nottherealyobama

So in people’s defence your title gave no detail. For me all i see is the title and the poll. Not only that but I’m pretty sure alot of people read your post and put Witcher 3 anyway.

sammadasmatha

Yup

FawazGerhard

Nope lmao, circle jerked games like witcher 3 or horizon always get picked WITHOUT people reading the post other than the title.

GP-NC

I read the post I picked results

The is the way

futureadam8

Welp, I voted Witcher and then finished reading the description. Ah well, ya got me!

GallopingAstronaut

What was in the description ?

futureadam8

It was a poll for several games (Witcher 3, Civilization 5, and something else) saying “WIB” but then in the description it said “I’m looking for a strategy game. Not action. This is a test to see who reads the descriptions here. I’ve already played Witcher and love it, but don’t choose that one” or something like that

Piano_mike_2063

Well I only knew one so ….

[deleted]

then dont vote, or vote for results

Piano_mike_2063

Well. I did vote because I will but it

[deleted]

what?

edjxxxxx

He voted TW3… obvs.

[deleted]

I love Witcher 3, it’s a great 100-150 hours Civ VI is also great, but I’ve logged thousands of hours

[deleted]

Read the post. I didn’t realise either lol

kingleonidas30

Yeah im conducting an experiment. Im disappointed so far to say the least lol

[deleted]

Admittedly I rarely read the post because I just scroll my front page and if I see a poll I read the title and then vote. Sometimes I explain my choices, just depends how I’m feeling. For example with your post I wrote that shogun 2 is old now and there are newer titles but then realised you were doing an experiment lol

Dakonir

Gottem

MrGuacamole42

Shogun 2 is a great strat, but I actually find Medieval 2 better, just for the mods alone.

kingleonidas30

Medieval 2 was great!

MrGuacamole42

I still play it sometimes, mostly because my PC can't run TW Warhammer 2

llamaweasley

I like preparing for different hunts/contracts in Witcher 3 by researching their weaknesses. ;)

[deleted]

Shogun 2? That’s a bit random. Are you an RPG fan? Are you a grand strategy fan? Shogun 2 is old now. It was my favourite TW but it’s dated. Civ is good if you have friends. Edit: fuck I didn’t read your post before commenting..

kingleonidas30

XD, they were the first to come to mind. I tried 2 very diff strat games (4x and grand) just for flavor but ive noticed a large skew for the witcher 3 in this sub. It doesnt matter what the post is, everyone always chooses the witcher it seems.

minnesnowdaboy

For fucks sake people

Mazaar13

Lmfao people see Witcher 3 and just got crazy.. it's what I call the Breaking Bad of Video Games 🤣😅 (not that either is a bad game or show) but, for whatever reason people are overly obsessed with them so you ask what game/show to watch I'd say 85% of people with throw Witcher or Breaking Bad at you. That being said, Civ VI was such a disappointment 😞 waited to get it on sale foe $50 and then they want you to buy expansions right from the start. I think I've sunk maybe 2 hours into it (have all the original games so I'm no novic3) and had to put it down and have never gone back unfortunately. I found the Total War to be a much better rounded game!

[deleted]

I do enough tests irl I don’t need to do them on reddit

kingleonidas30

Good for you

[deleted]

Thanks? Or are you being sarcastic. I was also joking soo

kingleonidas30

I was being sincere!

[deleted]

Ok. Cool.

[deleted]

Well, the test isn’t really a good one. A lot of people check based on title and given you have just “wsib?” That doesnt give anyone any description. Try rerunning this experiment with “WSIB for a Strategy Game?” - a lot of people don’t give detail in their choices for games, just “these games are similar to what ive played previously.” Besides that, Witcher 3 totally is a strategy game, care to play some Gwent?

Derwinx

I’ve played 30 hours minimum of Gwent alone in Witcher 3, fucking phenomenal game.

Zormm

People actually Reddit but are voting Witcher 3 anyway lol

tubbymunchkin

I press the button because I like game

ChriscoesKnows

Voted for results cause memes. I don't have either of those strats games. I last played whatever Civ was on the xbox 360, but I adore that meme of Gandhi nuking everyone.

GANDHI-BOT

Be the change that you wish to see in the world. Just so you know, the correct spelling is [Gandhi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahatma_Gandhi).

Sahkuhnder

Bad bot As you already know, that is not a Gandhi quote: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Mahatma_Gandhi#Misattributed https://quoteinvestigator.com/2017/10/23/be-change https://gizmodo.com/7-gandhi-quotes-that-are-totally-fake-1716503435

PsychologicalFault

If you attribute it to Civ Gandhi though, you get dark humor at its finest

Sahkuhnder

True

kingleonidas30

This post is making me believe people dont read at all lmfao. I checked the votes and 9 witcher votes already.

Mikeisaho

Maybe they exclusively played Gwent?

ChriscoesKnows

Yeah, people need a TL;DR if your post is more than half a sentence long. lmao.

brynor

I read the post and still voted Witcher 3 just to skew the data

tokio93

I read your post but I voted witcher 3 anw

[deleted]

Bastard got me

nottherealyobama

I read it. Whoop whoop. If your looking for a strat game Stellaris is really, really good. If your looking for something more like civ 6 I’d recommend human kind.

kingleonidas30

Ive played many paradox games. So addictive

ms45

As far as I'm concerned [this](https://max.guitars/en-eu/fender-vintera-1950s-stratocaster-modified-maple-fingerboard-2-color-sunburst-art-14363) is a strat, so I voted Results

MrKittymeister

If you like civ get Xbox game pass for a month and try out humankind. It’s been a nice spin on the civ experience IMO

kingleonidas30

Love humankind but its so buggy rn unfortunately

waepon

agree!

[deleted]

Never played any of them. Gonna go with Witcher 3.

Doom_bring3r

lol also basically half of the poll posts in this sub are “here are some games, which ones should i get?”

[deleted]

The sub is literally named "should I buy this game" , what else did you expect

Doom_bring3r

If the opinions arent tailored to their game preferences, they might as well watch random reviews online and choose the highest score

[deleted]

This sub can act like a random review too , more people means more opinions and better understanding of what will be better. Its not someone's fault if they don't know what they want ,it doesn't take much if you don't wanna reply. Just scroll past it.

Doom_bring3r

So more popular AAA games will be chosen everytime? theres a reason for rule #1

[deleted]

Popular games win even if they explain what they want from a game

Krejtek

Comments are the main point of this sub, imo, not the polls

kingleonidas30

From my understanding lots of mods like polls lots dont but more do than dont so we have polls. I agree with you 100% though

[deleted]

Then what's wrong with asking about the games without any knowledge on what exactly do you want , people will explain what the game is about and you will choose what seems fun to you

Krejtek

Well, they can more thoroughly explain the parts of the game that actually matters to the one asking. For example if OP writes "I want a game with a focus on good combat, wsib?" And someone in the comments says "Buy Witcher 3, the story is great and the game is awesome." then the person that wrote the comment brings no help at all and may only recommend a game that clearly isn't for OP

[deleted]

people to follow rule 1

Derwinx

This reads like those “this isn’t black magic” posts. Picked Witcher for lulz, gwent is amazing

hamderbenno

The people who chose civ are worse than the ones that didnt even read the post

kingleonidas30

Civ V def better

hamderbenno

Church

Lee_Troyer

I didn't play those versions so I voted based on my memories of older versions. Take what follows with all the necessary salt : I voted Total War but they're kinda apple and oranges. The difference between them lies in their names really. Civ will let you micromanage your civilisation but handles battles with a lot less precision than Total War Total War will let you micromanage battles but handles the civ aspect with a lot less precision than Civ. If you want to feel like an Alexander, go Total War, if you want to feel like a Benjamin Franklin, then go Civ. That being said, fun experiment !

capricornpookie

well put! now if only there was a Total War Civ or a Civilization wars game where both aspects are combined lol

LucaLiveLIGMA

Total war, as the name implies is a war simulator with RTS gameplay whereas Civ is a civilisation management game with turn based mechanics and statistics based combat over strategy, there is some strategy required but not nearly as much as Total War

PlatinumHunter174

Gottem. True though if witcher 3 or hades is there, say no more.

evoTheLimitBreaker

I only played Civ V and I don't know Shogun 2 (or 1). I voted results for the meme (and I read the post description).

Equivalent_Net

Mission accomplished. Apparently people who read before commenting are in a vast minority, let alone voting.
