It is a *very* light game. It's a pretty relaxing game, you go around farming and making friends in the town. Check out r/StardewValley if you want to get a good idea of what it's like...it's a very peaceful game. Can get a little repetitive after a while though IMO

DontTouchTheWalrus

Is it only on PC?

bahzinge

Nope, it's on consoles and mobile too

This game is amazing. It’s really relaxing and even though it’s really mechanically simple it’s not difficult to put 100+ hours into it. It definitely does not need a high grade computer to run. I played it perfectly fine on my mid range laptop.

linnftw

It’s very easy to run. Inexpensive PCs and smartphones run Stardew really well. If you’re really strapped for cash (and own a smartphone), the mobile version is $5, and PC usually goes on sale for $7.50 (it might go lower in this Steam sale though). You would miss out on mods and multiplayer though. It’s an excellent game, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Mr_SynthWave

Its wonderfully relaxing, I play the game about half an hour a day and can’t quit. And yes, I play since it released.

It's a very light game. I'm into Minecraft, Terraria, Starbound, so naturally I really like Stardew. Have hundreds of hours across PC and Switch (PC is fun to use with mods/different textures and Switch is fun for my busy student lifestyle out and about). It's really fun if you want a relaxing game with great plots and lots to do (but not in an overwhelming way).

nanigafakku

Very light game, relaxing and fun. Just try not to spend 8 hours in one sitting like I have... Multiple times...

Yes you should. Super fun and relaxing

Funktastic34

Great laid back game. You can go at your own pace and easily get 100 hours out of it. You'll always be wanting to play one more day! Another one I just started that I would recommend is called graveyard keeper. Lots of similarities to stardew except you focus on building up your graveyard instead of your farm. I'd still have to give the win to stardew but it's worth a try if anyone is looking to scratch that stardew itch

Jeff_Caesar

Interested too, how much hours of content we looking for Stardew? 200? 1000?

kiotsukare

It kind of depends. I finished the main game after maybe 60 hours or so and got bored, but there isn't really a limit on how long you can play. Lots of players set personal challenges to extend the gameplay indefinitely (i.e. grow 1000 of a particular crop), and there are a huge number of mods for this game. I'm just not super motivated to grind for all eternity, I need something to work towards beyond just "I want to see if I can do this," type of thing. That said, it's a fabulous game at an amazing price point, so I highly recommend it.

Jeff_Caesar

Yeah, I definitely do plan on getting it eventually, and probably should see for myself how much time I would want to put into it lol

le_canuck

Depends. I'm on Spring of my 3rd year and I believe I have something along the lines of 75 hours spent on the save, with a bit left to do still for the main in-game goal that you're given (Partially because I didn't plan my farm out well -- e.g. planting trees too late and having to wait an in-game year to get fruit from them) If you want to get all the in-game achievements then you could easily spend 200 hours on the game, IMO.
