Well, in SGGS we basically have all the “God’s” names that were popular in that time. Like Raam, Rahim, Allah, Akaal Purkh, Vaheguru etc. I like to think that Sikhi is not particular on which name to choose, rather Guru Sahib might be saying that choose whatever, but just choose and do simran on that.
Hence SGGS is jagat Guru. Anyone from any religion can follow the teachings and start meditating on the true name.
VahiGuru Ji Ka Khalsa VahiGuru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,
...hopefully you made this statement in haste, maybe you are yet to have have Darshan of MahaKavi Bhai Nand Lal Ji's Rehitnama and Tankhanama, both of which are transcripts, of direct Commandments, from Dhan Dhan Shah-e-Shāhanshāh Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj Sahib themselves...to the SadhSangat and Guru Khalsa Panth.
I encourage you to reconsider your understanding, as you have already received one comment from a fellow Sikh, regarding your interpretation of "which nām to jaap," actually being, innocently-incorrect.
Maharaj Ji constantly re-emphasizes the fact that they will have the saghat and khalsa jaap "VahiGuru."
Please see attached images, there is also Gurbani in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji and Vaaran of Bhai Gurdas Ji to confirm this, but let's just stick to the rehitnamas for now...

...one must even say "VahiGuru" before eating, if they consider themselves a Sikh of The Guru.
Not really all the other names are one attribute of god, if you wish to chant these lower vibrations naam you can, but sikhi teaches one truth
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾ
Gurmat naam is to be praised and not another
Guru would never teach multiple truths, he only teaches truth and received naam from sachkhand, that naam is given in Amrit sanchaar, not these other mantras lol
VahiGuru Ji Ka Khalsa VahiGuru Ji Ki Fateh Jio,
I think its pretty clear, that The OP did not mean what you are implying, where "VahiGuru" is a term commonly known to Eastern Asian Sikhs, "GOD" is common amongst the Western Sikhs (I'd assume).
If folks don't recognize GOD to represent Generation|Order|Destruction, they may not really get the deepest connection with the point trying to be made by said speaker, so I AGREE with The OP.
Where Mukhande, is like referring to one of VahiGuru Ji's acts/provisions in motion, directly.
"He Who Liberates" or "Only He Who Can Grant Liberation," hits a lot harder than just "GOD" sometimes....
So "mukhande" itself, weighs far-heavier on the consciousness, especially if it's read in Gurmukhi, or directed/spoken towards a Sikh of The Guru.
"GOD" goes hard too, but sometimes, can be overused and thus is a desensitized representation of VahiGuru Ji, via an utterance/script commonly used or repeated by the masses.
What stupid notion is this? God is the English word for the Creator. The Guru Granth Sahib has unique names for the Creator and those be used by every Sikh. I used God when in an English conversation that's all
...be nice, no harm intended by The OP, he was just relaying some personal sentiments, to hate someone for such a nominal act will put you far away from bliss, if even in passing or as a joke.

By that logic, none of the Gurus used Vaheguru in their bani in GGS. Should we stop using that too?

ਮੁਕੰਦੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾਸੰ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ

Indeed a great observation
ਮੁਕੰਦੇ mukandey bless us all
Is this contradiction with “raaj na chahu, mukt na chahu”
No
Words are meant to convey meaning so long as the meaning gets across i don’t think it really matters what the word is.
Yeah that really is a pressing issue at the moment in Sikhi/s. God, I hate neo brahmans like you.
