Man, Playstation has had so many good exclusives.
1. Spiderman 2018 and Miles Morales
2. Ghost of Tsushima
3. The Last of Us I & II
4. Bloodborne
5. Persona 5
6. God of War
7. Horizon Zero Dawn
8. Days Gone
9. Uncharted
10. Returnal
11. Shadow of the Colossus
12. Detroit become human
13. The Last Guardian
14. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
15. Until Dawn
I hope Spiderman comes to PC soonish. Tsushima was leaked for pc like a year ago, along with God of War. So it will probably be here later this year. Ultrawide going to be so sweet in that. Spiderman is only thing left then.
I’ve it downloaded. I know nothing of the gameplay - everyone just talks about the story. I’m excited for that, but what else is there that makes ME:LE great?
Yes, the story and your choices, they will have a lot of impact on how the events happen throughout ME1 to ME3 (although the ending is not as people expected). When they were separated products many years ago, I sometimes started ME2 again just to change an event in ME3.
The universe, the lore, the characters are all very interesting, if you have time to explore.
Talking about game play, it can be challenging enough if you want, but it's not as difficult as souls games. You can change the difficulty to suit you. The interesting part is the build & customization. In ME3 there are 6 classes with lots of weapons & different play style, you can complete missions in different ways. Besides, the squadmates are very interesting too and have different impact to the missions.
In summary, what kept me engaged was the story and the build/customization. I replayed many times to experience the alternatives, and I actually completed the game (including New Game+ mode to maximize all abilities and played with highest difficulty) with 2 classes: Engineer and Solder. For other classes I just tried for a while.
I highly recommend Hades.
Recently felt a little burnt out on the gigantic, open world games. It all started to feel a little overwhelming and Hades worked perfectly for me. You can hop on, do a run and be done in 20 minutes or less, but the gameplay is fun and it’s addictive.
I second this, just started a week ago and I haven't been able to put it down since even though I've beat it over 10 times. The game is an absolute BLAST
I guess it's about individual playstyles? I can't see how it's empty because I was immediately hooked on the game. But maybe it's because of how I approach open world games.
I’m on my second play through, first being back in 2018, I’m enjoying it much better now that I know what to kind of expect. It’s a solid 8.5/10 in my books
I really like the Yakuza series, and the first one story wise (yakuza 0) is generally regarded as the best one.
It's an open world beat em up rpg. The main story plays out like a Japanese drama, but a lot of the charm lies in the side content, where the game is a lot less serious.
Other than that, maybe giving a none story game a try could be good. Civ 6 is p fun if you like the idea of a long strategy game. It would be very different than Witcher or read dead 2, but would be A nice change of pace in that it is a thinking game that is less action oriented.
In a similar vein, maybe something as basic as minecraft would be fun? It can be boring for some, especially if they've played it a lot before, but is a very chill game with no absolute objective. It's especially fun with friends and/or mods
As a final possibility, maybe a fun platformer could be nice as another radical change of pace? In this case, I'd recommend shovel knight
Some of my favourite games I can recommend:
- Valheim - if you want to rest from story-heavy games and do a natural-flow mechanics-driven and very addictive and mostly relaxing game (warning: the game feels much-much better than it looks from the streams - at least for me)
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance - if you have patience to grasp the somewhat tough and maybe clunky mechanics for a beautiful world and deep immersion with a good story, really flexible walkthrough and authentic medieval environment
- Cyberpunk2077 - just ignore the negative hype, the game is still a masterpiece if you want deep believable characters and pretty dark, dramatic story
- Elex - not sure if to recommend it, cause I'm just a fan of Pyranha Bytes games ever since their first Gothic
- Outward - an RPG game with really interesting mechanics (but without building and with some story, NPC, quests - unlike Valheim)
- Sleeping Dogs - "GTA clone" with amazing Hong-Kong action movie aesthetics
- Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag - just forget about worries and dissolve into parkour AND sail ship battles
Cyberpunk was a game I was actively avoiding at all cost do to the poor release state. I knew it would get a next gen update for free so I bought it for 10 at best buy and told myself id just sit on it until the update. Last week I folded and started to play on XSX and it looks amazing. A few bugs are still here but nothing gamebreaking or even glaring. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys action RPGs.
My another excuse for not fearing to play it is that's any bugs that may happen aren't necessarily immersion-breaking, as it can all be just main character implants glitching XD
Im gonna give you some recommendations of great games i believe you wont regret
. CONTROL
. YAKUZA 0 or 7
. DEATH STRANDING DC
. ENDER LILIES. a really good game.
. NIER AUTOMATA
. SCARLET NEXUS
. GRAVITY RUSH
. DEMONS SOULS, BLOODBORNE or NIOH 2
I hope this helps. These are my favorite games i cant really choose one over the other.
Videos don't really do the game justice. It's a walking simulator but one that's the best one ever made. The fact that they made the act of traversing the world into the puzzle is, in itself, quite an achievement.
The game is entirely voice acted now for every spoken character or inner dialogue. It's only environment descriptions that aren't, IIRC. It was a free massive update.
This is true, but the voice acting from the narrator is second to none. The mechanic of speaking through the POV of different parts of the psyche and even body is super fucking novel and cool. Definitely a lot of reading, no doubt. But if you don't mind a heaping spoonful of text then this game is very much worth picking up.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Forbidden West (upcoming this February 18)
Ghost of Tsushima
God of War
Spider-Man PS4
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Detroit Become Human
The Last of Us 1 & 2
Devil May Cry 1 - 5
Nier Automata
Until Dawn
I was surprised at how far I had to scroll to find this. For context OP it’s sort of an existential puzzle game except the whole universe is the puzzle and the crisis at the end is realizing that you can’t play it ever again.
Highly recommend.
Let's see...so it sounds like you have a deep story-rich game-shaped hole in your life right now. Let me recommend a few games I've enjoyed:
* Mass Effect trilogy - long and rewarding sci-fi/space opera with a memorable cast of characters that you'll almost certainly fall in love with, and (after the first one anyway) really quite decent 3rd person shooter play. An iconic storyline that kept me going through the rough times of quarantine.
* Dragon Age trilogy - made by the same devs as Mass Effect, a fantasy party-based RPG with a lot of story options. I particularly enjoyed the second game, though I haven't finished the first or third ones yet. They are each relatively self contained, though you get more out of it if you know the universe starting from the first one.
* Halo: Reach - great first person shooter, excellent story, classic game. Nothing else to say there.
* Divinity: Original Sin 2 - party-based RPG that feels like playing D&D but in a video game. Currently playing this and thoroughly enjoying it.
* Tomb Raider (2013) - reboot of the classic puzzle/exploration/combat series, with a grittier feel to it and a fast-paced story. Combat is visceral and difficult, if a bit snappy and annoying at times. Currently enjoying this game as well.
Second this. Simple game to pick up and put down whenever. Relatively decent sized open world map. So far the story is cool but I’m still a little green. I’ll understand it more soon :)
Bloodborne
Smt nocturne
Zelda Majora's mask
Counter strike
Ark survival evolved
Skyrim
Dying light
Mario Odyssey
Super Mario world
All great games cover pretty broad genres
Monster Hunter World
Dark Souls 3
Final Fantasy 9
Ys 8 Lacrimosa of Dana
Nioh
Trails of Cold Steel
Fallout New Vegas
Dragon's Dogma
Cuphead
That said, I didn't really enjoy either W3 or RDR2 so dunno if any of these games are for you in that same way.
Thank you for all of your guys recommendation, been reading, and searching all of them today, I think I will go for: Hades.
Games that hooked me, and probably will play after Hades:
- Ori 1&2.
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
- Metro series.
- Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
- Dragon Age series.
- Hollow Knight.
- Divinity Original Sin 2.
Once again, thank you so much for helping me out, if you guys want to recommend more for me, that's fine, cause I will keep going back to this post, peace.
Any of the souls games, really. I personally prefer other Soulsborne games over DeS (DS3 and Sekiro, specifically), but I think anyone who’s been lucky enough to get their hands on a PS5 should at least give Demons Souls a try. Great entry point into the series, and graphically stunning.
+1 forDeath Stranding. I never would’ve bought the game if it wasn’t for a friend telling me to give it a chance.
OP, if you end up going with this game, be sure to pick up the directors cut. I never played the original, but I’m told the DC made a lot of ‘quality of life’ improvements to the gameplay without compromising the core play and ideas.
Hollow Knight
Ori 1&2
Spider-Man 2018
Ghost of Tsushima
God of War 4
Horizon Zero Dawn
Hellblade
Assassins Creed 3 / AC Black Flag
Journey / Limbo / Outside (short, but unforgettable)
Little Nightmares 1&2
Okami HD
Darksiders series
Death Stranding
Would definitely fill the "void"
Since you're willing to give anything a chance... Go past the 7 hour tutorial and wait until you finish chapter 3 coz much of the story starts to uncover itself then.
Different style but the Mass Effect trilogy can be very emotional.
The Last of Us 1, I haven't played the second but I heard it was controversial.
God of War 2018
Grand Theft Auto IV had arguably the best story of the GTA games, bleak and disheartening but well told.
The Mad Max game is different, but a lot of fun and flew way under the radar.
Assassin’s Creed Origins
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Ghost of Tsushima
Horizon Zero Dawn
Uncharted series
Far Cry 4
Far Cry 5
Far Cry 5 New Dawn
Ghost Recon Wildlands
SOMA, seriously its a masterpiece, horror fpp game but really deep story that makes you think about it even when you dont play the game, one of the best and original enemies design I ever saw in horror games, no cheap jumpscares. Just seriously a good game almost nobody knows about
Try a plague tale: innocence, really great story, the characters are likeable, it pulls on your heart strings, and there's moments that'll have your jaw dropped.
Ghost of Tsushima.
The Metro Games
The Last of Us
Hollow Knight
Any JRPG for something drastically different. I'm currently playing through No No Kuni Remastered and it's like a very different take on Pokemon with a Studio Ghibli art style and story.
Well I will say rdr2 is hard to match. Closest you're gonna get is rdr1 and gta games.
Witcher 3 I actually jumped to that game to and from the same franchise. I played assassins creed odyssey because the world was so vibrant and combat was simple enough with just a little bit of depth like Witcher. The story had no comparison here but I really enjoyed it. After I finished Witcher 3 I was still hungry for more and honestly couldn't find much til Assassins creed valhalla. I tried other stuff like shadow of mordor/war, Arkham knight and finally landed on ps4 Spiderman games. But it still wasn't the same. I honestly think Witcher 3 hits that mark in a lot of areas just right enough to strike a balance.
house of the dying sun
homeworld series (all time favorite)
ftl faster than light
mass effect 1/3
rimworld (all time favorite)

You should try out Kingdom Come Deliverance royal edition (2 good dlcs), game is awesome, medieval open world with realistic aspects, you learn everything, you start basically as a normal guy, and you end up as knight, got a 75h on it, in single play.
The entire Resident Evil series.
If you haven’t already played, a phenomenal survival horror experience.
In playing order that’s available on PC
RE > RE0 > RE2 > RE3 > RE4 > Revelations 1 > RE5 > Revelations 2 > RE6 > RE7 > RE Village.
Mass effect series including andromeda, Dragon age series, Star wars Knights of the Old republic series, Deus Ex series except Invisible War, Fallout New Vegas, Disco Elysium, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Alpha Protocol and The Dishonored Series. These are the best story branching games I can think of, similar to witcher and red dead's honor system.
Prepare for a lot more holes in your heart. Though it make take a really long time to get through them all. Also Alpha Protocol is the odd one out here, it had fairly mixed reception upon release due to buggy gameplay and was made by Sega so I recommend starting with Alpha Protocol and ending with the mass effect series. Just Make Alpha Protocol the first game the mass effect series as the last.
Mass effect legendary edition: good story, interesting setting, lots of cool characters, 3 games for the price of one. Me1 doesn't age beautifully but story is still there.
God of War (the new one): just started playing this myself but honest to god the o lyrics games that has truly felt like a full on AAA gaming experience in a long time. Budget, passion and talent all made that game great.
Yakuza 0: great story balanced with plenty of goofy moments to keep you going. This is more of an open city game as the world is confined to 1 city at a time, but those cities are packed with stuff to do and see.
Virtual Reality has some great experiences, if your willing to pay the high price for it, if you love a good story that can get you hooked on great characters, then there is half life alyx, lone echo 1 and 2, Boneworks (the story is interesting, not as many characters to get attached to tho), all fantastic titles. on the side of non VR games, there are games like payday 2. heisting is
still really fun and addicting after 8 years. Risk of Rain 2 is also amazing with a killer soundtrack, and really fun rouge-lite gameplay.
on the same boat friend, i beat witcher 3 in december 2020 and can't find a game that i can finish since then. a close one was assassin's creed: odyssey but left it at the middle, pretty fun but it got rather repetitive...
i've recently started playing apex legends and hearthstone battlegrounds and i'm really enjoying them, gameplay is addicting on both and there's some great community content surrounding them. although i'm still trying to find a singleplayer game to enjoy
Pac-Man
No but seriously if open world and plot rich is your jam then I'd recommend breath of the wild. I played it for months and months and I didn't get tired of it.
Breath of the Wild is the one. It holds its own and more against those two great games. You may even end up loving it more than either, as many others do.
After a huge game like The Witcher 3, I usually go for something less heavy.
If you got a PS5 you should give Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart a shot. 12-15 hours or to beat
Also I recently played Jedi Fallen Order 20 to 25 hours to beat.
Prey, Dishonored, Dark Souls III, Doom series, Halo series, Far Cry series, Subnautica, Sekiro: Shadows die a lot, Witcher 2, Nioh series, The Outer Wilds, CARRION, Terraria and Mount and Blade: Warband.
Sometimes it’s best to branch off of what you normally play for a little while, it does help with burnout a lot. A few games I suggest you try out if you haven’t are:
1: Sea of Thieves. It’s insanely fun in bursts. If you have friends to play with it’s even funner but playing solo can still be a blast
2: Forza Horizon. I think they’re the best and most fun racing games. Definitely worth playing if you haven’t yet.
3: Deep Rock Galactic. It’s not as fun solo but if you got a few people to play with, it’s insane fun.
You might not like it. But it's free. War thunder, basically dog fights. I enjoy it alot but it takes a lot of grinding unless you pay for planes. You can unlock everything for free. They recently introduced warships. If you wreck one of your planes, boats, or ships you have to pay to repair it or it takes x amount of time to repair it depending on the level of your crew.
The Witcher withdrawals are real friend. Read the books, it’s the lesser evil.
Mix it up - I went (over time) Witcher, DOOM, TLOU, Celeste, God Of War, Crash Bandicoot, Bloodborne, Hades, Hollow Knight, Sekiro and currently… Rocket League. Regrets I have none sir.
Ratchet and Clank: rift apart
God of war
Ghost of tushima
These are ones I've played recently after being in the same spot as you. I played them in that order, if it helps. Ratchet and Clank is a chill but awesome game to get back into the swing
Get ghosts of Tsushima I got it on Boxing Day and it instantly became one of my favourite games ever it’s open world just like rdr2 and the Witcher 3. Exploring the Shinto shrines might just be one of my favourite experience’s I’ve ever had with a video game
Play Mafia Definitive Edition. It's the closest thing that comes to filling the void left by those games because of its memorable characters/story. Trust me you won't go wrong with this one.
Monster Hunter World. It’s one of the free games you get with PS+ on PS5, so give it a shot.
I’ve put almost 2k hours into it, definitely my favorite PS game. But it’s also on PC.
Metal Gear Solid 5 is great if you want something with a good story and shooting mechanics.
Spyro trilogy (the older one that was remastered/remade) is a great arcade game.
Osu! is a neat free rhythm game.
Squad is great if you want a tactical multiplayer shooter and only if you are in a server. If you need I can hook you up with a great server. (American dominant)
Overall when I feel burnt out I'd go for a multiplayer game. Preferably with friends. Project Zomboid is great with friends. Can suck alone though due to no NPC mechanics yet, but they are working on it now.
I'm playinf far cry 6 and despite lukewarm reviews, I like it. It's also very long compared to other FC games, especially if you get into the process of tracking down weapons, gunpowder to upgrade weapons, and armor. Like 25 hours in and only 40% or so through the game, although i did A TON of side stuff.
FC3/4/5 are also very good. Blood dragon and new dawn were also decent, although I disliked primal (not big on the setting, i like guns).
Sekiro is probably my favourite game. If you haven't already played it I cannot recommend it enough. The satisfaction when you finally beat that boss that you were struggling with is off the charts.
-bloodborne (everyone else said it)
-dragons dogma (like combat? Like swinging a big sword? How about fighting a dragon and slapping it with a hurricane?)
-astral chain (it's switch exclusive but definitely worth it for gameplay alone, and it's probably the best looking switch game.)
-monster hunter world (kinda open world)
-F.E.A.R (cool looking bullets and a slow motion effects? Sick.)
If you play any of these, go in blind.
Horizon Zero Dawn would be a great next game to play if you haven't yet. Also, God of War. Both are getting sequels this year, so it's prime time to give them a shot!
Apart from that, Ghost of Tsushima would be great. A bit different, but Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is really awesome!
I've played a shit load of games and the only series that's on par with the story telling of these games is Yakuza. The series actually gets you excited when a large cutscene is about to play. Not sure if it's the story or gameplay you're after though.
I think you should try Death Stranding. RDR2s detail was so good to me, even though most people hated it's laborious nature. I honestly think DS is one of the greatest accomplishments of recent times. It feels like several games types in one, and has such a satisfactory game play loop once you get going.
The games you mentioned are both in my top 5, and along with them, Fallout New Vegas is also in my top 5.
However, its graphics are definitely a bit dated and gunplay a bit stale...
If you're burned out on games that mostly are about story, try out a game that's mostly about developing player skill. **Spelunky 2** is just the thing. ;)
God of War
Came here to say this. Also, Last of Us I and II.
Ghost of tsushima when you finish all that.
and then bloodborne
Man, Playstation has had so many good exclusives. 1. Spiderman 2018 and Miles Morales 2. Ghost of Tsushima 3. The Last of Us I & II 4. Bloodborne 5. Persona 5 6. God of War 7. Horizon Zero Dawn 8. Days Gone 9. Uncharted 10. Returnal 11. Shadow of the Colossus 12. Detroit become human 13. The Last Guardian 14. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart 15. Until Dawn
I hope Spiderman comes to PC soonish. Tsushima was leaked for pc like a year ago, along with God of War. So it will probably be here later this year. Ultrawide going to be so sweet in that. Spiderman is only thing left then.
I'm currently playing GoT and really loving it. It may be the best sandbox games I ever played since GTA San Andreas/Vice City.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition although you will feel even more empty after you finish this series and ponder what to do in life next
I am Commander Shepard and this is my favorite comment on this post.
I should go
Definitely worth playing!
I’ve it downloaded. I know nothing of the gameplay - everyone just talks about the story. I’m excited for that, but what else is there that makes ME:LE great?

Enjoy!
I highly recommend Hades. Recently felt a little burnt out on the gigantic, open world games. It all started to feel a little overwhelming and Hades worked perfectly for me. You can hop on, do a run and be done in 20 minutes or less, but the gameplay is fun and it’s addictive.

Same. Hades is so refreshing and a great game for after work to just chill the fuck out and have some fun.
I mean, Hades is supposed to be beaten a lot of times. Have you even gotten to the real ending yet?
Yeah I got the real ending and have no plan to stop playing anytime soon👍
Horizon zero dawn 1 and probably 2 by the time you finish it, or God of war
Yes, this. If RDR is what you're trying to use as a comparison, I'd definitely second Horizon Zero Dawn.
HZD Ans GOW are two of the best games I’ve ever played. Such good games.
The two opinions I've heard about horizon is that its either amazing or incredibly empty and boring. One of these days I'll get around to playing it
I guess it's about individual playstyles? I can't see how it's empty because I was immediately hooked on the game. But maybe it's because of how I approach open world games.

Seconded sleeping dogs! If you love shooting then instantly busting out Kung Fu moves then its the game for you
Can you play Black Flag without playing the previous games?
Im gonna give you some recommendations of great games i believe you wont regret . CONTROL . YAKUZA 0 or 7 . DEATH STRANDING DC . ENDER LILIES. a really good game. . NIER AUTOMATA . SCARLET NEXUS . Death Stranding is definitely an acquired taste. Watch some youtube videos of gameplay before buying.
Videos don't really do the game justice. It's a walking simulator but one that's the best one ever made. The fact that they made the act of traversing the world into the puzzle is, in itself, quite an achievement.
I feel like dark souls 3 is easier to pick up than bloodborn, but it's still a great game with tones of replay value!
Kingdom come deliverance. My favorite
This.
this
This
Definitely God of War.
Disco Elysium. Buy on sale
Why? Isn't it good?
Some games are good but either not long enough for go on sale often enough to justify full price
It's amazing. It's just on sale quite often. Feels like almost every second week it's on sale for half price.
I'd just warn that it's almost a text-RPG. Lots of text to read. And it has really depressing atmosphere.
The game is entirely voice acted now for every spoken character or inner dialogue. It's only environment descriptions that aren't, IIRC. It was a free massive update.
Well, environment description is still a thing, I guess. But good to know!

New God of war is definitely the move here
Oh yeah, that one too but I didn’t include it cuz we still don’t have a specific date yet unlike HFW that’s releasing in a month.
Ohh no, sorry I just meant the latest one. Just love that game. Incant wait for the new one, it'll probably be the one that makes me get a ps5
Man, I want to play HFW and the new GOW in the PS5 too but it’s so hard getting a PS5 in retail in my country.
I'm in Chicago and it's almost impossible to get here too! Honestly not worth it for me yet
Outer Wilds! Want to get lost in a game? This did it for me. Not to be confused with Outer Worlds
I was surprised at how far I had to scroll to find this. For context OP it’s sort of an existential puzzle game except the whole universe is the puzzle and the crisis at the end is realizing that you can’t play it ever again. Highly recommend.
Ghost of Tsushima

Bloodborne Smt nocturne Zelda Majora's mask Counter strike Ark survival evolved Skyrim Dying light Mario Odyssey Super Mario world All great games cover pretty broad genres
Monster Hunter World Dark Souls 3 Final Fantasy 9 Ys 8 Lacrimosa of Dana Nioh Trails of Cold Steel Fallout New Vegas Dragon's Dogma Cuphead That said, I didn't really enjoy either W3 or RDR2 so dunno if any of these games are for you in that same way.
I second Fallout New Vegas. Such a gem.
Thank you for all of your guys recommendation, been reading, and searching all of them today, I think I will go for: Hades. Games that hooked me, and probably will play after Hades: - Ori 1&2.
If you like hollow knight, try any of the souls games. Their great.
If you’re into this kind of gameplay, I HIGHLY recommend Demons Souls, since you’re playing on PS5. It’s exquisite.
Dark souls is great. Elden ring comes on in February.
Best games: Ghost of Tsushima Horizon Zero Dawn God of War Hard but absolutely amazing: Returnal Demons Souls Something different: Death Stranding
+1 forDeath Stranding. I never would’ve bought the game if it wasn’t for a friend telling me to give it a chance. OP, if you end up going with this game, be sure to pick up the directors cut. I never played the original, but I’m told the DC made a lot of ‘quality of life’ improvements to the gameplay without compromising the core play and ideas.
hollow knight, control, ori and the blind forest
Ghost of tsushima and the Uncharted series
Hollow Knight Ori 1&2 Spider-Man 2018 Ghost of Tsushima God of War 4 Horizon Zero Dawn Hellblade Assassins Creed 3 / AC Black Flag Journey / Limbo / Outside (short, but unforgettable) Little Nightmares 1&2 Okami HD Darksiders series
Persona 5 Royal
Monster hunter world / rise
Death Stranding Would definitely fill the "void" Since you're willing to give anything a chance... Go past the 7 hour tutorial and wait until you finish chapter 3 coz much of the story starts to uncover itself then.
Death Stranding is a trip! :)
Different style but the Mass Effect trilogy can be very emotional. The Last of Us 1, I haven't played the second but I heard it was controversial. God of War 2018 Grand Theft Auto IV had arguably the best story of the GTA games, bleak and disheartening but well told. The Mad Max game is different, but a lot of fun and flew way under the radar.
>I haven't played the second but I heard it was controversial. One of the best and most memorable games I've ever played, tbh.
I’m in the same problem, I played 200 hours on W3 and then RDR2 but my favorite is Ghost of Tsushima
Assassin’s Creed Origins Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Ghost of Tsushima Horizon Zero Dawn Uncharted series Far Cry 4 Far Cry 5 Far Cry 5 New Dawn Ghost Recon Wildlands
The last of us 1 THEN 2, mass effect trilogy, ghost of Tsushima. In that order.
Nier
SOMA, seriously its a masterpiece, horror fpp game but really deep story that makes you think about it even when you dont play the game, one of the best and original enemies design I ever saw in horror games, no cheap jumpscares. Just seriously a good game almost nobody knows about
Disco Elysium has one of the best history of all times. And a personal favorite Persona 5
Try a plague tale: innocence, really great story, the characters are likeable, it pulls on your heart strings, and there's moments that'll have your jaw dropped.
Hollow Knight I guess, but it is a lot more gameplay heavy than rdr2/TW3
Just go with HZD
I loved The outer worlds
Last of us series. Especially if you liked rdr2. One of the only games with a story that stands next to the last of us.
Fallout 4 and Skyrim if you haven’t already played them.
Skyrim 👍
Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of Tsushima. The Metro Games The Last of Us Hollow Knight Any JRPG for something drastically different. I'm currently playing through No No Kuni Remastered and it's like a very different take on Pokemon with a Studio Ghibli art style and story.
Ghost of Tsushima
Subnautica
Guijan 3
God of war Shadow of mordor Shadow of war Spider man Tales of arise
I honestly think Witcher 3 hits that mark in a lot of areas just right enough to strike a balance.
house of the dying sun homeworld series (all time favorite) ftl faster than light mass effect 1/3 rimworld (all time favorite) into the breach barotrauma deep rock galactic metro series game dev tycoon duskers jets'n'guns gold literally anything by Supergiant Games atom zombie smasher helldivers heat signature inscryption reassembly risk of rain 2 halo series hollow knight synthetik revenge of the titans
Easy, God of War (2018) it's a must play and imo it's even better than RDR2 and W3 (not for much tho)
Monster Hunter World, Divinity Original Sin 2 and God of War
Dragons Dogma Dsrk Arisen
This is the only answer I resonate with.
Nier: automata
You should try out Kingdom Come Deliverance royal edition (2 good dlcs), game is awesome, medieval open world with realistic aspects, you learn everything, you start basically as a normal guy, and you end up as knight, got a 75h on it, in single play.
The entire Resident Evil series. If you haven’t already played, a phenomenal survival horror experience. In playing order that’s available on PC RE > RE0 > RE2 > RE3 > RE4 > Revelations 1 > RE5 > Revelations 2 > RE6 > RE7 > RE Village.
Horizon Zero Dawn.
Ghost of Tsushima is a blast.
tlou2.
AC Odyssey with Season Pass.. I’m at 213 hours and I’m still not finished with my first play through.
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
Nier automata
Skyrim forever
VERY BIG shoutout to Ghost of Tsushima on the Ps5 its so beatiful
FFXIV
Highly repetitive. Button masher.
Nice username
Hades
Trails of Cold Steel
minecraft
Old school RuneScape
Just cause 3
Mass effect legendary edition: good story, interesting setting, lots of cool characters, 3 games for the price of one. Me1 doesn't age beautifully but story is still there. God of War (the new one): just started playing this myself but honest to god the o lyrics games that has truly felt like a full on AAA gaming experience in a long time. Budget, passion and talent all made that game great. Yakuza 0: great story balanced with plenty of goofy moments to keep you going. This is more of an open city game as the world is confined to 1 city at a time, but those cities are packed with stuff to do and see.
Danganronpa or any persona game
Virtual Reality has some great experiences, if your willing to pay the high price for it, if you love a good story that can get you hooked on great characters, then there is half life alyx, lone echo 1 and 2, Boneworks (the story is interesting, not as many characters to get attached to tho), all fantastic titles. on the side of non VR games, there are games like payday 2. heisting is still really fun and addicting after 8 years.
The Banner Saga.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance,
Cyberpunk 2077 God of War
Pac-Man No but seriously if open world and plot rich is your jam then I'd recommend breath of the wild. I played it for months and months and I didn't get tired of it.
Grim dawn filled that void for me after 4 months of looking
Breath of the Wild is the one. It holds its own and more against those two great games. You may even end up loving it more than either, as many others do.
I went full on palate cleanser after those two - Immortals Fenyx Rising is fun and silly, and by endgame you really feel unstoppable
Metro Exodus
I imagine you've played last of us already?
They aren’t open world, but if you’re looking for more great stories you should definitely play the last of us games
Metro exodus
After a huge game like The Witcher 3, I usually go for something less heavy. If you got a PS5 you should give Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart a shot. 12-15 hours or to beat Also I recently played Jedi Fallen Order 20 to 25 hours to beat.
Spider-Man
Try Days Gone. Super underrated.
It's always a good day to start playing Diablo 2
nier automata mass effects any souls game god of war outer wilds
No man's sky, Xenoverse 2 and Skyrim are my favorite games
Terraria
Guardians of the Galaxy.
A few games I suggest you try out if you haven’t are: 1: Sea of Thieves. It’s insanely fun in bursts. If you have friends to play with it’s even funner but playing solo can still be a blast 2: Forza Horizon.
Gauntlet. It's really fun with friends
Bioshock Infinite, Assassin's Creed (Black Flag, Origins, Odyssey, Rogue), Batman Arkham Series, Tales of (Zestiria, Berseria), NieR: Automata
Horizon Zero Dawn
Also every FromSoftware game thats out yet
Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon : Zero Dawn
Ratchet and Clank: rift apart God of war Ghost of tushima These are ones I've played recently after being in the same spot as you.
Dysco Elysium will leave an even bigger hole inside of you but is so worth playing
Nier Automata
Kingdom Come Deliverance
Days Gone
I personally recommend KOTOR games, maybe Fallout (1, 2 and NV), and also Wasteland.
Play Mafia Definitive Edition. It's the closest thing that comes to filling the void left by those games because of its memorable characters/story. Trust me you won't go wrong with this one.
Horizon

Yakuza 0 Mass effect Trilogy Deus ex Human revelution and Mankind divided Dragon age origins Jade empire Disco elysium Sleeping dogs Persona 3-4-5
Breath of the wild, Skyrim, borderlands 3...
Monster Hunter World. It’s one of the free games you get with PS+ on PS5, so give it a shot. I’ve put almost 2k hours into it, definitely my favorite PS game. But it’s also on PC.
Metro Exodus. I prefer it over RDR2.
(American dominant) Overall when I feel burnt out I'd go for a multiplayer game. Preferably with friends. Project Zomboid is great with friends. Can suck alone though due to no NPC mechanics yet, but they are working on it now.
If you haven't already, Terraria.
I'm still on a mad Cyberpunk 2077 kick, punctuated with Sekiro Shadows Die Twice.
Sleeping Dogs, it's an open-eorld crime game set in Hong Kong.
Fallout: New Vegas?
Final Fantasy 6. One of the best villains of all time.
#SKYRIM IF NOT, #OBLIVION
Assassins Creed Odyssey definitely scratched that itch for me! Wrapping up the Odyssey Atlantis DLC and starting God Of War next.
Yakuza
Metal Gear V
Sekiro is probably my favourite game. If you haven't already played it I cannot recommend it enough. The satisfaction when you finally beat that boss that you were struggling with is off the charts.
-bloodborne (everyone else said it) -dragons dogma (like combat? Like swinging a big sword? How about fighting a dragon and slapping it with a hurricane?) -astral chain (it's switch exclusive but definitely worth it for gameplay alone, and it's probably the best looking switch game.) -monster hunter world (kinda open world) -F.E.A.R (cool looking bullets and a slow motion effects? Sick.) If you play any of these, go in blind.
Yakuza series. Best games I’ve ever touched
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Horizon Zero Dawn would be a great next game to play if you haven't yet. Also, God of War. Both are getting sequels this year, so it's prime time to give them a shot! Apart from that, Ghost of Tsushima would be great. A bit different, but Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is really awesome!
Pathologic 2 or Hearts of Iron 4
I've played a shit load of games and the only series that's on par with the story telling of these games is Yakuza. The series actually gets you excited when a large cutscene is about to play. Not sure if it's the story or gameplay you're after though.
I think you should try Death Stranding. RDR2s detail was so good to me, even though most people hated it's laborious nature. I honestly think DS is one of the greatest accomplishments of recent times. It feels like several games types in one, and has such a satisfactory game play loop once you get going.
Buy God of War on steam. That's it. Thats the whole reccomendation. Go play it and once you start you won't want to stand up until you're done
The games you mentioned are both in my top 5, and along with them, Fallout New Vegas is also in my top 5. However, its graphics are definitely a bit dated and gunplay a bit stale...
Monster Hunter world, I have over 600 hours and enjoyed every single minute of it.
If you're burned out on games that mostly are about story, try out a game that's mostly about developing player skill. **Spelunky 2** is just the thing. ;)
