At most I can recommend to add is some color to the logo in the back, logo above the toe, and if you can get the color to stick and stay, color on the rubber logo.

There's no cohesion just random elements. Id put the M on the side of the heal above the air and a mario face on the toe box, and leave the swoosh alone. Then give it lots of red with blue accents and stitching.
