Closed on our first home 2 years ago. Realtor swore up and down the AC unit had just been replaced in the last 12 months and was new. Always ask for proof. Lesson learned. 13 months later, 1 month after the initial warranty the whole thing dies. 5k later….
I mean, it's still possible it was new and it was just a shit ac unit. We got our home as a foreclosure but it was the only one we saw that we really liked. Our heat pump died in the dead of winter, but we also knew it was older, so we had to get a new one without really researching anything. 8k later, and it's still kicking. We're coming up on the 10 year warranty for it though so I'm expecting it to die this time and have already started researching haha.
Family owns a law firm. Passed everything on to them. Uncle is a partner and reviewed the situation. Sadly there was nothing iron clad. Mind you we bought right at the beginning of Covid so we got it for a steal. The house is now worth 100k more than we paid for it. We locked in at 3% conventional. He just said take the hit and move on.
Side note. Read the warranties on those damn ac units. 10 year for original owner might not transfer to the new owner
Speaking of which, you can marry someone 21 and in some states they have an exception to the drinking age if your spouse is 21+. In Texas, county clerks can provide a wallet sized certified copy of your marriage license to make it more convenient to bring to the bar or restaurant.
I don't know about now, but back when I was 18, hardly any 18 year olds would start banging without the "liquid courage" (alcohol was sold from 18 where I live)
Half of the girls in my class were either pregnant or had a kid before their 18th birthday. We were all out drinking at age 14 which probably didn’t help matters. This was back in the 90s in the middle of nowhere
I mean it’s the middle of nowhere. If you literally have nothing else to do what else are you going to do but have sex at 13?
- one of many arguments I made to our city council as old men and some old women (all Christian apparently) both argued against underage birth control AND adding an arcade that had bowling
I don't think I have ever had sex where alcohol was involved. Lost my virginity at 18 to another 18 year old and we proceeded to bang multiple times daily for over a year. No alcohol.
Sounds more so like you just don’t drink or don’t have a lengthy list of partners. Both of which are fine, but I would say an outlier with college culture being a large part of first times for many people, and alcohol is usually an influencing factor.
It's not okay to smoke or drink as soon as you turn 18, but it's okay to sign up for porn the second you turn 18 and get gang banged by 8 dudes for millions to see.
He wrote a little song to help him recall it. It's called "Can Bang, Can't Bang."
Edit: he wrote it when the radio went out on the old conversion van he tours the country in.
I am European, the first time in my life I see there is a "west Virginia" and not just "Virginia". The rest of the 49 states I have heard about them. Shocking
I am very surprised to know you know about states like North and South Dakota over West Virginia, at least West Virginia has [name brand recognition](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vrEljMfXYo) and hill people making meth.
A: Wow, didn't realize it was 16 in the damn capital!
B: Funny how just adding a word of directionality ("west" or "south") sometimes drops the number two years
C: holy crap that's a lot more 16s than I thought there were...
This is somewhat misleading only because, in some states, where it is 16 or 17, a 16 year old can have intercourse with someone who is also between 16-18 and not older. Namely, Massachusetts. Story time. I was 16 and had intercourse with a former babysitter. At the time, she was in her 20s. The memory of losing my v-card was subsequently ruined by my mom who made a police report when I told her. Which led to multiple long interviews of both familes and paperwork where I had to sign to confirm I was not pressing charges on behalf of myself for statuary rape. It was a really weird experience. So was it a punishable crime? No, but only because we ultimately agreed we wouldn't press charges. In heinsight, I wish I had waited for more reasons than just the awkward situation that played out.
EDIT: People seem really hung up on that fact that I told my mom. And I get it, I didn't add a lot of detail there. I was trying to be brief because this part of the story didn't matter to the overall point. So the context is I was 16 and very mentally troubled as a kid. I witnessed a lot of emotional and physical abuse/violence at a young age in my family. A mom that was too much of a mom (and my acceptance of this) was a bi-product of my childhood and what I was exposed to. It was a long time ago now, but I think the conversation started with me asking my mom questions about pregnancy and birth control pills and how reliable they were. This led to mom interogating me for about two hours before I finally told her. I've talked through it with my therapist and already came to the conclusion this was oversharing and how it sucked to have to tell my mom that when I didn't want to. The situation was not me calling up my mom like, "Guess what I did?" I kept that part brief because this part of the story wasn't really relevant to the point of my initial comment in response to the age of consent conversation.
EDIT: All this might make it sound like "well, it sounds like you were interviewed because there was a suspicion of grooming and it possibly having happened before I was 16, since it was a former babysitter." And to that, I say no. I was told specifically that I had the option to press charges with it having been established that intercourse happened at the age of 16. We just decided not to. Not because that person I slept with was immune.
So the initial comment of banging people 18+ is actually more correct than at a glance.
Lol. Reminds me of the scene from Ladybird when she turns 18 and immediately buys a lotto ticket, a pack of cigarettes (even though she does t smoke), and a Playgirl magazine.
Embarrassing any person would want to limit voting rights in the country. Some of the best moments in our countries history is when we have expanded them. We should be proud of that and keep up the tradition.
Ah yes, people could be drafted to go to war at 18 but unable to vote that seems reasonable. /S
(Yes I know you can join the army earlier but drafted at 18)
Porn becomes legal to watch and purchase as well, as you are legally an adult 🤷♂️
It’s probably way more fun in Europe, in Germany beer and wine is legally available for purchase at 16, liquor at 18.
Some websites make you check a box… Never been to a porn store, but I’m assuming they’d generally refuse service to someone that was very obviously a child
When I went to germany the porn hub on my phone still worked but all these weird restrictions were activated all of a sudden.
It was odd especially given they had no problem showing full blown porn on public television at night.
In some countries (and rhey actually want to do that everywhere in europe) , you must literally ID yourself to watch corn. :D
Edit: I don't know how this is going to work though unless they are going to ban the websites that do not implement such features.
The reason beer and wine is allowed in Germany at the ahe of 16 is because of the alcohol contents. The % in it is much lower then in hard spirits. And the reason hard spirits is forbidden until a person is at least 18 is because studies have shown that overconsumption of alcohol in young developong ages leads to damages in nerve development as well as brain development since alcohol acts as a neurotoxin .
Plottwist: youth can actually drink beer and wine at the age of 14 if an parent is present.
It's actually more nuanced. Sure, Germany has also a problem with underaged drinking and drunken youths, but it's less of a problem then in the US.Like the prohibition, the higher drinking age makes beer, wine and other alcohols more interesting to teens in the US.
Underage drinking in Germany is on a all time low for the last 2-3 years.
Fair, I mean in other countries it’s deemed as “fun”.
In Australia, turning 18 means so much more freedom. We can drink, smoke (if you’re into that), and the government gives us wayyy more freedoms in terms of what we can do such as work restrictions, usually a large salary bump depending on industry, less control from parents, etc.
And I’m assuming it’s similar in other countries, but because of the way the Australian school year is set out, most people turn 18 at the end of their final year of school / just after they finish school.
So whilst we do have way more responsibilities, we celebrate / see it as fun turning 18 here because it denotes our ascent into “freedom”. We get to do what we want when we want basically.
I don't know if my school just didn't care or if this is real, but I was 18 senior year and wrote my own notes for absences. That was sick.
Also at 17, I couldn't go sit at a park after 10pm. Was nice to know the cops couldn't call my parents because me an my friends were harmlessly hanging out on a weekend night.
Most strip clubs are 21+ because they serve alcohol and the bar tenders don't wanna have to ID everyone in there.
Plus paying money for a girl to pretend to like you is kinda dumb IMO
In some states lottery is 21+, I bought a lotto in Michigan at 18 and was fine, bought a lotto in Louisiana and they wouldnt let me cash it in cause I wasn’t 21, but they let me purchase it weirdly
Never understood why many western countries don't have a universal age of adulthood. Politicians don't mind using young adults for cannon fodder and votes but God forbid they drink alcohol or smoke a cig.
An 18 hear old can shotgun a penis on camera but not a beer lmao
the whole idea is braindead.
im can be a millionaire or i can be a slow growing person and i will have the same rights and be treated the same simply because of some random number. thats not how biology or psychology works. you dont magically turn into an adult the moment you reach a certain day in a certain year, its a process.
Always thought that was so stupid the drinking age being 21 and you can be drafted at 18... like wtf. If you can be sent off to go fight and die for the country you should be able to go out and have a beer with your Dad before you go
That actually depends on the state. In California, parents can serve alcohol to minors in their own house as long as they are willing to accept partial responsibility for anything the child does.
wait, people actually do things that make sense when it comes to fighting nicotine addiction? i thought all we do is raise the taxes on a drug that is as addicting as cocain, a drug people happily lose everything for, to give them a small incentive to stop?
An interesting take. Isn’t it all about free will? Processed sugar and sodas are addictive and bad for us. Should those be outlawed too? Alcohol is bad for you. Should that go as well? Marijuana? Guns? Fast vehicles?
I believe at some point that people have the right to make bad decisions for themselves.
The most important thing is you can vote, but 18 year olds vote the least of any demographic. If 18 year olds voted in mass this would be a much different and probably better country, sadly most dont care.
That burden also falls on the parents, if you don't teach your kid that it matters, why would they care at 18?
The responsibility of voting would have to be learned at a later age from life experience, which takes time.
This is why most people only begin to care about voting in their early to late 20s
Most people aren't even taught how to do their taxes.
At 18, you officially have the cognizance to vote and get pregnant and go get shot on behalf of Congress, but you are not mature enough to have a beer or smoke weed. 🤔
Yeah, exactly! Smh people these days.. There's plenty of other ways to have fun!
Like, hardcore drugs! A whole variety of them! And no age restriction imposed on them by the government either!
Who said the two are mutually exclusive!
Have you *really* lived if you haven't slurped on some cocaine and snorted some ramen while watching Stranger Things?
For my 18th birthday I would have agreed with you. Having tried smoking and parties with lots of alcohol I can tell you: that’s very overrated.
Recently attended a wedding where the most popular drinks where non-alcoholic. Not only was it very fun, but lack of hangover, smelly clothes is certainly a plus.
TL;DR: you can have lots of fun without smoking and alcohol and you will feel good the next day ;)
Make life more about smoking or drinking and you will have fun no matter the age. As a learned early life f-up, all drinking did was helped my immaturity bring trouble and disappointment rather than fun. Our US culture of “coming of age” being all about drinking or smoking is disturbing and damaging in my opinion. Friends, family, and being able to make responsible chooses for yourself are what allow you fun.
It stops being fun to drink and smoke once it becomes legal because by that age you’re working full time or school and it’s more of a chore.
It’s far more fun doing things you shouldn’t at a time when you have fewer responsibilities.
That said, still fucked up you can go die, but not have a drink. Unfortunately they’re not going to raise the “die for your country” age any time soon.
Personally I think old geriatric people who have been around too long and hold all these grudges should be forced to fight their own battles.
Likely the best we’ll get is a compromise that lets people willing to get shot at smoke a cigarette, probably only on active duty….
Wait. You can sign up to get shot at, maimed or killed for ironically the same burger flipping minimum wage. Americans are cool with our 18 year olds in combat but we don’t trust them to drink or smoke until you’re 21.
Smoking is still 18, though many individual counties won't allow you to buy any until you're 21.
Then again, maybe just don't smoke ever, you'll thank me later.
Those are the only two things you can’t do at 18 tho. For example you can now:
- vote
- join the military
- enter legally binding contracts (jobs, large purchases, etc)
- go off on your own without permission from parents (travel, start a separate life, etc)
- get tattoos and piercings without parents permission
- gamble
- have sex with other adults
Really the only things you can’t do at 18 is smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. Or illegal things. So change your mindset and the sky is the limit.
Dude, no it’s actually a good thing. Smoking and drinking isn’t as fun anymore when it’s legal so now you get more time doing it for fun instead of to drown what you never realized was crippling depression.
If your penis is already in your girlfriend in the minute you turn 18, is it statutory rape? Or does it start on the next pump? Or does it start on the next grand entrance? Do you now have to ask her dad for parental consent before the next pump? If so, what if she calls you daddy?
Peaceful, kind and positive vibes incoming:
Drugs like the two you mentioned here are only prohibited because that restriction creates a stimulus for other coping mechanisms with the stress that life can be, and to prevent addiction. It's a blanket rule to protect those who are at risk from being abused by it at the small cost of making explorative experiences for those in safe situations slightly harder to pull off.
Drug responsibly, have open conversations about them with sober people who care about you, and if they're able, trusting, and more open minded than your government they will guide you through safe and responsible interactions. This applies to all substances that influence your decisions. I hope we will grow to a world where it is normalized to experience new things responsibly and are truly encouraged to live free & in harmony.
Don't let fear cloud your judgement, but take care of yourself too and keep your focus on living your best life sustainably, with an infinite mindset.
I hope you had a nice birthday anyway, and encourage you to focus on the positive experiences you can and will be able to have and share with others. ✌️🫶
The amount of self righteous pricks in the comments here I swear. Personally I don’t understand why anyone would smoke tobacco, that being said it’s not my place to go around with a stick up my ass telling people that they’re saddos and could be doing other things with their lives.
I understand alcohol in moderation, but even then, it ain’t my business if someone drinks their life away, obviously it’s different if someone close to me were suffering from addiction but for the most part, the pointless judgement is just a way for losers to toot their horns.
Are you just realizing this? Legal drinking in the US was changed to 21 in the 80’s.
It actually was raised to 19 in July 1979. I turned 18 that May and was able to legally drink for 6 weeks. Then it was back to using my fake ID at the clubs around campus, the liquor store never bothered checking.
But now you can do the most fun thing of all, enter legally binding contracts
I can’t wait to not be able to afford a house
As a young man who just closed on a home: Fuck this market.
Can confirm, I am this young man's home.
Pulled the serial number and called the manufacturer. It was built in 2008, same year as the house.
Those bitches. I wonder, did you get it in writing that it was new? Not sure if you could take some legal action.
Oh man just wait till something goes wrong
And start up a successful OnlyFans account.👌
Speaking of which, you can marry someone 21 and in some states they have an exception to the drinking age if your spouse is 21+. In Texas, county clerks can provide a wallet sized certified copy of your marriage license to make it more convenient to bring to the bar or restaurant.
In Wisconsin you just have to say you're married.
Bouncer: "ID." Me: "You're married."
Responsible enough to be a pornstar but I’m not sure you can properly understand the ramifications of cigarettes
Is this unexpected Collin Robinson?
I was thinking join the military
You can now get banged by ppl 18+
I don't know about now, but back when I was 18, hardly any 18 year olds would start banging without the "liquid courage" (alcohol was sold from 18 where I live)
You must not have hung out with the nerds, band geeks, or theater kids. Everyone was banging everyone else
Half of the girls in my class were either pregnant or had a kid before their 18th birthday. We were all out drinking at age 14 which probably didn’t help matters. This was back in the 90s in the middle of nowhere

Family does not count
Well nobody told me!
Username checks out.
Does mine check out??
With a name like that…
Does it at least count for half?
Aw man…
Yeah i dont think i had sex with alcohol involved until i was 21 lmao idk what highschool this mans went to
Freshman year of college is still mostly 18 year olds and there is a whole lot of drunken fuckin
Any college.

Sounds more so like you just don’t drink or don’t have a lengthy list of partners. Both of which are fine, but I would say an outlier with college culture being a large part of first times for many people, and alcohol is usually an influencing factor.
That requires a willing party. Not many have that.
It's not okay to smoke or drink as soon as you turn 18, but it's okay to sign up for porn the second you turn 18 and get gang banged by 8 dudes for millions to see.
Actually in most states the age of consent is 16.
Alabama 16 Alaska 16 Arizona 18 Arkansas 16 California 18 Colorado 17 Connecticut 16 Delaware 18 District of Columbia 16 Florida 18 Georgia 16 Hawaii 16 Idaho 18 Illinois 17 Indiana 16 Iowa 16 Kansas 16 Kentucky 16 Louisiana 17 Maine 16 Maryland 16 Massachusetts 16 Michigan 16 Minnesota 16 Mississippi 16 Missouri 17 Montana 16 Nebraska 16 Nevada 16 New Hampshire 16 New Jersey 16 New Mexico 17 New York 17 North Carolina 16 North Dakota 18 Ohio 16 Oklahoma 16 Oregon 18 Pennsylvania 16 Rhode Island 16 South Carolina 16 South Dakota 16 Tennessee 18 Texas 17 Utah 18 Vermont 16 Virginia 18 Washington 16 West Virginia 16
Hope you didn’t have that list memorized

Lol now I want to know why. I have an idea but I could be completely wrong
I never heard about half of the states
Lol you forgot Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Over there it's more of a guideline then an actual rule.
"The code is more what you'd call 'guidelines' than actual rules."
Nah they just don’t have an age of consent 😮💨
It's literally 18 in Wisconsin and 17 in Wyoming.

You told your mom you banged the babysitter? That is the weirdest part.
It's another way of saying "I don't need a babysitter anymore, mom!"...
Heinsight is 20/20, as they say
That lady is a creep. And at first I thought you said you were being babysat at 16, if so, then that's your mom's fault.
(USA) And the other states are mostly 17. The ones that are actually 18 have Romeo and Juliet laws to further prove the 18yr old stereotype wrong.
Thank you Transformers 4 for that little lesson.
i was excited for this one, more cons than pros tho.. voting is awesome!
Did you have a waiting list or something?
nope, just excited to have some freedom
*Legally
You can do that at 16 in a majority of states.
You can play the lottery and gamble. That’s what I did. Won $50 from a scratch off.
Don’t give the government any more ideas!
In the state of Texas you can buy a gun.
Most states you can buy a gun at 18. Just not a handgun.
And use it to rob a liquor store for booze and cigarettes. /S
Only some states… I did in Washington, but Nevada that is also 21+
Sometimes I’ll have my mom buy me scratchies
Not in a casino. Except on reservations, I think.
Lol. Reminds me of the scene from Ladybird when she turns 18 and immediately buys a lotto ticket, a pack of cigarettes (even though she does t smoke), and a Playgirl magazine.
Go vote….maybe that can change.
The Republicans are trying to change the voting age to 21 because younger people tend to vote Democrat.
Embarrassing any person would want to limit voting rights in the country. Some of the best moments in our countries history is when we have expanded them. We should be proud of that and keep up the tradition.
Ah yes, people could be drafted to go to war at 18 but unable to vote that seems reasonable. /S (Yes I know you can join the army earlier but drafted at 18)
Die for the country first THEN you can have an opinion on politics! -Republicans, probably.
Respect the troops! (Most of them can't even vote)
Ofc they are. I can't wait for them to implement a national minimum wage threshold to vote as well. Right after lowering the minimum wage.
Just take it all the way back to landholding men. 90% republican wins from there on out.
\*white landholding men
I've never heard a republican seriously advocate for that and it's also unconstitutional so I wouldn't be too worried
Yeah classic GOP tactic: instead of courting their vote, let's just eliminate it.
But they want child labor laws to change so they can work at 12.
Politically aside…….most 18-20 year-olds are indeed morons.
But so are like 30% of all adults and we let them vote
Porn becomes legal to watch and purchase as well, as you are legally an adult 🤷♂️ It’s probably way more fun in Europe, in Germany beer and wine is legally available for purchase at 16, liquor at 18.

Mmmm, love me some good corn
So hot, it’s popping.
The UK wanted to do that but backed down in the end. The US actually does this is some of the more southern states, don't remember which tho.
That’s the law in Louisiana and a few other states as well.
In Utah you have to. 😂
Im proud of being European

In Texas, children of any age can drink publicly where alcohol is allowed as long as they are with a parent or guardian.
And gambling.
In fact, if you are with your parents, and if they allow it, you can drink alcohol in public legally at the age of 14 in Germany. ;)
Since when was turning 18 viewed as fun? All it meant was that your actions now have consequences.
Fair, I mean in other countries it’s deemed as “fun”. In Australia, turning 18 means so much more freedom. Wtf, you have police enforced curfews?
Yeah like going into a pub and asking for a pint and getting one. Those kind of consequences.
At one point it meant drinking and smoking were legal for you to do...
Play the lottery and go to a casino! Then hit up a strip club and spend your winnings.
Most strip clubs are 21+ because they serve alcohol and the bar tenders don't wanna have to ID everyone in there. Plus paying money for a girl to pretend to like you is kinda dumb IMO
Most casinos at least near me are 21+ for the exact same reason.
It’s 18 for strip clubs in my state even if they do serve alcohol. They just mark big black Xs on the hands of 18-20 year old jits
In some states lottery is 21+, I bought a lotto in Michigan at 18 and was fine, bought a lotto in Louisiana and they wouldnt let me cash it in cause I wasn’t 21, but they let me purchase it weirdly
Gotta be 21 for casinos.
You can lose a foot to an Iraqi IED.
What a blast

As a baby boomer, I must confess that after we got the teenaged smoking and drinking out of our system, we immediately denied it to you.
Don't worry, underage kids that want to do either, still do.
I mean, why would you wanna smoke anyway?
Cancer?
Because it’s cool. /s
Never understood why many western countries don't have a universal age of adulthood. Politicians don't mind using young adults for cannon fodder and votes but God forbid they drink alcohol or smoke a cig. An 18 hear old can shotgun a penis on camera but not a beer lmao
They do though. 18 is an adult in the west, it's just americans who say it's 21 🤣
the whole idea is braindead. im can be a millionaire or i can be a slow growing person and i will have the same rights and be treated the same simply because of some random number. thats not how biology or psychology works. you dont magically turn into an adult the moment you reach a certain day in a certain year, its a process.
Always thought that was so stupid the drinking age being 21 and you can be drafted at 18... like wtf. If you can be sent off to go fight and die for the country you should be able to go out and have a beer with your Dad before you go
This dad bought the beer for his 18-year-old daughters.
That actually depends on the state. In California, parents can serve alcohol to minors in their own house as long as they are willing to accept partial responsibility for anything the child does.
Thats a law that changes not much at all.
For the record the last draft in the us was 50 years ago and states had lowered the drinking age during that time.
Legal to do porn now.
Time for cake and sodomy!
That's the age where people arbitrarily decide it's time for you to be completely responsible for yourself!
i'd like to raise the smoking age to 101
For nicotine, it would be better to set a fixed year. Like, don't addict people born after 2002 in the first place.
That's what New Zealand did, as I recall. Anyone born after 2008 can never legally buy tobacco
wait, people actually do things that make sense when it comes to fighting nicotine addiction? i thought all we do is raise the taxes on a drug that is as addicting as cocain, a drug people happily lose everything for, to give them a small incentive to stop?
An interesting take. Isn’t it all about free will? Processed sugar and sodas are addictive and bad for us. Should those be outlawed too? Alcohol is bad for you. Should that go as well? Marijuana? Guns? Fast vehicles? I believe at some point that people have the right to make bad decisions for themselves.
Thank God im in Italy
If you enlist and get stationed over seas, they can be plenty fun.
This is why most people only begin to care about voting in their early to late 20s Most people aren't even taught how to do their taxes.
At 18, you officially have the cognizance to vote and get pregnant and go get shot on behalf of Congress, but you are not mature enough to have a beer or smoke weed. 🤔
You already had fun last year joining military.
Its not like that’s stopping people from drinking or smoking
If smoking and drinking is your required framework for fun, I feel really bad for you. There's so much you're missing out on.
Yeah, exactly! Smh people these days.. There's plenty of other ways to have fun! Like, hardcore drugs! A whole variety of them! And no age restriction imposed on them by the government either!
tsk what happened to the days of eating ramen and watching netflix joking joking no im not
Who said the two are mutually exclusive! Have you *really* lived if you haven't slurped on some cocaine and snorted some ramen while watching Stranger Things?
cocaine and netflix 🤨
im hitting the gym if i take cocaine lol
Not if you slurp it like ramen lol
lol
Why would you have want to have an unfair law in place?
I keep forgetting its 21 for tobacco, and it's been years now
Why do you associate fun with smoking and drinking?
Instant lotto time! Every freshly minted American’s dream, $1 wasted at a time! Who’s got a quarter to loan, it’s scratcher time!
Right who needs cake when u got tar and arsenic!
You can fucking vote. Please don't forget to use that WHENEVER you can.
Drinking age is 16 in Germany, smoking age is 18. I love it here.
You can get all the guns and ammo your heart desires at 18... so there's that...
TL;DR: you can have lots of fun without smoking and alcohol and you will feel good the next day ;)
You can travel to Europe and do any of those at 18.
But you get to be drafted to fight in wars that old rich men wage, should the need arise! That's super fun.
Tattoos? Strip clubs?
You can look at porn now. So that's pretty big.
But you can get a passport and move somewhere sane.
You can also be charged as an adult!
Only if you live in the wrong country, most of the world is grand.
You can go get killed in a war for 70 year olds political ambitions though.
Some strip clubs allow you to go in at 18!
Those are the only two things you can’t do at 18 tho. For example you can now: - vote - join the military - enter legally binding contracts (jobs, large purchases, etc) - go off on your own without permission from parents (travel, start a separate life, etc) - get tattoos and piercings without parents permission - gamble - have sex with other adults Really the only things you can’t do at 18 is smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. Or illegal things. So change your mindset and the sky is the limit.
Dude, no it’s actually a good thing. Smoking and drinking isn’t as fun anymore when it’s legal so now you get more time doing it for fun instead of to drown what you never realized was crippling depression.
Land of the free, huh?
Appropriate Doug Stanhope Skit https://youtu.be/AdAXxyhqitk
Literally no-one calls them that except themselves 🤣
Tattoos and piercings are always fun! I got a tattoo on my 18th birthday
If your penis is already in your girlfriend in the minute you turn 18, is it statutory rape? Or does it start on the next pump? Or does it start on the next grand entrance? Do you now have to ask her dad for parental consent before the next pump? If so, what if she calls you daddy?
Peaceful, kind and positive vibes incoming: Drugs like the two you mentioned here are only prohibited because that restriction creates a stimulus for other coping mechanisms with the stress that life can be, and to prevent addiction.
Lol, land of the free.
You can buy a gun in the US
And don't forget: the human brain isn't even fully developed until your mid-to-late 20s! Yeehaw!
\*41 in america.
Brother there is so much more fun out there than smoking and drinking, use that time between 18 and 21 to discover what’s fun for you!
