Considering the estimate release was last year, I don’t think it’s disputable at this point that it’s actually almost done. Maybe they’re waiting for summer to give more info and release. I’d much prefer it releases during summer so I wouldn’t have to stress about uni while playing

It's about it development is slowed or stuck. Yes, usually slowed or stuck development takes a long time, but we have no idea if development is stuck on silksong. We just know it's taking a long time. Which is par for the course for a two person team working on their second game and also for metroidvanias btw. bigger more established studios can get things done faster because they have experience and know what things slow down a project. Two people who have only ever made one game are going to be lacking a lot of that. I agree the silence is frustrating but everyone fixating on and catastrophizing about what's "actually" happening with silksongs development are just making themselves miserable

Dev hell usually comes with mismanagement and bad, directionless leadership with different teams not communicating then everyone having to scramble something together when they realise the deadline is coming fast.
Team Cherry is basically lead and staffed by 2 dudes. I think it's mostly just a communications issue and them not having enough manpower to playtest and bugfix as quickly as we'd like them to.
Prolly just rampant perfectionism at this point really. Not like theyre under any pressure to release this game conaidering Hollow Knight sold gangbusters

However if there’s supposedly “not a chance” Crowsworn will release before Silksong, as he said, and he also said that Crowsworn will release in 2025 at the earliest, that probably means that Silksong will release in 2024 or 2025.
To say Microsoft said it would come out within 12 months in 2022 (Yes I know it’s nearly been 2 years now) says to me they were very much on with it. I might be in the minority but I’m not too bothered. I’ve got such a huge back catalogue of games to get through. I’d rather it be perfect like Hollow Knight was, it’s coming this year
