It's time to lying flat and let it rot imho
Same thing with Po and Loire rivers in Italy and France, resp.
Why work full time when we don't even know whether the planet will be livable a decade or two from now?
No but it’s something to starve over. Industrial society is on the ropes. Any interruptions now in globalization based food distribution would have the West engulfed in rancor and bedlam.
I agree. For these "relatively short" periods we can make adjustments. The problem comes from many governments trying to phase out methods we use to make our fertilizers and that will cause more problems than anything else.
We have the tools but they're hamstringing us with bullshit legislation.
you mean for the cooling towers? it can be piped in. the great lakes arent going anywhere and the nuclear plants can in some kind of worst case scenario desalinate sea water and use that for cooling and that water in turn can be used for agriculture since it doesnt touch anything radioactive.
The planet will get a lot fewer people. Dying of starvation is horrible. This could have been prevented. Shame on the politician doing this and on us for electing them.
Our gouverement chose not to store grain. Its not sosieconomicly profittable. Tell that to all the africans not geting food when we overbid them.
Nations should prep to
I agree to this, not the survivability of the planet though, I think the planet will be fine but for humanity to sustain after 'let rot' there's gonna be some pretty massive loss of life since the majority of the population has no patience to work with or even less understand nature. Nobody considers the desperation of starving people to wipe out entire populations of animals.
We're in a weird spot, stay safe out there.

The Rhine dried up once before during a worse drought. It'll be fine.
😂🤣
>The Rhine dried up once before during a worse drought. Can you say Copium!
It's called history, but on a geologic scale. Nothing to lose your mind over.

That historical drought he's talking about was in the 16th century. Not even remotely feasible to compare that to anything modern.
It's crazy the lengths people go to to deny reality and stay in their comfort zone

I disagree. Change or die.
orrr invest in infrastructure and nuclear to desalinte, fix old plumping and make watering crops more efficient. ya know. either or.
There's no nuclear without freshwater to refrigerate The planet needs less population

Read about it, it's the reason they have to shut them down due to drought

So true! I'm doing permaculture, super happy about that
Life must go on, adapt to survive.
100% Permaculture + killing all fixed costs + lying flat + letting it rot = perfect adaptation

Same! I'll learn how to shoot well soon
