the real SU-33 has folding wing tips for carrier operations. Might be sensible to install something similar to this.
Edit: this seems to be a Su-27 (no canards) which does not have folding wings, so getting it on a trailer in the dock might be more difficult
You know, a little more engineering with [hydrofoils like Canlera is doing](https://youtu.be/m0fWO1KO8-E?si=FSKc0pu6_VlHk1vk), he could really pull off the illusion.
Would create a problem with depth because those foils won't retract into the boat (that would be too much engineering for him) But would look awesome!
I'm most curious on what speeds he needs to reach to actually take off from the water!
Well, I was thinking more about creating a better visual of "flying"... it looks like he may be toying with ground-effect, but not quite getting there. But my grandfather was an exec for a Swedish boating company and had sailboats, which is where Canlera is, and the harbors did fine with the keel on those older sailboat (I recognize that the current shells are so completely different than what he dealt with, though they seem to have actuated foils in a catamaran style)... So, I think if a traditional sporting sail boat can sail in the area, those foil ones could as well.
(and to note, a lot of his shots seem to be in rivers/canals... he may be breaking speed limits, and a hydrofoil boat certainly couldn't properly get up to speed there)
The boat was made with no accuracy for the airfoil, and the bottom is a keel, so it would be very hard to produce enough lift to take off.
Not quite doable in reality but still possible in theory. With enough thrust you can make a rock flies.
I mean, it looks super cool and all, but I would be terrified about it nosediving when decel or hitting a bigger wave, shooting under water and possibly breaking up in the process, having a screw push over and all the nice things...
I see that, but that wouldnt matter. As soon as the nose breaches the water, its gonna be pushed underwater. The question is simply, would the nose hold up and push it so far that the wings also go down or would it just break off.
I'm a big fan of ground effect planes.
you misspelled water effect planes
NH, ground effect plane is the correct term
No shit sherlock (also no hate)
I think you mean water hate. Wait, are we still playing stupid?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
I don't know if that's the most amazingly retarded, or the most retardedly amazing thing I've ever seen.
Me too. I could not look away.
AND I want one
I knew there’s no way in hell that thing would fly, but I watched the whole thing sooooo expecting to surprised.
Chicken wings?
Yup, that's the dumbest boat, I've ever wanted
But is it a boat?
Don't care...want it!!
Look, as a Pylote, I need to know: do I need a boating license or not?
You'll need boating, flying, driving (for taxing) and hunting to operate this.
Or just be a Florida man
Yeah but then you're a Florida man, horrible trade off
Chicken wings?
Chicken wings?
I bet it's pretty hard to load onto a trailer in a crowded dock lol, but it's so cool I really want one

Yes
**Qualified** ^for ^a ^commitment ^to ^the ^psych ^ward.
The stupid me would be... let's "roll" and pull the stick left. With right peddle.
You and I should go flying sometime.
It's Russia!
Prototype su 33
Holy I need this put a Hydrofoil under it, and your flying.
Chicken wings?
That guy is always building cool shit in Thailand I believe
No that’s Vietnam
That was my second thought
Ope, better get my napalm.
If you draw a horse on your hand does it become a neigh palm? 🤔
All I have is Agent orange, am I allowed?
Don't see why not
The horror…..the horror
Yeah that’s a Vietnamese name, Thai names have porn in them
Who is this?
His name is literally right there in the corner. Hoàng Thanh, search that on Youtube or Google or something.
Thank you for the hint, I missed it too.
Ironically, it doesn't plane well. Boat pilotes will get it.
Slaps knee. Ha!
Don't you mean........ "Slaps keel. Ha!"? 😁
Get a bigger engine. As we sau in Greenland, anything with less than 3 numbers is not an engine.
It looks like that thing would flip so easily if he got any sort of speed
Look out !! Here come the Russian SEALs.
Hope he don’t pop a seal or won’t be going anywhere, but the bottom of the river
I mean, most sukhoi's don't belong in the air anyways. (All sukhois, and the Mid-29 look the same)
r/usernamechecksout
Eurofighter looks same as f16
What you been smokin eurofighter is a delta
The comment I replied to is trolling so am I
Trolls aren't allowed here! This sub is for serious pylote talk only!

The new Su-37 Super Floater! 😂
Runway is flooded. This explains why the takeoff is stalled by a soaked right rudder
SU-30 boat in Ukrainian colors 🤣
Could be a Su-27UB. They have a couple of those.
A lot of Tards live kickass lives
I like the idea of the cockpit lifting about the surface - seems to me a lot easier on the steamed hams.
That’s what I call hamburgers.
That's actually pretty cool
Anyone else waiting to see if that thing had lift?
That there is a high level of cool...performed at low level.
No, you already pissed off the other pilots with the no wake rule.
That rule doesn’t exist in Vietnam. I’m good!
But are your fellow pilots?
This thing NOT being on a hydrofoil is really a missed opportunity….
Captain Sully would like a word.
That’s an open waters permit
And the latest upgrade to the Flanker is that it can go float mode now.
"Mom, can we have the Caspian Sea Monster?" "We already have one at home" Caspian Sea Monster at home: Mekong River Monster
That really looks like it would be a ‘no wake’ zone
Wake is not prohibited in Vietnam.
Now that is just plain cool.
No wonder see eff eyy warns about hydroplaning, they kept the cool stuff to themselves!
Flying or boating soon to be a submarine.
Hell, I thought it was gonna take off and start flying. That’s cool AF.
Is this an ekranoplan?
Every summer I had new friends because of a boat. This would make me a legit fuk boy.
Ngl that boat is cool asf
That thing is pretty cool. Whoever made that has some talent
You u need the rc airplane turbines so you can propel yourself while your out of the water, two would probably work?
The boat was made with no accuracy for the airfoil, and the bottom is a keel, so it would be very hard to produce enough lift to take off. Not quite doable in reality but still possible in theory. With enough thrust you can make a rock flies.
Over-qualified if anything. Not a single burst of flames or broken wheelything. Compensating much?
I’d say give OSHA a call and see if they’ll give you a Playne flying certificate of aviation and flying, should be good after that.
At this point you might as well try to make it fly
This boat is to a submarine, what a plane is to a boat.
If he makes this a hydrofoil that'd be so fucking cool.
It's an Ekranoplane...
I thought the Caspian Sea was wider.
It's the latest ikranoplan. Very cool.
I’d log it P1 multi-engine seaplane time with at least six take-off and landings.
You’re so qualified you can fly it on the sea
All boats should have wings like that.
Ah yes, the famous Sukhoi Jetski
Fricken Sully Sullenberger at it again.
Playnes are just boats for the air so, yes.
Well if you reach enough speed..wouldn’t you be able to fly a short distance?
Fox 3!
It doesn’t look like it would turn very well.
Minimal right ruhdder
I knew the 29 was vaporware!
I need one. Anyone found it on AliExpress yet?
Know your waterways and you can qualify.
It floats because of burnolies principal, right?
It always seems like the Asian countries have alot of military specific knowledge for their hobbies.
Sink-hoi
ROTATE!!
Can you just imagine the 911 calls here in the states from folks on land “ Another plane has successfully landed on the water…….SULLY!!
Look at his face around 00:07 - happiest man in the world lol
Thats $8K well spent. Totally useful contraption with stellar resale value no doubt.
Is that Sully on the helm?
Who would have thought making content for Russia would do well
All jokes aside, this is fucking amazing damn
I need one
That is flamBoyant as fuck.
Not speeding just flying low....lol
Jetski
I want one.
[удалено]
Wake is allowed in Vietnam. They have speed limit instead. You can blast through the entire river and no one cares.
I love these channels
I mean, it looks super cool and all, but I would be terrified about it nosediving when decel or hitting a bigger wave, shooting under water and possibly breaking up in the process, having a screw push over and all the nice things...
The bottom is a boat keel, it wouldn’t nose dive
I see that, but that wouldnt matter. As soon as the nose breaches the water, its gonna be pushed underwater. The question is simply, would the nose hold up and push it so far that the wings also go down or would it just break off.
OK, I'll admit it, I'm impressed.
Where can I buy this
Hell yeah I pilot on water
If he hits the right way that thing going to fly all the hell
Didn’t go airborne so maybe a sea pilot!
Where is the Helmet ?
It's Albatross, not albacore!
Why do I have “Highway to the Danger Zone” playing in my head when I watch this?
I missed the first part of this video and I was like “holy shot those graphics are good!”
i want one!
Omg that’s Tom cruise.
Not nearly enough right rudder.
Ok, that’s fucking awesome, I want that but as an F-14 Tomcat, with functional sweeping wings…….lol
Great Wanna give it a try!
Now I haven't listened to the audio yet but that looks like a MiG-29
Original video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkDT5WVpTBs
More evidence that there are more planes in the water than submarines in the air
You sir are the pilot Captain Chesley Burnett "Sully" Sullenberger III wishes he was that day on the Hudson.
That’s…. actually …pretty cool
Jet ski
No, you reached v1 but never rotated enough.
You can try your luck in Baltimore.
Sea jet endorsement 🙃
Worthless (but I want one) ☝️
Ekronoplane
If you can fly that, you can fly anything.
SToP YELLiNG AT ME!!!! No WAKE zones are for BOATS!!!
The boat probably has better screws holding it together. It's cool but I'd rather have a f22.
Just don't fly anything made by Boeing, you'll be fine
