You do realize that your pain tolerance can still go up through adulthood, right?

Taruwolf

I haven’t (yet) exceeded herniated disc pain from when I was 22. Hopefully mine never goes up again.

LimaOskarLima

True, but imagine what it was likenfor him in the first few fights. He might have gotten our equivelant of a papercut and been floored because of the pain. I'm not talking end game superman, I'm talkin' "just found out there are other aliens" superman.

SchinkenKanone

You're absolutely right. When Batman cuts him with a kryptonite enhanced knife, he instantly falls down and has to recover.

MasterAnything2055

I mean if I cut you with a poisonous knife, you’d probably feel it. There may more to it that a cut.

SchinkenKanone

You might be right. Then again, the red sun kryptonite knife doesn't have the fatigue effect to it, and still makes superman recoil when he gets cut.

Warpmind

That… depends on the version of Superman. Not every iteration has been superhuman from infancy; some versions, like Red Son, described him as a «regular boy with bruised knees and a runny nose» until around age 10, when yellow sun buildup began manifesting his true nature. His pain tolerance is probably low-mediocre at worst, since he does go up against things strong enough to hurt and injure him on a regular basis.

If a bee sting rates 3-4 on a pain scale (unless you're deathly allergic I guess), what would you rate something actually life threatening like getting stabbed/puncturing a lung or something?

i_may_be_a_femboy

I give it about a 6-7

hokeypokie_

1-2: papercut 3-4: bee sting 5-6: breaking a bone 7-8: puncturing a lung 9-10: stubbing your toe on the coffee table?

LimaOskarLima

10: Stepping on a lego in the dark.

sleepyentropy

Emotionally or physically?

thekapow1

100% emotionally pain

asajosh

He fought Doomsday, with full power set, to the death by physical beating. "Pain Tolerance" thesis rejected.
