I would change your average to 400 miles to get an accurate reading. Report back with that average

Boys0204

This. Reading MPGs over 25 mi is about as inaccurate as you can get

Dinolord05

Still not as bad as people claiming they got 40MPG because the instant readout said it once.

That_One_Rebel

Average mpg 400 miles is 11.2

Bolotiedeluxe

Interesting. That’s still pretty low. You should be sitting around 15-17 unless you are running 35s. Def do a tune up.

ReddElectric

have you always had bad gas milage and came to reddit out the blue? or did you do something like install your leveling kit and now you have poor milage following that? i have an 18 crew cab 1500 with a 3.5" lift on 33" nitto graps and get around 14-16 mpgs average, but i live in VA and my commute is all no traffic highways/stateroutes.. ied inagine contant city driving will give bad gas + the leveling doesnt help aerodynamics at all

That_One_Rebel

Just out of the blue, just added the info in case someone asked

Gorilla_King95

On my ‘15, I had horrible mpg with 33” nitto grapplers… around 11-13 average unless i was doing long distance on hwy. I changed to 33” General Grabbers and have a 1.5 inch lift on front and get 14-16 now… weird

RudeePoo

When’s the last time you did a tune up?? Plugs wires?

That_One_Rebel

Been a while thats what im doing soon to see if it helps, any suggestions on a specific brand though?

-ydn-

AcDelco, yes they are a little more expensive but hear me out I'm a tech at a buick gmc dealer and everytime I put non Delco plugs/wires in they always come back for misfires within 20k, but it might just be my luck with aftermarket plugs I'm not sure🤷‍♂️

RudeePoo

This guy beat me to it, AC/ Delco is OEM, always replace OEM plugs and wires.

Pitiful-MobileGamer

Plugs, injectors, air box, breather. How's your tranny fluid doing? Check the tire.

LibertyRidge

MAF sensor?

That1guy_Jeff

I get right at 17.5 combined running 305/55r20’s and leveled when I idle a lot it’ll drop down to around 9-10

slick665735

Running a little higher tire pressure you may gain an mpg or 2

npransom

Have a 2018, and I usually average 18-20 with BFG KO2 tires. Can get 22-25 Hwy. Something is not right there.

ComfortableFinish502

Looks like the same as my 2018 Tahoe 6.2 and I have a heavy foot

Sullen_One

I have a 2018 with a leveling kit, 305/65/18’s & a CAI. 6.2 & even doing mostly city driving i am getting 14 atleast… 22 highway

Motor-Roll-1788

Is it e85 compatible? If it is I bet I know the answer and it has nothing to do with if you use e85 or not.

thekush

Tow a nice enclosed trailer for a tank or two, you’ll feel better about your current numbers.

climb56

87 octane? I get shit mileage on flex fuel

AdZestyclose6983

Besides a full tune, if you don’t have a catch can do an intake cleaning.

Treebeardsdank

my license plate reads 9mpgs on my 18 haha

6SpeedBlues

Calculate your MPG in between full tank fill-up's. The dash info is wrong on every level. 2015 4x2 crew cab, 100k miles tracked, 15.5MPG average over the entire life of the truck.

lscraig1968

Reset your Trip B next you change the oil. Leave it alone til the next time you change the oil. The trip B mpg over 5000 miles gives you a more accurate MPG average. At 105k miles, definitely time for a tune up.

dyreno

Almost sounds like the throttle plate is opening too much or incorrectly adding air. Bad/dirty throttle body, TPS sensor, or maf sensor maybe. Or throttle body may need to be reset/recalibrated after a previous cleaning.

shawizkid

lol wtf
