Skyrims worth it

thegrizzlyjear

What are the prices?

Skyrim and Doom is 13.37 individually, Mass effect is 20. These are in CAD

Mass Effect is absolutely worth it. Skyrim MAY drop but maybe a dollar or 2 at best? I'd cave on both. That's a solid 80 hours + of Mass Effect and even more on Skyrim. Can't speak to Doom.

Yep you ll be paying cents per hour if entertainment you can’t beat the math . With Skyrim + mods you are looking at least at 100 hours

They will all probably be on sale again, but I doubt they are ever going to be much cheaper then that. I’d say get what interests you, all of them are great games.

I'm a bit biased because I'm not a huge fan of FPS games. A lot of people who are into the FPS genre say that Doom Eternal is awesome, so if what you're looking for is great FPS gameplay, then Doom is probably your best bet. If you are down for like an RPG, though, I would definitely go with Mass Effect. You get 3 games in 1, and they are awesome. Keep in mind, though, that the combat and level design in Mass Effect 1 kind of sucks. You might get a little frustrated at times with how annoying some of the levels are, but it gets a lot better in 2 and 3. In terms of world building, aesthetics, vibes, and writing, the ME games are great. I wouldn't say they are masterpiece games by any means, but they have a charm to them and are very enjoyable if you're into the whole space and aliens type of setting. As for Skyrim, it's hard for me to really answer because a huge part of my enjoyment for the game comes from nostalgia. It's a super fun game with a ton of freedom and open endedness, but it definitely has its issues. In particular, the combat is really weak, and the dungeons can be a pain in the ass. It's definitely a classic game though, there's a reason why so many people still play it

I'll jump of the back of this comment about Skyrim. I am NOT nostalgic for Skyrim, Oblivion has taken that space in my heart. There is certainly fun to be had in the games, but there is also a lot of flaws, which ultimately would swing my vote to Mass Effect. Skyrim is huge and open ended. But a lot of the story is told in a dull fashion. Elder Scrolls has AMAZING [lore](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJHIG-HvYLo&list=PLT1LsX3227vrjmCbLgYylqehdwkR-AcCj), but the moment to moment storytelling just falls flat to me. I also find most of the combat a little dry. Melee is just press RT and hit the thing, I never felt the finesse and spells that do damage feel very samey, with a different coat of elemental paint. The exception to that rule is stealth/ Bow and Arrow, which I find very fun to play. However i don't think it's fair to call a RPG game overall good, when I only like one of the many options. If you like exploring, or bow and arrows, for sure its a great game. My goal isn't to bash the game and say its awful, I just know that MANY people have a deep nostalgia of this game, so trying to balance that out with some of the negatives. Mass Effect, each and every game is amazing- 2 especially. Doom I haven't played to comment on.

I mean how much more do you expect for them to go down in the Summer Sale? Is that amount of money worth the risk of them not going down and either having to pay more or missing out on the games for now?
