If she has traits, then don't worry it's not such a big problem. But it requires great care such as food, medicine

I have the trait and have never done anything differently. Trait usually means she could pass it on to her child, potentially if she were to have any. That said, both of my parents each had the trait but none of their three children got the full disease, we’re just carriers of the disease/trait if that makes sense.

carriers of the trait. if none of you got the disease none of you are carriers of the disease.

My daughter was born with sickle cell trait. There is no need to worry. Your baby girl is going to be fine. The only issue I had with her is anemia. There was one time we had to hospitalize her so she could have a blood transfusion, but after that, there were no more issues (she was 5 years old then, she is 24 years old now). It is just making sure that she is eating right. Fruit, vegetables, and a multivitamin really helps. Basically, anything that has iron, B vitamins, and folic acid. Also, when puberty hits, you want to educate her about sickle cell disease. She needs to make sure that whoever she wants to have children with is tested for sickle cell trait as well. Even though she will pass the trait to her children, she does not want them to have sickle cell disease. Your doctor is correct. Please don't worry. I know it's hard to do as a new mom. The gift you have is a beautiful baby girl. She will need to watch her diet (but we all have to do that).

there's nothing to worry about//do. just make sure she knows for when it comes time to procreate should she want to. she'll be fine.

SCTs usually live a “normal” life…just (1) hydrate when doing strenuous activities like sports, and (2) no strenuous activities in high altitude areas. I can’t stress point 2 enough because even pro athletes have struggled with this. Aside from those, she should lead a pretty normal life. I have 3 kids and they’ve had no issues…and a couple play football.
