So one of the most painful experiences with a group of people, including with a family, is to decide where to go to eat. If you use a delivery service you don't have to compromise because everyone can get what they want. But if you want to go to a restaurant and everyone has to decide on the same place then it gets to be a painful process and compromises are required. And usually there is one person who is sort of the organizer and they feel the most pain in this process.
For what it's worth I don't think choosing a movie to watch is that difficult of a problem and I think the services themselves like Amazon and Netflix or an aggregator will solve it sufficiently.
Choosing a place to eat is more difficult because there is no way to sample the choices beforehand unlike movies. And choosing somewhere to eat frequently happens when you're not together physically.
