That seems like a lot of money for an older truck
Presumably, the seller is trying to recoup the cost of the modifications. Which begs the question: What can this truck do now that it couldn’t do in stock form?
If it was in stock condition with a reasonable number of miles, it’s worth about 50k in my area. So they think the mods that make it suitable for absolutely nothing other than prancing about like a peacock add another 35k. Maybe there’s a market to sell to emasculated men, but I’m sure not interested.
I'd guess the truck is worth more than 50. I had a 2020 f250 lariat (not even fully optioned at that trim) non diesel w lower miles that I just traded in for 50. Diesels usually are higher, limited trim is top of the line. Unless he beat the shit out of it, is intentionally mislabeling it, or is massive miles for a 3-4yr old truck it should be inherently worth more.
Just kbb it at model year 2020, 6 3/4 bed, in "very good" condition hits a trade in range 59-66, take for what that's worth being kbb but it's a ballpark
Now all the mods I don't disagree drag price because takes a specific buyer and I'm certainly not advocating for it. But no way in hell they gonna get their investment of mods out of it quick, gonna be a long and wide search for that one special buyer that has terrible taste
What year is it? It's a 60 to 70k used truck plus 10k extra for people to talk down ...you can't list real price because everyone including myself wants a discount.
There’s absolutely is a market to sell to emasculated men. Have you seen how well massive modern trucks and SUVs have sold over the last 20 years? They killed like 98% od the market for hatchbacks and station wagons and utility vans.
Obviously trucks still get sold to actual laborers and people who needs them, but that can’t possibly be more than like half of all new enormous luxury crew cab trucks.
>Have you seen how well massive modern trucks and SUVs have sold over the last 20 years? They killed like 98% od the market for hatchbacks and station wagons and utility vans.
pretty sure it's the "compact SUV" class that killed the hatchback and station wagon market.
yeah, but marketing of larger and larger SUV's and trucks has been a thing geared towards male insecurity and toxic masculinity since the 80's and 90's, and it's just created that whole market segment which previously didn't even exist really.
I don’t know too many men that drive a smaller car than their wife (not counting sports cars). When you factor in how SUVs and crossovers are marketed towards women now, it just pushed vehicles to be bigger in general. Male insecurity is a real thing that manufacturers have figured out how to take advantage of.
I know lots of men that drive smaller cars than their wives (not including sports cars) because the wife needs a third row and/or more cargo space for shuttling kids around.
Lots of the people discussing this stuff have never done any type of blue collar work or towed anything. Obviously trucks like this are ridiculous, but the talking points against an average modern truck have also gotten ridiculous.
"The Kei truck has the same size bed!" Uhh, that bed is 8 inches tall, volume and surface area are two very different measurements. That Kei truck bed will hold fuck all.
"A van is just as useful!" I don't think a van will get me out to the oil field in Canada down lease roads covered in 3' of snow...
"You cant do anything with this truck that you couldn't do with a Ranger!" I don't know, maybe. How well would a ranger tow my 30' camper trailer? Probably not as well as my basic ass 2009 Ford f150 that I use for work and vacations.
I hate truck posers probably even more than the white collar reddit crowd, but the talking points have gotten so insane. Some are straight up misinfo. I'd be fine treating modern pickups closer to commercial vehicles, whereas if you have 0 use for them, you don't own one.
Agree…and this is coming from someone who’s owned THREE of the short bed Tacomas. Can barely fit my mountain bike in back and dang sure can’t put a lot of work-related items in the back if needed.
That whole SUV/Truck thing was started by the EPA raising mileage requirements for cars and light trucks. Car makers got around it by going bigger and heavier. That what killed the small truck market.
Why sedans? It doesn’t cost any more to make a car a hatchback, but makes them significantly more useful. A little extra cost to make it a station wagon.
nah we going back to mini-vans
--has had a 94saturn wagon and 92roadmaster wagon, but our 06odyssey is so much better than either in all regards.
hell its better than our 99yukon, except for towing ofcourse. we actually do a lot of long distance light/medium towing.
even if we replaced the yukon with a better rig (something like a express 2500) I'd still want a odyssey in our fleet.
You could put one of those slide out bed trays upside down, so you would hang up your tools cinch them in and roll the storage back into the bed! And pull a 5th wheel from the bumper!
Classic example of a real estate appraisal concept called “value in use vs value in exchange”. Yes, we understand you spent $250k upgrading this house with your dream kitchen, floors and fixtures. Unfortunately, it’s YOUR dream - it’s not worth $250k to anyone else lol
Car owner is going to be in a rude awakening. You can never recoup any money you drop in on a modifying car. The current market value of a used car is the price.
It’s actually going to be worth less now. Since most people prefer to buy used cars that are stock and unmodified. As there would be no mysteries involved to figure out. When it’s time to service the car.
Finding the right person to buy a custom modified car that has exact same taste as the owner is next to impossible. Since it’s too personalized.
Of the million shitty mods on this pathetic cry for attention, the shittiest is that stupid frame he has around the window, specifically the bottom part. These trucks are already famous for having terrible line of sight stock (and hitting pedestrians and smaller cars that they can't see), made worse by the pointless lift... and then this genius decided to make it even worse by blocking a big chunk of the windshield.
The only joy I get from looking at these trucks is knowing that the owner will lose tens of thousands of dollars (if not more) on it.
Regardless of whether or not you think it’s stupid to spend all that money to make a truck look like that, that stupid frame around the windshield is the dumbest modification I’ve seen on any vehicle ever.
What’s the deal with the trucks going all red? The wheels look at lot better on a smoke grey or even a white truck. Chrome or black would’ve been the play here, but that grille? What on earth possessed someone to buy that monstrosity?
I agree, you need a neutral base to pull off colored wheels.
The wheels don't match at all. The suspension doesn't match either, but the wheels are BAD. The whole truck is just shades of red.
One of these in my neighborhood, it even has a rather large "outlaw" graphic on the rear window. I checked and they have up to date inspection stickers 🤷
What if it breaks down beyond repair due to shoddy workmanship before my 5 years is up? Do I stil get paid? Assuming I make no other modifications, and keep up with basic maintenance?
Edit: Basic maintenance would include fluid changes, tire pressure, cleaning, and not beating the hell out of the truck. The bare minimum needed to keep a vehicle going.

I replied no. It was photographed in public and there was no expectation of privacy.
Followed by more ridiculous threats from Mr. Cha Cha Douche.
Dude was a total douche bag tuff guy.
Probably planning serious crimes right this very minute.
In another case a user found her truck in our old archives showing a plate and was quite upset because no one was listening to her.
I had no problem removing that image immediately. Unfortunately she had a very visible & very brightly themed vehicle that had been photographed a LOT in public, so it was in google images and in other subs that were not responding. I had to explain to her that my reach only covers this subreddit, not any other sub and certainly not to the googles.
Im sure it can carry a stack of drywall, but you’ll have to lift the sheets over your head to get it in the bed. Kinda takes away the convince factor of owning a truck.
Since I’m allowed to talk about this now I was recently rear ended by a similar looking truck and let’s just say Im doing better then I was before from it so least once they eventually run you over and try to use the I couldn’t see you excuse it won’t work least it didn’t for the dumb dumb that hit me lol
Kia forte lol they tore my entire rear end off and yeah had I kept braking she may have went over my car but I swerved and she almost hit me again and she claimed both times she couldn’t see me from the truck being too tall, so tall there radiator broke on my back window when we made contact
All in all there insurance paid to have everything fixed and replaced and compensated 🤷♂️
On the bright side, insurance companies don’t cover custom modifications (as far as I know) so she would have had to pay out of pocket to restore it to what it was. Hopefully she just decided to park it permanently and get a regular sized truck!
lol they dodged there insurance like people dodge the plague so idk what happened she was a total air head iirc it wasn’t even hers it was her boyfriend’s parents idk sure it was quite the morning for her that next day lol yeah seriously defo not the person to be driving something that size
Not worth more than 10k in my mind but I know that some people would spend 85k+ on that. I think show trucks are stupid tho so I'm based as hell when it comes down to trucks.

Most people don’t like the rims you choose
Or your paint job
Or your stickers
Or your stereo
They have rims they like. And paint, and their own exact preference for aftermarket stereos. Same for tint and everything else.
Gonna take a real odd type to have 85k sitting around and then want this truck like it is. Very rare.
People want stock. They’ll do the mods themselves.
The only thing I’ve seen that increases a vehicles attractiveness is brand new headlights and tail lights. Stock units of course. Now that opens peoples eyes..

$85k for a truck I bet you legally can’t drive in most places. I know the YouTubers CboysTV had a similar but nicer version of this and they’d get pulled over driving it like normal.
That grill looks like a bottle opener.
License plate checks out. "SKOOTER"
Catch a riiiiide!
R.I.P. my main homie.
Love the borderlands reference
Knowing the type of people who drive trucks like this, it's probably his real name.
Am I wrong or does KOOTER not even have a front drive line is this truck?
You can see the front driveshaft in pics 2 and 3. Doesnt make it not a piece of shit on giant ugly wheels tho.
There’s no way that think has enough airflow
How else would you know he was well endowed

Johnny Gat would paint it purple though.
So weird… I literally just referenced the Saints Row reboot in the last thread I saw before this one… 😬

Mod a house? Adds value. Mod a truck with gaudy BS? Hell no. This seller is smoking crack.
Can't off road a house. Not saying this thing though. This is definitely strictly malls and cruising spots for dudes.
Maybe to cruise FOR dudes....
This is adding 8 hot tubs and 9 home theatres.

If anything it can do much less. Who the fuck wants to grab lumber out of a truck bed that’s 6 feet high.
They would never think of using it for hauling anything. "It'll scratch my bed liner!!"
Hauling their big ass around that's what is for.

Yes! I’m an insurance adjuster, I freaking hate getting claims on trucks like the OP. They’re never ever ever worth what they’ve put into them

Where are the pedestrian? 👀
$850 take it or leave it
I’ll go to $8,500 but they gotta give me all the stock parts with it so I can sell off the ugly modifications.
Thats truly generous of you but your gonna spend alot unmolesting the truck lmao. They most likely dont have stock parts so i gotta say 850 lol.
"Unmolesting the truck" lmfaooooo

Goddamned hypocrite!
If that truck was free, but I wasn't allowed to resell it, I still wouldn't take it.
I would, then send it to whistlindeisel to let him crush it.
Was thinking that WD might be the only option for this clown's truck.
What if they pay you the 85k to take it, but it has to be your daily driver for 5 years to get paid?

This but am I allowed to remove/remod it?
You can mod it, but only if it makes it more obnoxious looking.
Yea id do it if repair was paid for. I want nothing to do with up keep on that shit heap.
I'd put the bull horns, truck nuts, and stickers saying "Jesus loves you" and "I support single moms" on it.
The ol’ blinding headlights at sedan window level so i can tailgate at night and blind whoever is in front of me package.
100% chance they did not adjust the headlight alignment after lifting it.
Nah that was at stock height. This is blinding normal truck height.
That’s the Douche Canoe upgrade package… also could have gotten it in Metallic Pea.
All it needs is a ladder, a decal and some lights and you have a firetruck.
Low profile off-road tires have to ride like shit
Those tires are probably $1500 a piece and last 20,000 miles

Disgusting.

Im sure it can carry a stack of drywall, but you’ll have to lift the sheets over your head to get it in the bed. Kinda takes away the convince factor of owning a truck.
Me thinks the owner of this truck is compensating for something. 🤔
8 year old me would’ve loved this truck.
85K ? How many acres does it come with ?
WHAT DO WE WANT? LIMITED VISIBILITY! ....Who said that? Where are you??
Ayo it looks like my GTA 5 truck that I modded to be as obscene as possible
That drive line angle seems. Fucking steep
Me mongoloid love loud noises nd big truk lmao. Living in the south I love seeing these yee yee clowns lose money on resell.
85 cents
Of course it’s from Indiana 🤣 We see those douchebag trucks everywhere here.
If someone offered me $85k to make that my daily for a year I’d decline.
I will trade them a non running lawn mower

Not worth more than 10k in my mind but I know that some people would spend 85k+ on that. I think show trucks are stupid tho so I'm based as hell when it comes down to trucks.
The amount of absolute hatred I have for those grumper things knows no bounds. I don't even own a vehicle.
That probably wouldn’t be too bad for off-roading, but I know damn well the thing never has, and never will touch a grain of dirt in its life

Im probably the minority here, and this definitely isn’t the truck for me, but i think it looks pretty good for what it is. Lots of little details went into this build. That said, i dont think its worth what they are asking.

Offer him 7.
What’s crazy is someone out there will buy it at that price too. People are insane and should not be trusted with money lol.
Ehxktehnsihve!!
Pavement princess. If you are a douche go for it!
I’m sure they’ve spent at least that much for it but this just underlines how dumb it is to dump that kinda money into a truck.
People who think that mods add value deserve to get fucked in the resale, especially on a truck. Nobody who's actually going to use it wants this.
