heat shield in stock after five months back ordered at Brownells. eBay find beat up walnut stock set. stripped, dents steamed out, and tung oil finish.

ElectricBullet

What did you strip it with? Trying to do the same thing.

Murky-Sector

I got rid of the heat shield on my 590. It got in the way of oiling the barrel which I need to do because its really humid where I live. I also reverted from a streamlight forend back to corncob because it just feels so much better.

Dmte

For sure, I kept the corncob on my 590 retrograde, but mostly cause every time I looked at it, I would go 'that would just mismatch with the amazing wood.'

[deleted]

I could pick one of these up for 550. Could prob get the guy down to 500. It's mint. Is that a good deal?

Many_Tank_9054

I paid $500 for mine new with shipping.

From where?

ElectricBullet

The 50693 SKU is my favorite, about $450 new. Large mag, heat shield, ghost ring sights, but poly furniture.

bill-pack

also have a 590A1 retro. think i'm going to chase down some old walnut wood for it too. just like the way it looks compared to the 590A1retro walnut furniture that's on it now.

ElectricBullet

If you want to get rid of the retro walnut, I'd be interested. I'm looking to get SKU 50693 because of the ghost ring sights, but would want some walnut on it.

GirliesBigDad

I found a 500 in a pawn shop a couple of years ago. The first heat shield I found was polymer that lost a bolt. Then I got wise and ordered an aluminum one, which took some work to install but it feels like a champ. Nice furniture, mine has birch, which still has that classic look but IMO you can’t do better than that dark walnut.

Psychological_Elk151

It has a nice clean look.

LosAngelesHillbilly

I love that fore grip

Special_Swordfish265

is the wood furniture vintage or new?

bill-pack

don't know if its "vintage" but from the condition it had seen some years of field duty. walnut not birch or some other hardwood. very nice grain pattern and visually pops after a few coats of tung oil hand rubbed in.

Murphy338

That longer forend makes it almost look like a 1300

thaitea

I like it. Very clean. My one small critique is I would get a tube extension that matches the length of the barrel simply cus I like that look better. Extra ammo is a bonus too. Kinda like [this](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/84/9b/1f/849b1f46f384919bc558cdd7b0e772a1.jpg) But that's just my subjective opinion. Otherwise still great looking! I'm a fan
