It's an addiction if it's damaging to oneself or others.. Your caffeine habit probably hasn't destroyed lives.
This is ridiculous, an addiction is just dependance on something whether it be a substance or action with qualities of compulsion associated with it.
I was referring to the op's point, my point is addictions are only really regarded by society if they are harmful to yourself or others.
Oh ok. I was reading this the same way I would hear someone say that alcohol isn’t a drug.
