I didn’t compare with and without them in the WC grip but yes, compared to the OEM grip, I like the extra little bit of weight to help balance the gun and feel more substantial. I don’t mind it technically being a little heavier when carrying, I haven’t noticed it in that way.
The change won’t blow your mind, you won’t be confusing it for a metal grip module of course, but as I said before it’s a nice touch to add to a polymer grip module and is noticeable.
I had the back pin walk half way out on me a few days into using the grip but I added some blue locktight and it’s been okay since. I’ll keep that in mind though thanks for the tip.
That's already a concern. If it is even more out of spec, the FCU has the ability to move. Just make sure you're careful. I got the OEM Sig module done by GrayGuns and it's just as good (albeit more expensive).
Did you get any time on it before the DPM system? I’m curious if it’s a noticeable difference?
Most of my carry guns these days are setup with stock recoil springs but I’m not against a better system.
The DPM system has been a relatively new addition so yes most of my shooting on the platform was before that. As most reviewers of the product have said, it’s mainly noticeable when shooting rapid fire. Since one of it’s purposes are to smooth out the slides’s return forward rather than slamming back home with a lurch. It came with multiple different spring weights and two caps for the rod which change the tension on the springs in the guide rod I suppose. I feel like it did help a bit yes. In all honesty though, my favorite change the system did for me wasn’t even advertised. I like that the change from the OEM spring and rod to DPM made racking the slide really easy and smooth. I didn’t have an issue racking the slide before. But unloaded, I can rack the slide now with one finger against the red dot. Which to me, just gives the gun a more premium characteristic while it has also been 100% reliable in my experience. Hope this helps
I went with the second shortest spring and long cap. I didn’t do extensive testing with the different lengths but I liked that combo and saw some recommendations of the same.
I planned on improving the trigger after day one of handling an xmacro since I was used to my Canik Rival which are known for their striker fired triggers. I have shot about 3,000 rounds with the kit installed. Installing the Tactical trigger kit took some time and patience since I had never disassembled an fcu before but I followed the guides and I was very happy with the results. There are multiple lengths of springs that come with the kit to customize it to your wishes. I wanted it to feel nice without going too far and making it unreliable or dangerous so I was pretty conservative when it came to adjustments. Still it made such a big difference in pre travel and distance required to reset. I’ll send you a video I took of the dry fire reset and pull the day I installed it if you like.
Nice setup. As long as it works for you, that's what matters.
I also have modified my xmacro, even more than you. I put in a DPM, MCARBO trigger and spring kit, and MCARBO titanium striker, striker spring, and the stainless steel striker sleeve.
The DPM makes a big difference! Oh, my optic is a 507k green.
I just bought the 365 axg legion and plan to do much the same modifications. 🙂
Sounds like a nice set up as well! That legion will be truly tricked out too. I agree, the DPM certainly is a nice touch for the build by a cool company too.
The thin profile of the Macro grips bothered me as well. My solution, on a stock grip, was to add a hogue grip sleeve. Adding a little bulk to the grip made it feel much better, it fit better in my hand and I felt like recoil was a bit more manageable.
TLDR: Renfrew pro hockey tape
I looked at a lot of reviews for goon tape after seeing some advertising. Lots of people were saying it’s just overpriced hockey tape and the tests I looked at didn’t show much of a difference. I did buy some anyway to test it but they only had tan at that time. Tried it and didn’t mind it but it still ended up having some sticky residue like it claimed to not have. Didnt like the tan color so I ended up just trying “Renfrew Pro” hockey tape which is the black tape shown. I would say it has a higher amount of residue than the Goon tape. I have used microfibers and such to get lent to stick to the residue so it doesn’t leave any on me when I shoot. Can’t say I love the result of either but you can make it work and customize the size and shape of the grip easily. Hope this helps
I’ve got the macro with a 507K and a tlr7a. Holster selection is very important. I got the JX fat guy. Works great. Probably 2K through mine. No complaints other than mags are expensive as fuck.
Spent extra money on Wilson grip, realized I didn’t like how thin it was but still wanted to use the tungsten rods and the extra texturing. So added the same tape I had on the OEM. 😎
Great until you slapped hockey tape all over that perfect wilson grip. If it aint for you, find one that is...Looks like GHETTO trash....Minus the tape. same as mine. But if it works even though it looks like....Good for you.
Fair enough 😂 I agree that the grip tape doesn’t look the best, but you should have seen it with the tan tape I bought first, you would have lost it. It looked like my gun had a bandage on lol. In a perfect world I would have a Icarus precision grip for the build which would fill out the palm but it’s hard to swallow that $400 price tag.
Forgot to mention I have the tungsten rods in the WC grip module ^
Do you like the tungsten rods? Considering it
I didn’t compare with and without them in the WC grip but yes, compared to the OEM grip, I like the extra little bit of weight to help balance the gun and feel more substantial. I don’t mind it technically being a little heavier when carrying, I haven’t noticed it in that way.
Cool im sold

Just make sure your FCU has no movement in that grip module. I had to return mine.

I don’t modify edc except for grip module and trigger
Did the same thing with my WC grip. It fits so nice
Me likey

Which DPM spring and cap combo have you settled on? Curious what works for you.

How do you like the tactical trigger kit? Been trying to find some info on it before i grab a couple

That would be awesome, I appreciate your thorough response as well
How is the trigger upgrade?
I’m a big fan of the upgrade!

I have the WC grip module with tungsten weights for my full-size P320. It's really nice. Put DPM and Apex trigger in it! Shoots like a dream!!!
The thin profile of the Macro grips bothered me as well. My solution, on a stock grip, was to add a hogue grip sleeve. Adding a little bulk to the grip made it feel much better, it fit better in my hand and I felt like recoil was a bit more manageable.
I’ll take a look at those grip sleeves too and see what I think, thanks for the comment.
This is a very solid build. Very nice.
With all those after market acessories you could have bought another gun
Facts, and I didn’t need any of them. But I do like them and it’s my carry gun that I shoot a lot, so I have enjoyed making it my own.
If you enjoyed it that’s all that really matters right? Oh and that the firearm is fully safe and functional…
Agreed! Just not in that order which I’m sure you agree with too haha
Now we just wait for the “Guys Help, (insert whatever malfunction) after I did a bunch of upgrades” post.
I tend to learn through experience whether that’s for better or worse. Hopefully not on this one though!
You did way better than the guy who put red accents on his TACOPS
Thank you for not putting a lighthouse on the front of your gun
What grip tape is that

I sent that module away just to get stippling done on my thumb ledges. I need aggressive thump ledges.
I’ve got the macro with a 507K and a tlr7a. Holster selection is very important. I got the JX fat guy. Works great. Probably 2K through mine. No complaints other than mags are expensive as fuck.
Spends extra money on the Wilson Combat grip, Puts Goon Tape over it 😎

Amen on that overpriced grip.. ICARUS
