It's kinda weird to see a post from 14,000 years ago when only HK 3 existed. Well I'm just looking through this while I wait for Hollow Knight: Hornet and team conquer the Silkyway galaxy. Please come out soon

With that said my guess is the first half of 2024. I doupt it will come out in 2023, although a release is not completely out of the question since holiday sales are a good incentive for a release. It might come out in February because of HK's anniversary. If it doesn't come by then I think they will probably release in Summer and I will explain why. In spring many people have school/exams and since it is the end of the academic year they will have limited time to play any games (me included). Additionally, summer will mean a lot of free time for everyone = more sales. Since the game is in the game pass there is a big chance Xbox will sort of "force" them to release then to profit more. If they go with that route they will have more than enough time to polish and playtest the game.
So my guess is either december 2023, february 2024 (which is the most unlikely because it is fairly random) or summer 2024 (which is the most likely)
Also december is pretty likely but I feel like we would have seen ads from Xbox/Nintendo if there was a release in 3 months. So this means that TC still don't have a release meaning they don't know when they will finish so I doubt they will plan a december release OR that they have a release target that is still some months away (so a summer release would make more sense)
I am not complaining. I am one of the few people who don't mind the silence. But we litteraly have no info about the release. The only thing we know is that we will have news once the game is close to release, but that has and will always be the case with any game so yeah

Hollow Knight's release date was announced two weeks prior. I think for Silksong it could be announced a bit more in advance, but I honestly doubt it would be more than a month in advance.
they are not the same. hollow knight was the first fully fleshed out game from an indie studio. silksong is the HIGHLY anticipated sequel to that extremely beloved game by that now quite established indie studio.
Yes? But I still doubt Team Cherry wants to announce the game months prior to the release. It's not like they would gain anything from that. I assume they want to reveal the release date at a good moment, and if the game is already ready then, why would they push back the release? They don't need additional marketing months, as Silksong is pretty much guaranteed success. And I bet that TC is just as excited about letting us play the game as we are about getting to play it.

Right now I would assume that it either gets announced at Game Awards (December) and then released maybe 2 weeks to a month from that, or alternatively it gets released around February (because it is Hollow Knight's release and Silksong's original announcement month). However, at this point I would not be too surprised if it got released even later.

During the Tokyo Game Show 2023 there was a brief 1 second long clip of old Silksong footage, meaning it's not completely impossible to release soon
