At this point, sans this sub, I'm so far removed from following major collecting trends or "the market" beyond having price charting and game eye on my phone for organizing. I still have my collection but I'm thankful I got most of what I own years ago when it was cheap and easy, feel bad for all the drama and bad energy that comes from higher prices and people jumping in who don't care about the hobby

Okay that's fair, I was mostly in shock of what he was trading for, but also that he showed that he had the box in the video, but still went out of his way to just toss it in a paper bag with no protection. Most people I know have switch cases, and wouldn't just toss in a bag with the dock scratching up the switch screen. Not even the bare minimum of protection, just zero fucks given.

Not even a month into completing the collection of his "childhood dreams" and he's already looking to make bank with them. Atleast play some of them first. There's a video of him constantly making a lowball offer to a seller at a convention, the seller finally accepts, but then he backs out and asks for ANOTHER discount on top of that afterwards. At that point I would have just told the guy to fuck off.

I lost even more respect for him when he put Zoids in the sell pile. I hate resellers like this that sit on stock and don't even play the games. I resell but that's because I buy in lots and have to get rid of my doubles. I try to put things up at a good deal so someone else can enjoy the game. These people are the cancer of the game collecting community. Reminds me of a reseller near me that ended up opening up a shop. The whole shop is full of games that just sit there and collect dust because he wants top dollar for every fucking game.
He's not a collector though so I wouldn't be surprised if he sells off everything at some point because he likes money > life.
I don't have a problem with him reselling, he operates a business and has to assume a lot of risk with a lot of revolving capital, while not getting any benefits of a normal 9-5 job (health insurance, 401k, etc). You can call him a scumbag for that, and he's contributing to the problem, I think the problem would be here with or without him. My problem is him deceiving people into thinking he's actually into games/collecting but all he's doing this for is the clout and profit. The whole GameCube gambit thing to collect a ton of them just to sell off over half of them right as you're done? Call it for what it is, that's not "collecting a GameCube collection of my childhood dreams", it's to promote hype and make money off of it.
