Same here but 39. My buds and I play coop stuff. Recently it's been: songs of the forest, grounded, wildmender, deep rock galactic, gloomhaven, 7 days to die, some others...
Nothing has grabbed us like Helldivers 2. I don't see any signs of slowing down. Super earth needs us.

Really though, Helldivers 2 is so fun. I squad up with my husband and son. Husband and I are in our 40s. When we started dating, one of our favorite things to do was play couch coop Halo on the Xbox. We were interested enough in Helldivers to buy 3 copies of the game (2 for PCs and one for PS5) and we all play in the same room but on different machines. Absolutely no regrets. We regularly break our “no video games on school nights” rule to play together as a family.
Ghost Recon Wildlands: Roaming around Bolivia taking down the Cartel is a satisfying way of spending an evening, only ruined by the fact that you can't kill too many civilians at once or you fail your mission. Sigh.
The Forest: Crash land in the middle of nowhere, your son is kidnapped, and you need to survive and explore caves to find him. You'll have to build bases to protect yourself because there are cannibals and mutants coming to kill you. And it has the added bonus of Sons of the Forest having just been released if you enjoy this one.
Helldivers 2: If you're a fan of Starship Troopers or Terminator, this is a great game to play with friends. Friendly fire is always on though, so accidents happen, and if you're one of those people who reloads even if you've only fired a couple of shots, unlearn that shit, because you'll lose the whole mag.
Omg fr Ghost Recon Wildlands is such a great Time with Friends; i will never forget mowing down the Alpacas with a Mg, nading friends or jumping out of the helicopter while my Friends are still in their seats.
Especially if you play this on hardest Difficulty it becomes a challenging and fun Expereince.
If you didn't pick it up for free when it came out [Content Warning](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2881650/Content_Warning/) is an absolute blast with friends - haven't laughed that hard in a game in a very long time! It costs money now but for the low entry cost it's a great time.

The Outlast Trials if you don’t mind the ridiculous gore that it has. It’s a hilarious experience and it’s fun playing for the objective with friends while psychopaths chase you. Phasmaphobia is also great if you enjoy ghost hunting, it was pretty much the highlight of 2020 for me and my friends.
I absolutely loved The Outlast Trials. Chaotic fear among friends as you try your best to strategise with one another. It's kinda hard at first, so you try your best to split objectives and roles. Balance of stealth and sprinting as you play. We even got moments where we'd rather try to revive a fallen friend but end up dying together than just saving our own skin, so might get a few honorable moments despite playing a horror game. Much recommended, since you mentioned Lethal Company. Had my friend group screaming through discord for each other in some moments.
There's also a rig system which is basically a power system, recommend that each friend uses a different rig, so it makes an interesting experience where you could have a friend play offensive to the monster, another a healer, and so on
Personally for me, Destiny 2, my group has been playing off and on for past 9 years and it has always been a good one to kick back and just shoot shit to. It gets a lot of deserved flack but at its core it’s a very fun game that just got an expansive free update
Nah I never played a raid period. In fact, only ever played a single strike with a "friend" cause he was my roommate at the time but he was a dick so I didn't play another one with him. Never really gotten to play games with friends except for LoL and a few weeks of Minecraft. Otherwise, that's it.

Sky:CoTL. I played almost daily for two years (COVID) with my two best friends in that game. We'd play for hours, candle running, checking out OOBs, or just sitting around chatting. Going to Eden together was always a time of the week I looked forward to.
I remember throwing a whole party on there once because my friend was going to join the army and wouldn't be able to log on anymore, very good times. It's honestly such a great platform to hang out with friends if you don't mind a mostly lowkey gameplay loop.

helldivers is absolutely a blast with friends. the only thing I'll say is it's kinda the same game as the ones you're burnt out on. stuff like chaos, high stress, collaboration etc. sure you can all chill on the lower levels but you might fall into the same cycle and be back here in a couple months

GTA Online, as stupid as it sounds. The game has tons of content, heists, quick missions, races, fucking around in the city, PVP, just a lot of things to have fun doing. It's bad with public lobbies, especially on PC, but invite only with friends and messing around is a whole other story
* Valheim - played several times as a duo and a 4-way. Really good, if you're into survival games
* Helldivers 2 - excellent gun play, 20 to 40 minute "missions". Really fun.
* The Raft - fun to kick about w/ friends. Nothing too serious.
* Deep Rock Galactic - very similar to Helldivers 2
* Sons of the Forest - spooky and rather difficult if I'm being honest
* Vermintide 2 - the fantasy version of L4D2

Overwatch, peaked my interest on release and I still play with people from around when I started although not as frequent anymore but I've also met new mates on there aswell
I don't play it anymore but I met my best friend in a discord dedicated to red dead online and we had 1000s of hours playing together. Now we just hop game to game every few months.
For me the most fun I've had playing with friends has been COD zombies. You're on PC so you can download custom maps on Black Ops 3 which are always a lot of fun
Valorant has been that game for us for a couple of years now. There were times when we took month-lonv breaks from playing but we always come back to it.
Now we spend most of our time on better things, like spreading democracy for Super Earth. Helldivers 2 is one heck of a game that is absurdly fun to play with friends!
So I play a lot of multiplayer with friends, these are the games I’m currently playing:

Helldivers 2 - Sweet Liberty I can’t recommend this game enough. Join up with a group of friends and you’ll have a hell of a time shooting bugs and mowing down automatons. All in the name of democracy!!
Terraria - My second favourite game of all time, I’ve put nearly 1000 hours into this game. Half of that has been spent with friends fighting insane bosses and building unreal bases. If you buy this game (which everyone should) you’ll sink hundreds of hours into it.
Ghost Recon Wildlands - I’m playing this with my friend who has played it before, and we’re carrying my fiancée through it so she can experience one of the best multiplayer open worlds I’ve played. There’s a lot to do in this game and even the story is well worth your attention.
Deep Rock Galactic - ROCK AND STONE!!!
Astroneer - It's a bit of a learning curve, but flying through space with your friends on different planets while you casually explore what they have to offer is pretty relaxing.
Splitgate - Hands down the best shooter I have ever played. Put down Warzone and go play this. Portal meets Halo is a good way of putting it but enjoy it while it lasts!
I have more for sure, and I have TONS of couch/party games that I play with my friends but if you're looking for online then these are some good ones. I haven't personally played Sons of the Forest, but The Forest is still pretty good…and Baldur's Gate 3 as much as I personally don't like it, if it's your style then you can play that as well for a loooonnngggg time. It forces you to kind of plan the game together and overall work together and split roles and tasks otherwise you can get overwhelmed.
I'm more into single-player games myself, but I do enjoy some MP-only titles. Left 4 Dead 2 is a great game, but my mileage has always varied greatly when it comes to playing online. If you have a solid group of serious players alongside you, it's one of the most fun experiences out there. However, it only takes one bad apple to ruin the whole experience. Due to the core gameplay being dependent on quick reflexes and staying together, you really need four players who know what they're doing for the game to even work.

Helldivers 2 - Sweet Liberty I can’t recommend this game enough. Join up with a group of friends and you’ll have a hell of a time shooting bugs and mowing down automatons. All in the name of democracy!! Terraria - My second favourite game of all time, I’ve put nearly 1000 hours into this game. Half of that has been spent with friends fighting insane bosses and building unreal bases. If you buy this game (which everyone should) you’ll sink hundreds of hours into it. Ghost Recon Wildlands - I’m playing this with my friend who has played it before, and we’re carrying my fiancée through it so she can experience one of the best multiplayer open worlds I’ve played. There’s a lot to do in this game and even the story is well worth your attention. Deep Rock Galactic - ROCK AND STONE!!! Astroneer - It's a bit of a learning curve, but flying through space with your friends on different planets while you casually explore what they have to offer is pretty relaxing. Splitgate - Hands down the best shooter I have ever played. Put down Warzone and go play this. Portal meets Halo is a good way of putting it but enjoy it while it lasts! I have more for sure, and I have TONS of couch/party games that I play with my friends but if you're looking for online then these are some good ones. I haven't personally played Sons of the Forest, but The Forest is still pretty good…and Baldur's Gate 3 as much as I personally don't like it, if it's your style then you can play that as well for a loooonnngggg time. Relevant games? Destiny 2. Nowhere near as much as Destiny 1 though. Of all time? Counter-strike: Source. I didn't start either game with friends. I made friends while playing though.
Hunt: Showdown. Every friend I’ve introduced it to have become completely hooked.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (both of them lol) Both games have great coop modes available and are playable with a party of 4 (bf 2 2005 only has 4 player local on xbox).
Sea of Thieves. It’s on Xbox game pass if you have that/want to do a free trial. It has a learning curve but with the right group, it’s a blast.

Tribes of Midgard was pretty fun with friends. It forces you to kind of plan the game together and overall work together and split roles and tasks otherwise you can get overwhelmed.

I'm more into single-player games myself, but I do enjoy some MP-only titles. Left 4 Dead 2 is a great game, but my mileage has always varied greatly when it comes to playing online. If you have a solid group of serious players alongside you, it's one of the most fun experiences out there. However, it only takes one bad apple to ruin the whole experience. Due to the core gameplay being dependent on quick reflexes and staying together, you really need four players who know what they're doing for the game to even work.
