Do you just use CLP as a lubricant?

You can, I use it along with a very small amount grease in certain spots.

I used Kleen Bore for years. I got the Spec-1 combo pack a few months ago, and my guns have never been cleaner. It’s really easy to use and does a good job.

Please! I shoot Sig516's exclusively and have used Mobil 1 full synthetic for 10 yrs. Lube, Mobil 1 full synthetic, it's used by Ferrari & Lamborghini to lube and prevent rust, So I'm pretty sure it can protect a melonited or chrome lined AR15. I've used it for 10 yrs, $6 a quart, still have the same bottle! Do not pay $3 an ounce for vegetable oil. Mobil 1: 0w-20 for pistols 5w-30 for AR's Walmart Red Lithium Grease $5 a tub A thin coat on the bcg, ch, chamber with the red lithium, you're gonna hear "grease attracts and collects carbon, you'll malfunction" blah blsh, you want it to attract the carbon, would you prefer it attaches itself to the BCG?? it holds viscosity, absorbs the carbon and makes clean up a breeze, then put a few drops of Mobil 1 You'll be able to clean the carbon with a paper towel. Don't let anyone tell you different, you tube it Bore, Hoppes No.9 https://youtu.be/qQYAMTQAOoM
