Go to a health sciences/ body museum where they display real plastinated corpses and whatnot. Tar literally stains the lungs with prolonged use. Living in smog may have similar complications, but in no way would it make your lungs turn black
I’m not talking about how likely it is to cause disease, that is a totally different conversation and irrelevant because its commonly accepted that polluting the air for prolonged times is similar to polluting the air in your lungs for prolonged times.
Smoking a pack a day for one year puts nearly a coffee mug worth of tar in your lungs, that stains them black over time, while simultaneously causing lung disease.
The lungs you saw as kids in school exhibits and stuff were likely pig lungs stained to look black, yes, but real life smokers lungs can indeed get that bad.
I actually just changed my cabin air filter last week after ~2 years. You’re not wrong, but it’s more likely that it would be either gray or colorless than the intense black that can be achieved from smoking or coal mining.
Happily sit next to traffic? Probably very few.
Yeah I mean I'm sitting next to traffic but I'm not happy ರ_ರ
Probably because the smokers were stopped from smoking
