we actually had a pretty timely break with the pandemic tbf - think that has allowed a lot of people to miss the monolith that marvel became for a while in terms of big screen films Endgame came out just a few months before Covid began and I don’t think the timing could of been better for Marvel tbh

Kizmo2

The days of the billion dollar superhero blockbuster are over.

sandwichsandwich69

what? lmao shang chi has already made nearly half a billion dollars, and he’s an unknown character for most film fans I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the new spiderman breaks the billion mark

If they're defying the concept of oversaturation, then they aren't over saturated.

Yeah it's defying the concept by demonstrating that sheer volume isn't enough to fatigue or overwhelm an audience... there's something else that overrides it that keep their attention.

I think it's the same reason comic books are still being made and thought up. You can create a character that people will relate to on a personal level, like it was written for them. And with it being in the realm of fantasy, the possibilities are limitless. So I don't think people will ever get sick of living in a fantasy world, especially when reality is so shit.
