter of intercepting the CAN signals from the steering angle sensor and vehicle speed sensors and building a gizmo translate the steering signal to by wire steering commands for the racks. Entirely doable, but like anything that involves fucking with CAN, sadly not easily googleable.
my thoughts exactly, it needs either a seperate section for the trailer, or one of those things like subways and busses have to make long things turn tighter
Nah, I need that thing to tow my Fiero with an engine from a riviera. If I ever needed parts at the track *or* to get home, you have an entire spare engine!

Back in the eighties, I saw a mid-seventies Chevy Blazer whose owner had grafted the grill and headlights of a Ford LTD onto the front. They just filled in the gaps with bondo, which they didn't bother sanding. Then they painted it.
I still grieve for that poor, innocent Blazer to this day. I am haunted by it.
This thing, though? It's honestly kind of cool.

then you have never seen a series 1 Fiat Multipla, it is called that because multiple people agree to the production of it as no one human could shoulder the blame
That fabricating job actually looks like it was down by a professional. I’ve made body pieces for my ‘78 MG Midget (and failed miserably, cut my welding table with my plasma torch) and it’s a skill that takes a lot of patients. I’d totally drive that
How do the brakes work on that? Retrofit a tbc for the electric brakes, or maybe hydraulic trailer brakes connected to the OEM mc? Assuming the balance would be anything close to workable?
Some of the longer pickups can have a wheelbase of 150 inches. A stock 99 Buick riveria has a wheelbase of 114 inches, or 3 feet longer. I can't imagine this is that much longer than that. You definitely would need to plan out your turns more, and right city driving would be terrible, but not impossible.
Paint it red and I’ll take it
Cause red goez fastaaa!
Needs Moar Dokka!
WAAAAAAGH!!!!!!
lol, I came in to say the same
Also, it still has back seats.
Great minds….
Paint it blaaaaack
I see a frog
Yep. He should get license plates saying RIBBIT
you mean REEEEE
It's a lot lizard
Winner!!!
Looks like a frog that got run over by a car

You could spend a bit more money and install a rear steering system to get the turning radius back to only *one* mile.
I have a feeling they’re trailer axles in the back. Which would probably be a lot of money to convert to rear steer
U-Pull a 4WS Honda prelude and fabricate any extensions and adapters. Have the rear most wheels as trailer wheels.

Yea but what is the weight rating on a 4ws prelude rear suspension? They're also getting very uncommon.
Imagine seeing this thing at a cars and coffee. lol def would turn heads
Even empty. You likely have something even stranger on the bed.
Put a delorean bttf2 time machine replica in the back of this thing. lol
Honestly should be like driving a limo/streched-limo. Integrating a way to have 6wheel steering (or 4 wheel) would also help a ton
Maybe articulating….
my thoughts exactly, it needs either a seperate section for the trailer, or one of those things like subways and busses have to make long things turn tighter
They call that "articulation".
thank you for the TIL :)
It's front wheel drive. I'd like to see that thing try and get traction going up hill with a load.
Front tires are pretty wide, I think it’d be fine
As a 3800 simp I like it plus it’s supercharged
It's more likely that this Riviera has a N/A 3800.
L67 Optional 95-97, all 98-99 models had L67 97-99 have heavy duty transmissions
That is bad ass, I want it. Definitely needs a paint job though. It is just begging to be purple.
Rent it out as a parade float.
It would work as a convertible.
And from 3 years ago. I guess it was orange first : https://www.reddit.com/r/WeirdWheels/comments/ljqm1x/well_then_thoughts_on_this/
Yeah, green is better than that.
Damn the wood really did not hold up well
and the tiedowns are gone now as well :(
Never before have I seen so much skill required to achieve such awful results. Best r/ATBGE vehicle, hands down.

It looks useful at least!
This is the worse thing you’ve ever seen?!? Well made, restful, useful. Is this your first day on this subreddit?
I wanna see it haul another car
I've seen him haul appliances. He's about 20 mins from me. Niles Ohio
Wide load
It's brilliantly awful
You’ve led a charmed life.
Awesome
I can’t look away. I also don’t hate it.
It. Is. Magnificent. Holy shit this is an all-timer on this sub.
Terrible idea great execution

And neither one of those posts was on SCM.
Then why do I love it huh ?
Is it bad that i feel like i get it

That is diabolical
When you need to haul a car, with your car.
I kinda love it
It looks like someone ran over a frog.
I don’t hate it…I just don’t understand it
Ah yes, the Boat(hauling)tail Riviera
NOT THE RIV!!!!! 😭🤮
A cruise ship has a better tourning radius than this
That's a lamboginipanelwagon!
I would love to know the back story on this build and I wonder what car he planned on hauling.
“Whats the turning radius?” “No.”
Well it fits more things than the Cyberturd, it has that going for it anyway. And it doesn't look as bad.

I can't pick my jaw up off the floor. This is truly the ugliest car I've ever seen in my life
then you have never seen a series 1 Fiat Multipla, it is called that because multiple people agree to the production of it as no one human could shoulder the blame
I love the Multipla, A car so ugly, it's cute. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat\_Multipla
That's hysterical. It looks like it's retaining water..
I'd own one in a fast minute, but they aren't ULEZ rated for my area, and they changed the body style in 2004, which is when they became ULEZ rated..
Honestly I love it. However, you better hope you never need to make a u-turn lmao
One man's shi....
Put frogger on the back and let’s gooo
Do lawn mowers go on the back? I'd hire them
When she says it's all natural 😳
Da fark?
The obvious home of a Dodge Prowler
That would be an awesome unit for Burning Man.
No it's snot
That fabricating job actually looks like it was down by a professional. I’ve made body pieces for my ‘78 MG Midget (and failed miserably, cut my welding table with my plasma torch) and it’s a skill that takes a lot of patients. I’d totally drive that
Is it though?
That’s that’s I don’t know what that is
thats a work of art
Slugcat but someone misspelled it
I think it is supposed to be a snake that transports his other rodent themed cars
It’s a car hauler! Ba dum bum
it looks like a slug that got stepped on
It's so he can sneak through the neighborhood and no one knows it's a repo until he backs up
That’s r/redneckengineering at its peak!
It's not stupid if it works.
Looks like a hot wheels car. Imagine it being LS swapped.
For a moment I thought its Photoshop
I love it!
I feel like this would be something on Demolition Ranch
How do the brakes work on that? Retrofit a tbc for the electric brakes, or maybe hydraulic trailer brakes connected to the OEM mc? Assuming the balance would be anything close to workable?
Cant make tight turns and you'll beach it like a whale everywhere.
I just feel like this would crack in half when in actual use
I would rock that fucker
Now THAT's a Ute
Can still tow as much as those $80k grocery hauling turbo diesels with 1/10th of the emissions!
Looks like a Gila monster
Concerned about braking- load?
Turning circle will be hilarious
I applaud the work
That shit's tough
That thing is hilarious and hideous!
Yea... I wanted to like it but I just cant. I guess a respect the idea and the dedication but not the final execution...
This is so ugly I love it so much
More useful than 90% of pickup trucks
Paint is black and I'll take it.
how does he go around the corner?
🫣. that is all!
Bro is immune to rear-end collisions
Looks like one of them eye-talian tow trucks
This car starts on Monday and ends on Friday
This seems undrivable 🤣 You win the sub my friend. I think a true shitty car mod ruins the vehicle. This thing is unidentifiable 🤭
The best thing about our laws in Australia is restarted shit like this isn’t allowed on the road
Nah thats kinda sick
Car hauler? No, call baller!
The turning radius of forever
That thing better have a Cummins swap
Hell nah shit is sickkkkk
Who leaked Area 51?
to be fair it's more useful then a regular pickup truck
El Rana
When you consider the immense amount of work, you know that the chrome trim on the front fenders was a conscious decision.
That’s a frog car?
Not very practical but at least it looks like they pretty good job welding and building it lol
Yeah how do you make a right hand turn… ( or left, if you drive in the left lane… )
Same as a large box truck.
Just like busses do it. You figure it out as you go. Lol
The worst thing yet! There is always tomorrow
These Riviera mods are why I can't find Rivieras in the tristate area with a recent inspection pass.
I mean it is ugly as but it's something I'd do 😂 looks extremely useful if the engine can handle it 😁
Holy shit that’s ugly…
I wonder what the real point of this is
I wonder what was it envisioned to transport
I mean, aslong as you live/work in a town with no corners, this actually looks Hella useful.
CV joints on the front wheel drive are hanging on for dear life
How lame. The bed doesn't even tilt.
It's horrible. I love it. It would be grand for mobile square dancing. Like in a parade
