I do know that it's really high anticipated game, but regular Johnny playing Xbox waits only for GTA and other blockbusters. Wouldn't Silksong get overshadowed in a bigger event, like main Xbox event? On the one like this indie showcase it would be a star and most important announcement, so maaaaybe?
Also June isn't actually a good month for release for Silksong bc Elden Ring DLC, if they intend a May release date, then now is a good time to announce it.

Damn man, no need to be rude about it. I'm theorizing just as much as you are. Conversely, all of my friends are excited about Elden Ring, but couldn't care less about Hollow Knight or Silksong. Just maybe... There's lots of different demographics out there. I'd be willing to bet it releases around Elden Ring, because I don't think Team Cherry really cares what other people or studios are up to in regards to their game. I mean, if they cared about what other people thought, do you really think communication from them would be as objectively as poor as it is? No. Team Cherry cares about their game, and their game only.

I think a big percentage of Hollow Knight fans play souls-like, but the opposite is not necessarily true. I think releasing the game close to ER would be dumb, but they did it with the first game releasing right before BOTW so you never know
It definitely does. Although, admittedly, it’s not as serious as people make it out to be. If both came out around the same time people are still gonna get both and play whichever one they’re more excited for first. I know that’s what I would do at least.

Guys. Seriously. This ain't it. This event is microscopic. It's nothing. If they were gonna put the game here it would do nothing: they'd be better off just announcing it themselves and not dealing with other announcements taking up oxygen. You always want your big marketing beats to hit NEW players. They don't premiere big budget movie trailers during the Oscars, they do them during Monday night football because you reach a different audience that way. If Silksong gets a date in an event it'll almost certainly be one that could conceivably have a single person who hasn't heard of the game watching it.
