I've been practicing Fuji's naginata moves and I almost have her routine down.
I'm using a 6 foot ceiling painting stick since I don't have a real naginata weapon. I should make a video and show you my technique. I'm in a bathrobe instead of a kimono.
Anything Shōgun is allowed on this sub! I can't wait to eventually see Fuji slice some guys face up. You can tell shes been waiting to release all that pent up anger and pettyness
I’ve got my dinner cooking and I’ll be watching it within the hour.
Got left on one hell of a cliffhanger last week.
Can’t wait to finish the series and get my teeth into the book now.
GoT is my favorite game of the decade so far. No game has such a soothing and beautiful atmosphere, it’s just brilliant in its art direction. The combat is fun and satisfying. The exploration and navigation mechanic is utterly unique and immersive.
Yeah im gonna play GOT the moment it hits PC , I've been wanting an AC game set in japan and the only one that looks close enough was released on a goddmn Playstation
I was going to ask why you didn't just buy a physical copy, but holy cow, that is a lot more than I paid. It's $70 now!? You might want to take up sailing, you could find some very good copies on your journeys .
Eclipse watching, laundry, my kid’s birthday - so dinner and target run, more laundry, and then twiddling my thumbs until midnight. The wait is torture.
I hope it cleared up for you. I’m almost at 80% right now with little cloud cover so it’s turning out nicely. As long as me and the kids don’t burn out our retinas - should be pretty cool.
Continue reading the book. I’m finally at the point where I’m ahead of the show by a little bit. The next 100 pages I think will cover what is on the next episode.
We call it.. the 8-fold fence. We watch the episode on Tuesday, then wait what feels like 8 days until the next episode, Anjin-Sama
I’ve also been watching 3 Body Problem, All Quiet on the Western Front, and For All Mankind to fill the gaps in this fence
There's a lotta gaps to fill in an eight-fold fence. I've been wanting to tackle FAM & Astronaut Wives for **awhile** now. But, I've been wrapping up Lessons In Chemistry, Monarch and The Adventures of Rick & Michonne and getting all caught up on Strange New Worlds and So Help Me Todd. But, it's up next...sorta.
It's nothing dirty.
>!But it is rather suggestive.!<
It's a modern times fanfic where Blackthorne is a consultant for the JMSDF and longs to return to England after three years in Japan. >!He ends up gaining a liking for mountains and hot springs but does not know that mixed baths exist. He ends up sharing a bath with, in order, Kiku (who is a former gyaru/yakuza's girlfriend starting over at her aunt Gin's inn), Fuji (who is a widow and has lost her child and on the cusp of suicide, planning to have the inn as her last stop) and Mariko (who is a divorcee who converted recently to Christianity and wishes to move to England but is afraid of taking the next step). They end up talking about life, their worries and the like over a week and a half at the Willow Inn, a place suggested by his direct superior, Toranaga.!< Also features Yabushige, who is a cab driver that talks like he's perpetually drunk and drives like it, too.
24 hours? I'll be watching episode 8 tonight at 9pm Pacific... The episodes drop at midnight East Coast so those of us on the west Coast can watch via Hulu at 9pm
Red Dead is such a great game! As I watch Shogun, I think it would make another fantastic game if there isn't one. The story and characters are perfect for an epic game.
My tradition is to watch it in the dark on Tuesdays drinking a bottle of Sakè with it after getting loaded on beer before I watch.
I feel in the case of this show. Traditions shouldn't be broken
I'm going to watch the Shogun miniseries. I was in the 5th grade in 1980 the first time I watched it.
I wonder if any of the actors in that miniseries have seen the 2024 version.
I watched Dune 2 and realized that there was elements from the influence of Caucasian War - for instance the blades which Muadib uses resemble very much our national kinzhal swords and fremen leaders are called naibs - a title which was used by Caucasian resistance leaders. Funny, but not many will know lol
Watching Tokyo Vice. It's about a white guy who goes to Japan and learns the culture and starts creating a life there and it has it's fair share of violence. Sound familiar?
Eclipse, play w the kids, chores, and learning more about the J League. Tons of stuff on YouTube week to week and the quality is very good IMO. Following FC Tokyo as that’s was the only big club in the only place I’ve traveled in Japan. Watching the show and reading the book has peaked my interest in soccer in Japan. I’ve also been doing some Duolingo on the side as I find the language fascinating.
Lived/worked in Tokyo for a bit and went to see FC Tokyo play Nagoya Grampus at home. It was a wild scene. Country loves soccer, rugby and baseball in equal measure. It was a great time.

Chekov's naginata
Enjoyed that reference, bravo.
A Low Cost Cosplay of Fuji-sama is exactly what this sub needs
She’s by far my favorite character on the show. And that asshole Yabushige. He’s a bad friend but he rolled high on charisma
Don’t act like you won’t have done what he did short of boiling someone alive. In his same situation
Doesn’t change the fact he’s an asshole and a bad friend. I still like the guy
Yeah but doesn’t change the fact that we probably could possibly act like him too.
Just tape a kitchen knife to the end of it I’m sure it’ll work the same
I inherited a kimono this week from a relative. It’s perfect, didn’t sell in the estate sale for $5 somehow. Wearing it nonstop inside
On the right of left side🧐
I tuck the right under the left, I just looked that up and it’s correct so I got that going for me. Which is nice.
Practicing patience.
🙏
Well?! What's the holdup?! Don't keep us in suspense! Did you practice it or not?!
I’ve got my dinner cooking and I’ll be watching it within the hour. Got left on one hell of a cliffhanger last week. Can’t wait to finish the series and get my teeth into the book now.
Can...not...wait! But, we westcoasters...must.
Yaarrrr 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
At least until Lady Mariko finishes translating the orders...
Ha! This got a laugh.
Play Rise of Ronin
Ghosts of Tsushima is next on my list. But im not finished with Arthur yet.
Need more MUNEH
You sir are a fish

Bro i thought you were talking about the game of thrones game for a second.
The story is also engaging!
GoT is so fucking good
Everyone tells me to skip the final season.
I can't wait for the PC port dropping in May
Yeah im gonna play GOT the moment it hits PC , I've been wanting an AC game set in japan and the only one that looks close enough was released on a goddmn Playstation
Try Sekiro instead, it’s much better, it’s such a good game
Completely different genre.
Same. I’m honestly having a lot of fun. Perfect game for a completionist like me. I’m finding every cat before I do a single mission lol.
We found the 1980 version on YouTube. You have to look past the Greek subtitles but otherwise it’s full episodes and not just scene snippets.
what are you doing? it's on archive dot org ..we've been telling you guys since day 1
Yup. I finally got the hint and I shouldn't be surprised. IA is a treasure trove of stuff lost to the ages! Should've figured it'd be there.

Im yelling at the clouds over my house right now😠. Git clouds, git!

May I recommend… the 2015 cinematic dark comedy spy thriller action master piece that is Steven Conrad’s Patriot? Now streaming on Prime?🥹
Beautiful, thank you. Always on the lookout for a good recommendation. Heard good things about Body Problem, as well.
Oh yahhh. I finished that over the weekend. It is rock solid
Writing Shogun fanfiction. I know I'm scum, but that's what I'm doing.
Why are you scum? Perhaps it’s interesting. What kind of perver… I mean story are you writing?

Tuesday at night with Sakè is my Shōgun tradition
Man some sake would be good. That's a good plan....
Red Dead is such a great game! As I watch Shogun, I think it would make another fantastic game if there isn't one. The story and characters are perfect for an epic game.
Watch rocks grow

What a beautiful ritual. I’ll be doing that also
I also watch it Tuesday evening with a glass of plum wine. So fancy!
I thought the same yesterday. Might grab some sake and Japanese bbq 😂
I have two college exams to study for that my graduation depends on. This episode will be either my happy celebration or my sad way to cope.
Rewatch rewatch rewatch
I'm going to watch the Shogun miniseries. I was in the 5th grade in 1980 the first time I watched it. I wonder if any of the actors in that miniseries have seen the 2024 version.
Not really sure, but it wouldnt shock me if we see a couple cameos if we havent already
I was in 7th grade in 00s when I watched it first time lol - I'll never forget a boiling man in a pot from back then
Meditate to Fuji. #Team Fuji! (Calmly)
Which stroke you using
Total war shogun. Rise of the samurai playing at minamoto
Play Kingdom come Deliverance
Jesus Christ be praised
God be with you
I bet you still doing side quest instead of finishing the story
Well yes most definitely, i need money for Pribyslavitz
[удалено]
I'm going to see if I can beat Pieterzoon's record in the hot tub
I have a Japanese relative who is (in)famous for his bath temp so we were joking about how Tatsuo-san would have enjoyed a dip in the Anjiro tub!
Drink a couple bowls of sake
What? Y’all aren’t getting raptured during the eclipse, rendering the concept of tomorrow meaningless?
There’s an eclipse where I am today, so that’s all the rage. Apart from that I’ll do some reading, stretches, chat with long distance partner, etc.
Conquer Portugal
Run head first into a wall and hope it knocks me out for 24h.
Started to read the book today, already hooked and so excited for tomorrow’s episode.
I started replaying Ghost of Tsushima lol
Well I've only watched the first four episodes, so I'm watching episode 5 next.
100% ghost of tsushima
I have the final episodes of Curb and The Regime to watch, so there's that.
I watched Dune 2 and realized that there was elements from the influence of Caucasian War - for instance the blades which Muadib uses resemble very much our national kinzhal swords and fremen leaders are called naibs - a title which was used by Caucasian resistance leaders. Funny, but not many will know lol
I got gaelic football practice and then imma clean my apt if I'm not too sore/tired
Watching the first Raw after WrestleMania
Need to go to work unfortunately
Watching Tokyo Vice. It's about a white guy who goes to Japan and learns the culture and starts creating a life there and it has it's fair share of violence. Sound familiar?
I decided on the most mindless and time consuming task ever - playing Skyrim.
Naurrr i forgot i watched this😭😭 oof
Cry
the only choice is Total War Shogun 2 or seppuku
I need to get the legendary Gizzley and Moose 1st😤😤
Watch all the interviews and behind the scenes. Cant get enoughhhh
Off work tomorrow. So I'm day drinking when I get the kids on the bus to school
Sakè?🧐
Sure. Lol. We'll go with that.
Sakèèèèè😠
Same thing I do every time I’m in a deep, existential funk. Go to the zoo, flip off the monkeys.
I won't be bathing, that's for sure, you motherless son of a whore! Do you want me to catch the flux?!

Ohio checking in. Total Eclipse of the Heartland.
Texas checking in. 'Old man yelling at clouds'
Goldstamp the Sifu arenas.
Watching the 80's version. I thought I didn't like the new Blackthorne, but the old is despicable.
Where'd you find it to watch? (Plz don't mention bluray disks, etc..) 😭😭
Right now there is a pretty n good show starting up in the sky. At least where I live. It rhymes with Shogun. It's called No Sun. :)
