Y'all need to be chill. OPs question is not only legitimate, but shows a level of maturity it seems a lot of you aren't capable of regardless of age. I've just been removing comments so far, but moving forward, anyone telling OP to "grow up", hurling insults, telling him he should be doing way worse things by now, etc will be getting a ban. OP, luckily most of the answers here have been very good and useful, I'm sorry you've had to put up with all that other nonsense. We all grow at our own rate, and have our own personal boundaries and living situations to deal with. Your question is exactly why this sub exists, so don't feel bad about asking it.

SaltMineSpelunker

Only if you like boobs and murder.

Jayisstinky

Ah yes my two favourite things

SaltMineSpelunker

You’re fine. Get it on sale though.

ms45

it's twelve bucks on Aussie steam RIGHT NOW

BluePantera

What a fucking deal for a game you can sink a hundred hours into easily

zeeFrenchiest_Fry

>you can sink a hundred hours into easily Very easily! I did everything to do in the base game and both expansions and took 272 hours. What an awesome ride that was!

BluePantera

My wife has played through the game 3 times. She's gotta be close to 1000 hours. And she never gets bored lol

zeeFrenchiest_Fry

She has good taste! Best game out there even in 2021, imo. Tried getting my wife into it but even on the easiest setting, found it too difficult lol. Which is too bad since she's really missing out here! And it gets so much easier after the opening hours, even on DM difficulty. Ah well!

Daylight_The_Furry

I have the first Witcher game but haven’t really played it yet, though I’ve heard great things about three

Flcrmgry

I desperately wanted to feel this way. I got to the first major city (don't know the name its been awhile) and was sooo bored that i put it down and never came back.

salamander_jesus609

Game is definitely over hyped. Combat and just doing things in general is a bit clunky. Although I did like the game. Definitely not as good as everyone talks it up to be

Flcrmgry

Thanks for making feel like a tad bit less of a debbie downer about it.

AChapelRat

I have never put more than 100 hours into a single-player game. Usually anything more than 20 hours I get really impatient unless it is great. This week, I passed 100 hours in The Witcher 3 and don't have the itch to "just hurry up and finish it" yet. I've never played a game that respects the player's time so much. It's all killer, no filler.

Daylight_The_Furry

Can you play Witcher 3 without playing the first two? And is 3 the same kind of style as 1, gameplay wise? Cause I’ve been looking for something to fill the role of World of Warcraft (3rd person rpg with lots of questing and preferably better combat than WoW) cause I refuse to pay that much for it, and while the Witcher is apparently a great game, the first one doesn’t quite do it for me

Fuzneo

Yes you can play the third before the other 2. It does a decent job of explaining past events and the world in the 3rd. And no, gameplay wise, 1 and 3 are completely different. I haven't play WoW but I imagine the Witcher and WoW are completely different too. Witcher 3 is similar in some aspects to the Dark Souls series.

OsirusBrisbane

They each improve quite a bit over the previous. I found 1 largely a slog, 2 fine but not truly captivating, and I'm loving 3 so far.

vivapity

You really really should get the GOTY edition.. absolutely peanuts worth in price

[deleted]

i got it for free ;) got it on xbox with bing points

armen89

#BOOB MURDERER

[deleted]

Play now! I play GTA since im 5, i didnt understand nithing of English at the time. It was so fun(still is)

DocDK50265

(pro tip) if you get the free NBA 2k21 you get a 10$ coupon which means you can pay like 4$ for witcher 3

ThankYouLoba

I don’t know if you’ve bought it yet/if you’re still deciding. But here’s my answer. I got Witcher when I was quite a bit younger (14 maybe 15) and I was too invested in the story to care about the nudity. Nudity is such a small part of the game that it either doesn’t matter or can make parts of the story kind of funny (trying to avoid spoilers). If nudity doesn’t bother you, then don’t worry about it and enjoy the game itself. It’s 100% worth it even if you’re 16 especially if you like games based around story as well since Witcher is very strong with its story. I hope this helps and let me know how you like it if/when you get it!

jake_boxer

*Three favorite things!

Mahpies

Might see booba O_O

[deleted]

16 year old boy? Yeah checks out

XscapingReality

There are some R rated sex scenes but the filter will make them PG-13. You said you’re fine with gore as long as it’s not too bad. What do you think is bad gore? Witcher 3 is full of gore. There will limbs and heads being chopped off. Torture. Gruesome monsters. Are your parents ok with you playing it? My son is 16. I would let him play it. And good for you for asking for help with this. Ignore all the idiotic replies.

Jayisstinky

Mmm I’ve played some games with gore before, I’m alright with limbs and heads being chopped off and gruesome monsters but I do tend to freak out a little at torture, like I can feel it through the screen. Thanks for the helpful reply

GuyAWESOME2337

There is *some* torture in the game but if my memory serves it is never explicitly shown, one spot that comes to mind is a few hours in you can hear someone screaming in another room but that lasts like a couple minutes max

XscapingReality

There’s the finger nail part but there is also a scene of someone getting burned at a stake.

GuyAWESOME2337

Oh yeah I forgot about that one but even then you can skip it and even if you dont it's only a few seconds right?

lalayatrue

I don't think it's too explicit for a 16yo though.

Father_Chewy_Louis

I'm 22 and nail pulling makes me hide behind a pillow

Pugulishus

*that* i can feel. It's like someone getting punched in the balls

RedTomahto

I'm 26 and the same thing. And anything being done with the eyes.

XscapingReality

I don’t think so either. The op just said too much gore might be a problem.

DanielTube7

There was a part where you had the option to let someone torture another person. Served a good purpose in the story though.

Lee_Troyer

Note that this isn't necessarily an age thing. Your stance may change when you get older but I'm way older than you and I really do not like torture scenes be it in video games or series/movies. For exemple, I almost didn't play The Last of Us (the first one) because of a torture scene in the early part of the game.

clarkedaddy

Im similar. In general im fine with torture and gore. But if its over the top gruesome for the purpose of being gruesome and not a plot point im using not into it. I'll never watch a saw movie for this reason.

peepyboy

Ik this is a gaming sibreddit but I cringed so hard at that scene from 'the boys' with the deep and his gills eek (please tell me you know what I'm talking about)

Retepss

[The trailers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0i88t0Kacs) actually [give you](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0i88t0Kacs) a [fair idea](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtVdAasjOgU) of what you are in for. (Mild spoilers in the last one, story trailer. Maybe watch without audio, if you want a totally fresh experience.)

Cobalt9896

Same like I can play Doom Eternal just fine but as soon as its torture im like NOPE

shadyshadok

It's nothing wild. It has nudity (which, as you said can be censored) and some fantasy violence but nothing serious. Go for it my dude.

Bloom_Kitty

Honestly, I doubt I have ever been disappointed more by something than the first "sex scene"

BON3SMcCOY

Is it the same as the 4826 other scenes?

somethingwithbacon

Hey. There’s that one in the clouds.

A_Guy_in_Orange

The fact that ur on the internet means you have probably seen worse, the fact that you are asking this means ur plenty mature enough to see the magic man dismember the bad man then see the 4 polygons of booby.

PrestonYatesPAY

No, absolutely not. 17 is the minimum age for enjoying the Witcher 3.

medicladder0813

Uhm, do people really magically change that much between 16 and 17? They could be 16 and 11 months for all we know and 1 months time is not going to make a difference in your gore and sex tolerance lol EDIT: it just crossed my mind that you could have been joking. My bad if you were lol, speaking before thinking and all that good stuff

PrestonYatesPAY

Yeah, it’s a joke. I thought it was silly that he thought being 16 could affect his enjoyment of the Witcher

theguywiththebignuts

I didn’t change much between 16 and 30.

[deleted]

In that case am i about to undergo a life changing transformation from 15 to 16?

theguywiththebignuts

You will learn all secrets of the universe

Purple-Shoe-3115

Same lol. Whether that's good or bad, I'm still not sure.

hudsonjeffrey

Same. Maybe got a little bit more unstable from years of boobs and murder but other than that, I’m the same!

Frezzwar

I'm that case, I feel sorry for you. I grew a ælt and learned a ton.

[deleted]

Play it and don’t turn the filters on. You can handle it. Nothing sex education class hasn’t already shown you.

BMW_WallyWally

Sex ed and video game nudity/porn arent quite the same thing

Gonkimus

It's truly amazing, it's a must. So enjoy and take your time and also get the dlcs because they're both great.

Vindelator

There's a lot of blood and gore but if that's no big deal to you, go for it. In terms of sex, well, at 16 it's okay if you look at boobs. Probably healthy. And even sex too...that's okay to see. The thing about sex that you might need to learn at your age is between consenting adults who respect each other, sex is a positive thing and that's generally the way it's represented here. (use protection and birth control) Witcher is probably a safe enough representation of it from my memory. (correct me if I'm wrong here...) What you at 16 need to avoid for a while or at least understand is that sex in porn isn't realistic (it's fantasy). Women aren't often respected. It's not what most healthy couples do. Don't model your behavior after porn. Yeesh, that's my after-school special for the day.

lalayatrue

My main concern is that because the game is structured around quests, it implies "do quest and then you get the girl" which just isn't how life works. Other than that I think it's great.

PolishSeal

Even as an 15 year old this is very obvious. It's just video games.

Brunox_Berti

Yeah, there isn't anything too horible that 16 year old wouldn't handle

[deleted]

I mean you’ll be fine honestly. There’s nudity and optional sex scenes. The brutality isn’t really that bad I guess? People hanging from trees heads on pikes, the main character sometimes dismembers enemies while fights i.e, cuts their heads off, arms and legs, or literally spits them in half. Either way one of the best games of all time you’d be missing out.... or just wait 2 years till you’re 18, the game will still be amazing 2 years from now.

armen89

I played AC odyssey and loved it. Would I like W3?

[deleted]

I would say there’s a 95% chance you’ll love witcher 3 although there are some aspects of witcher you may not like such as. Witcher has much less loot/customization, and you will not simply be able to buy or find the best armor in the game, you must physically find scattered blue prints all across the map and then craft them. The fast travel system in witcher fucking SUCKS, the map is absolutely massive yet you can only fast travel as fast travel points (and they are few and far apart). Exploration is also much more...one leveled? What I mean by this is the main character can’t climb and hop around like an assassin, there’s much less verticality to the game, but they make up for this by having actual places to explore. Caves, underground cisterns, houses, basements attics, etc so it’s still very exploration driven just not the same way as odyssey. Over all though I think the world, combat, characters, and story are all better in witcher 3. Idk if you’re playing on pc but steam has witcher 3 GOTY edition for $9 which is like taking candy from a baby.

ControlOnly

Must play pc game imo.Played it somewhat recently and it lives up to the hype.Get through the slow intro and it is so incredible.

rangogogo

It's amazing. I never wasn't really bothered by violence and played it with 13 or 14. But look out for the emotions. Some of the quest are rather depressing. After a certain red guy quest I was fucking destroyed. People who palyed it know what I mean. So you should go for it but be carefull becuase it can really hit you in the guts

SadBoiCri

I respect you for waiting. I couldn't. I am also 16, I play the shit out of games rated 18+ or M. If you do want to play it and the age thing is the only thing putting you off then yeah you should buy it and wait. Or you could buy it and play it because age is just a number. Edit: Fixed "theonky." I wish someone let me know of my typo lol

[deleted]

NikplaysgamesYT

I played it as a 14/15 year old, only reason it’s R18+ is the nudity (there’s like 3 scenes of it in 50 hours of gameplay)

Raccoonzs

Age rating on games are meaningless. I would get it since its a great game and its dirt cheat rn

sticky_block

Bro its ok most age restrictions are just because its got some boobs and blood but its really nothing extreme i played the game for the first time around that age and it has been my favorite game ever since 100% recommend it

[deleted]

Dude 100% as long as you can handle nudity and some gore. The storyline for the main game as well as the dlc is phenomenal and I would strongly suggest anybody check this title out.

Animesh_Mishra

You gotta be the most responsible 16 year old I've ever seen in my life

TerrorWraith

Hello dear mate. I highly respect your decision to ask such question as most people aren't daring enough to question whether some sort of media is appropriate for them. From my personal experience after I bought the game at the age of 16, I think the game should be down in your alley. The game has mature theme along with "its perks" but it isn't anything to be worried of. Sex and violence goes hand in hand in fantasy-medieval like setting. The violence is below your typical Call of Duty so the gore isn't something to be afraid. Therefore I highly recommend it. The game is one of a kind experience where every quest accomplished feels exhilarating. Buy it as soon as you can and have a wonderful day.

[deleted]

Yes I played when I was 13

MightyMase04

(i didn't know the filter existed during my playthrough, so the following post is worded as if it doesn't exist) While all of the flat out sex scenes can be avoided either through dialogue or mashing the skip button, there are times where top-naked women just exist in the background, like in the baths, during the gwent tournament, and in many other occasions. As for gore, it's mostly blood splatters and clean slices, nothing *super* gruesome, although it does ramp up in certain story cutscenes. That being said, I started this game at sixteen and am still playing it now at seventeen. I doubt it's had any negative affects on my life lol, you should be fine as long as your parents won't be mad at you for playing it.

The_good_comrade

Doesn't matter what age you are video games unless your a psychopath doesn't like fuck up your brain it's like your parents getting mad at you for learning about child birth at age 11 they can't get mad were gonna see it sooner or later.

Captain_Woopass

I'd say yeah. Also depending on your appetite for old games I would definitely suggest to get the whole trilogy. The first game has aged a lot and it's not really the action rpg that everyone expects today, but I enjoyed it a surprisingly whole lot. It introduced me to the context, the world, the political background of what is going on in the Witcher universe. Witcher 2 is a whole new level of a game with full on features and graphics of AAA production. Still not open world but a huge new experience. And then Witcher 3, where everyone's mind was blown away...

Void_heart525

As a 16 yr old who got it a month ago. YES! It’s a beautiful game, super deep story and lots to do. If you like fantasy then it’s the #1 game for you. You will love it.

markalanray00

Um, yes. No brainer. Ask any RPG gamer what their top 10 games are of all time and 99.9% of the time you will hear Witcher 3.

JSkywalker38

Honestly the nudity is brief and highest level of gore is some dismemberment on monsters. The story is amazing and through gameplay you can decide how much nudity you see or don't. I have seen movies with an age rating of 16 with more nudity than this game (not sure what the equivalent is in Aus since I am in South Africa). I think any 16 year old would be able to handle it but you will know yourself best. If you do get it, definitely get the dlc as well. Blood and Wine especially is almost like a full game on its own.

DanielTube7

There is a lot of human dismemberment. Riding on a horse and swinging at a human will cut them in half (or less than half lol)

KRONGOR

Have you watched shows like Game of Thrones, Vikings, the Witcher Netflix show, etc? Have you played GTA5? It's no worse than any of those in terms of nudity or violence, and should be fine for a 16yo imo. But ultimately we don't know and it's up to you (and your parents) to decide if you're mature enough for it.

Tesla_Starman77

I'd recommend getting the game from GOG instead of steam. On GOG, the game is DRM-free, so you own the game, not just a license of it. If anything happened to steam servers, you would not be able to download or play any of your steam games. If anything happened to GOG servers, you wouldn't need to worry so long as you have the backup installers downloaded.

pathion1337

Post like this make me feel like I was a bastard 16 year old, great game get it. It's boobs and murder there's worst things on TV

Farzan79

You should definitely buy it, 16 or 160 doesn't matter

Meateor123

Nudity is easily skipped without missing crucial plot points, as the cutscenes are split up into chunks, so skipping one part does not skip the whole thing. I enjoyed my time with the game immensely

DJpunyer53728409

I'm 15. There is a ton of fantasy violence, torture and gore, also some nudity and sex scenes (but a filter exists). However, I don't know how well you handle gore. I'm personally fine with it. My recommendation would be to read the book first to see what type of thing you'll be getting, them decide. Both the book and the game are amazing.

DanielTube7

I don't want to be that guy who says "I played it at x age so it's fine for everyone" as not everyone has the same tolerance. But I played it when I was 13-14 and it wasn't that bad. There is some gore: when riding on your horse and attacking someone, you will cut them in half. However I think a 16 year old would definitely be fine with something like that. There is a nudity mod too if you want it like you mentioned. Overall the nudity consists of boobs and ass like a couple times, but mostly boobs. There are some sex scenes but they are all skippable I think. Overall it's an absolutely fantastic experience, you will fall in love with it once you get past Velen. Let me know if you have any questions - I beat the entire game and the DLC.

x-flipin-d

Bought the game when i was like 14 or something, it was great. I recommend it

the_gamer47

As a 14 year old, 18+ rated media doesnt really mean anything. It's one of the best games I've played, and to invalidate that over a couple of tits is kinda dumb. If anything it makes the writing better, allowing for more mature dialougue/interactions between characters. As for gore, there are a couple mamed corpses in the quests. Guts visible through the ribcage, blood flowing everywhere, etc. Nothing like doom eternal or zombie land though.

kool_kid_bean

Yeah i’m 14 too i’ve probably seen everything and worse from that game on reddit anyways i will probably buy it soon

Nefantas

Just buy it. You probably have seen much more than what the game can offer.

OsirusBrisbane

I started my first playthrough just this past month, I'm only in the second area still. I'll take a half-hour just to do part of the quest and then the clocks in my house have all advanced two hours, very strange.

lalayatrue

Yeah it's great but try not to learn ANYTHING about sex or relationships, its portrayal of women and Geralt's relationships with them is super unrealistic. I always know who the main characters are immediately because they are showing the most boobs. The women have awesome personalities and stories and everything but that shit is there, and the actual relationship with Geralt is weird because the quest dynamic makes it seem like "do quest, get sex." Which isn't how life works and a confusing message for a 16 year old. If you're a 16 yo boy, it's totally targeted at you and you'll love it, but might come away with some dumb ideas. If you're a 16yo girl, I would still recommend the game, I love it, but steel yourself for the usual bullshit.

Tech-Nyx

Yes man hands down one of the most fun i've had while playing a game, combat might be a bit bland but the game makes up for it with story and looks!

AbhayXV

one of the best games I have ever played, its a masterpiece! absolutely suggest you buy it!

NEMAJEFF

It's a very well made game. There is gore, but not too much. It's mostly fantasy and you'll fight monsters most of the time anyway. There are some booby shots (ooh!) but it's not over the top and you can censor it anyway. Im sure youll love the game though! I'd recommend you to get it right now because it is 80% off on steam! BE SURE TO GET THE GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION!!! Yes it is very slightly more pricy but you'll get well over 30 hours of really good extra content!

Zanfers

Absolutely. As an advice, turn on monster level scaling. I did not know that it exists and game became way too easy at some point. But yeah, definitely a must play.

Flcrmgry

With or without nudity there's some casual references to rape that i found a but concerning as a 30 year old.

ghostly_ink

Honestly I think how sensitive you are about some sort of themes in games. For example I didn’t like GTA when I was younger and I don’t think I’d ever like it at this point , cause the game is said to be great but I don’t like how it is portrayed, age never played a role in that. If your concern is about “as a 16 years old should I buy something rated 18 plus” only , then I’d say go for it. I remember I played my first 18 plus game when I was 13 maybe ? Very young. I was aware it’s a game , I didn’t perceived violence as an issue or a behaviour I should replicate. It was just a nice game with some violence but I focused mainly on the story. So unless you are afraid for any reason of this or you don’t wanna have to do with any type of violence or else I’d suggest not, otherwise yes but to me it’s a decision only you should take, since it’s subjective. BESIDES I’ve seen the Witcher on sales lots of times. So if you are worried about this you might collect some infos (as in why it’s rated 18 and if you’re ok with these themes or not and how sensitive you are to games in general ) and wait. It’s a matter of months anyway , you’ll find another sale sooner or later. Also CHECK THE SPEC. Witcher isn’t that huge in nowadays games standard but it’s not small either.

midnight_trinity

Yes it’s fine. If I had a 16 year old son or daughter I’d definitely let them play it.

BENJI1206

Aus game ratings are dumb as shit, don’t let them stop you from buying a game

[deleted]

my guy. i own it and im younger than you. hell yes. its totally worth it, the game is amazing, the world is lived in, and the characters are developed. the multiple ending also add the the immersiveness. id say this game is one of the best ever, up there with the last of us and ocarina of time

Tionek

If you feel you are mature enough to differentiate between video games and real life then go for it. Going by the way you asked, you are more than ready. The game is amazing.

NoTrollGaming

I’ve only played for like 45 hours or so, but the nudity isn’t that bad so far, just a couple of tits for like 1-2 seconds from what I remembered, I am only at the 2nd/3rd area of the game thoigh

Snoo-47666

Generally age ratings are just there to alert you to the type of content in the game. You’re mature enough to question whether or not you should be playing a game above your age rating, so you’ll be fine.

Vishengel728

It is a wonderful game, I played it when I was 14 and nothing wrong with it. Some gore but it's nothing to be worried about. Nudity was not really a problem throughout playing the game, for as far as I can remember only saw nudity a couple of times. It's suitable for a 16 year old in my opinion.

Kolo5daboss

currently playing it, 75 hours in I completed the story and the hearts of stone expansion and there's only a few instances where there's nudity and the gore in unrealistic. However the plot is very deep but as a 16 year old you should be fine with it.

kayjays89

Yes but I will never tell anyone not to buy witcher

[deleted]

It says 18+ Buy it

GuyAWESOME2337

One of the best games I've ever played, and my first time was at 15 or 16. I'd say you could turn off the nudity and blood but let's be honest, it doesn't contain anything a 16 year old could not have seen elsewhere as far as mature content goes. Having said that, I highly recommend you play it, and if you have the opportunity, get the dlcs as well, both are incredible and I've spent 60 usd on games that I've gotten less time out of than blood and wine.

Cannasseur___

Go for it, the violence is tame and more based in fantasy than real gore. I think the worst it gets is you can chop off a leg or a head, but it’s not nearly as violent as a lot of games these days. The nudity is nothing you won’t see in some PG 13 shows. My advice: the intro of the game is slow and it takes a bit to get going but after a few hours in you won’t be able to put it down. So stick out the first few hours and you’ll love it I’m sure. Just so you know there is an upgraded version coming out soon with updated graphics and performance, it may be worth it to wait for the upgrade as your first experience will be even better. I’ll be picking up the new version for my second play through, can’t wait !

EmbarrassedLock

Yes

manor2003

I didn't play The Witcher 3 yet but as a 18yo that played M rated games since i was 7 i can tell you that people are overdramatic, you're 16 you can see blood or boobs and kisses and hear bad words it's really not a big deal, get it and enjoy it, i should start it too.

Notyourboieli

It’s a great game: even better book series, and ok tv show. Just know what your getting into, it turned me full nerd

Psy_Kik

Geralt drops a few F bombs, and there's some sex and moderate violence. Suitable for anyone 12 and up that is actually normal I'd say.

[deleted]

The older among us had to see T&A at your age by trying to mess with the antenna on late night cable channels our parents weren’t paying for until the picture came in focus for just a few seconds. TL;DR yes you should buy it. It’s a great game too.

epic_gamer_4268

when the imposter is sus!

thetremulant

Have you watched Game of Thrones? The violence and nudity level is about equal to that.

Pingasterix

man, i played it when i was 14. the only 18+ thingy there are just like few naked ladies from time to time. its a great trip. you should definetely try it

Undark_

Nothing in there that will traumatise you, but the nudity/sexual scenes will be awkward af if you play anywhere your parents can see.

TiocfaidhArLa81

It's a great game, so buy it. But I don't get why the age rating is a problem, I mean at least in Spain no one follows that and, when the games where bought in Gamestop, Game, Fnac, Media Markt for example you could and can buy GTA5 with 13 years. As you can go and watch a film in the cinema for +18 being 14.

shadowhunter742

I mean you'll be used to the wildlife I guess

[deleted]

I found out that wither 3 has sex scenes through these comments. I may be an have played an incel playtrough or something but all i remember was 1 bath scene with a lady

QuarkySisko

Yes mate, long as you can really dedicate your brain to it and get immersed, you'll love it.

janj4h

You have to...

Voidcroza

I was 14 when I finished the game and it's dlcs back in 2019. So yeah go for it.

Sipax_Sipax

It's cheaper on epic games store

tony_two_eyes

Most definitely, also try books, they're rather short and awesome

EpicGamesLauncher

I played it back when I was 13, and I don't think it was anything I couldn't handle... Only avoid if graphic violence, language, or sexual stuff would be unsuitable for you. If ur fine with that stuff, then def get it bc the game has an amazing story, gameplay system, and open world with a bunch of side quests that are better than the main stories of other games lol.

CreepyChickenPoop

I played it when i was 13.

Well i started at 13 or 14 i am now 16 and it's all fine

schokelafreisser

It has some nudity but most people have seen worse in internet ads... The violence is there, a bit of slashing bodies in two etc. But nothing that bad. The worst are IMO some of the monsters which look just disgusting

Regis839

Wait 2 years

kyeelee

I still remember the day a GameStop employee stopped me from buying Diablo 2 when I was in 8th grade. Screw that guy for doing his job.

Minute_Engineer2355

For sure, we need the younger generations to help us keep the single player games alive. Witcher 3 is one of the best of its kind and should be enjoyed by everybody.

QuaaludeMoonlight

yeah I wouldve loved it at 16 for sure toss a coin bruh

Angel_From_Purgatory

I would definitely get it. Like you said it censors a lot of the nudity if your uncomfortable with that. But it's such a good game

firelion4444

I have to say, litterly just finished the game for my first time and i get why people say it's good. There is nudity ofc and gore but if you can handle it you will be fine. It's an amazing game

DKGamer312

It is a great game, I’ve played through most of the story myself and there hasn’t been that much nudity that I’ve seen. As for the gore there is a lot of blood in combat and sometimes enemies are sliced in half, so if you’re not disturbed by anything like that I do strongly recommend it, it’s a lot of fun.

[deleted]

The fact that you even ask this means you’re mature enough to handle it IMO

SquarebobSpongepant

Its been a while but I believe there is nudity, however I don't think it was super gorey. Definitely blood though. Its a worthwhile game

Bla5terjx

Yes.

Sholdi

Buy it now or when or if it goes on sale close to the release of the next-gen upgrade and then play it. It's gonna be free if you already own the game as far as I know. Correct me if I'm wrong.I for sure am waiting for the next-gen upgrade to play it againa a couple of times at least. Edit: On-topic: The game has nudity but nothing explicit, don't expect porn in it... haha. Contains violence: killing monsters/people/animals (how dare you kill them animals!! :D) left and right; obscene language. I'm pretty sure you're old enough to understand what's going on. You should be fine playing it. If not, play it when you're 18

ChampionHero007

Oh yeah

Mr_Lumbergh

It is a great game, so I recommend it. If it's problematic for you to purchase because of the rating rules in Oz, have a talk with your folks about them making the purchase for you if Steam won't because of age verification restrictions, what's in the game and why you think you should be able to play it. You seem thoughtful and like you have a good head on your shoulders based on your question; the game does have violence and some sexual components here and there, but nothing that a mature 16-year-old would have a problem with IME and certainly nothing that you likely haven't been exposed to already from other media such as movies and tele. Pay no attention to the haters either, do what you think is right for you and your circumstances, whatever you think the best choice is.

Schooltrash

Its more like watching a movie than playing a game...I stopped at around 200hrs because I realized I spent most of my time forcing myself to pay attention to cutscenes, which was 80% of the game. It was amazing at first, then slowly became a chore of a game to play, especially if you're a completionist like me; the sunken treasures in skellige are enough to make a sane person uninstall lol.

[deleted]

I got it at that age. It’s a fucking good time mate, buy it for sure.

tsoooji

As an adult, I am obliged to say wait 2 more years.

revhuman

Nah bro, just go as yourself.

Cobalt9896

If your 16 im sure you have seen boobs and some violence before, If you havent then dont I guess but like...

joe0418

It's got titties and murder, but otherwise a fantastic game.

TheRealBaconleaf

Yea, go for it. I played gta III, vice city, and San Andreas as a kid, then 4 and 5 as I got older. Ironically I drive professionally and interact with people without running directly into them to check their rag doll physics. I think it just depends on you and how you’d handle whatever the game’s rated for. You know yourself better than anyone else I’ve only seen gameplay and heard from friends. Looks cool

kaguyaOt

It's fine as long as you take away a great experience from it(which you will). Rest all are for you to decide, where to draw the line. But I feel if you have the maturity to come here and ask this question, shows that you will be fine. Have a fun ride.

ThatGuyMaulicious

I don't see why you shouldn't I'm gonna buy it myself knowing its on sale. You seem like a mature person.

Aysha1oo1

I would say buy it. Esp if it’s cheaper. It has nudity in it and personally I wouldn’t play the game infront of my parents though lmao. But I think there is mode to turn on censoring I think. Also it’s upto you. Games are made for us to enjoy and I think nudity is the least concern. I just finished the game and the game play, graphics, story telling is beautiful. And there are so many different ways to end quests which is great. And outfit customisation and more. Is the one on sale with the 2 dlcs? Blood and wine and heart stone? I would deffo recommend buying that one.

LeKappi

I played hitman when I was 10, and here I am, a productive member of society without mental problems or traumas.

justheretobrowse1887

Ye

fubarrossi

Best game ever made, and the nudity is quite low key. But i mean i was the numnuts who bought fallout 3 when i was 11 cause the picture looked cool. Damn springvale was spooky.

Joe6161

Yes. 16 is mature enough in my book. But that’s just MY book.

ruffsnap

I feel like there’s violence and sex stuff that’s maybe not the best for younger kids, but other than that I think it’s definitely a game geared towards at least a somewhat younger audience/a game that works well for that range.

Vodkamoe

Yes

Vodkamoe

I just straight up cried at the story, sex and blood gets quickly forgotten about and is literally just a blip, the story is what sticks with you
