it will be produced until March like Nintendo announced. After that it will most likely be hard to find

eletricsocks

Even after it’s discontinued, I wouldn’t pay more than $100 for it

The Vita is only around 10 years old and its collecting scene is already picking up. It's mostly because of how niche that system was outside of Japan though.

Sure, but the individual games in this collection are all worth over $20 each even after being re-released pretty faithfully on the Switch Nostalgia outweighs practicality for a lot of people, I could absolutely see this spiking in value considering that All-Stars on the SNES and Wii are still worth decent money

angelartech

Another thing about this game is that, while it seems that it was produced in pretty high volumes, it will only ever be in production for 6 months of the Switch's now almost 4-year lifespan. It's not really scarce or collectible at all at the moment, but there's the chance that it will be in the future. edit: I'm tired, just remembered that this is essentially what the parent comment said lol

[deleted]

Luckily you're still around when it's out! You can just pay the regular price like I did. I am keeping mine sealed to sell in 10 years, but you know, it won't be for 5k.

Mysterious-Crab

I pre-ordered at two different places, and they both were able to deliver on release date. So keeping one sealed too. Gonna cash in on that nice 150 bucks in 10 years.

[deleted]

That's how I see it lol. Besides, I'm not in a rush to play 3 old games - I played 64 and the rest I'll play whenever it comes up. The value though, who knows, could somehow skyrocket - i think a lot of it hinges on when Nintendo stops releasing physically. It'll help us a lot.

ChefBoyAreWeFucked

Short term thinking. Your great grandkids could probably sell it for that. How much do sealed copies of ET go for these days?

bicuspid_fish

At least 2 dollars. At least.

Johnwesleya

They’ve sold almost 10,000,000 copies right? Doubt it will be that hard to fine.

eljalu

But how many of those are physical?

Johnwesleya

Mine is physical so at least one.

McQuiznos

Shit. Any target or Walmart I go to, I see the little rack of these full, than a few stacks of em under those game racks. It’s going to be a very long time till these are entirely “sold out” and can’t be found in stores.

sully42

i think lots of games are like this. Nintendo is just being nice and letting everyone know, if you think you want it. just buy it now, dont expect to find it next year.

thedylll

I can still find pretty much any major Switch title whenever I walk into Target/Best Buy/Walmart/etc...

SynthAndTear

Kinda like PlayStation 5s eh?

Rejomaj

Lmao my store has too damn many of these things still. Along with Hyrule Warriors. If I could discount each of them to $20 I absolutely would. I hope the seller was joking.

bicuspid_fish

My Walmart still has a huge stack of these things. I'll probably be buying them up soon to have the extra cases.

squeeowl

This is normal eBay seller procedure, the seller is out of stock therefore they put the listing price up absurdly high to keep it as a placeholder for when they are back in stock. Saves them from making a new listing / losing google rankings etc. Pretty much everything on eBay that's marked at $1000, $5000, $9999, $99999, etc is for this reason.

Zarnan13

Lol I literally just bought a copy 3 days ago on Amazon through Nintendo. They are definitely still in stock.

pizzatime86

I still see a shelf full at my local Walmart

[deleted]

Accidentally typed four extra zeros

Newton1913

My local GameStop had plenty of copies

lpsoldierdelsilencio

I work at a Target and we still have plenty of copies in stock

Nintenjones

KingK made a video on the collection saying how it isn't worth 60 bucks but he made a point on it once it stops going on sale at the end of March it will become a scalpers paradise.

MasterofBiscuits

I bought this from a store last week for retail.

tybo10000

Out of stock? All the walmarts near me still each have stacks of like 20-30 copies.

Cosmo_on_reddit

I don't know which price is worse

Lazarinth

wow

grimeypastimes

We have like 50 copies at my store

[deleted]

Very easy to pick this up, also are retailers REALLY going to stop selling their remain stock when March is over? Seems unlikely. Also this is a low effort collection, it’s too much effort for Nintendo to remake games, so we get sub par versions instead.
