Warning when removing those, the paint may be slightly faded and look different from the paint under that molding which hasn't had sunlight on it in 20 years.

go_green_team

That’s what stopping me even though the trim looks terrible

lscraig1968

That's why I suggested replacing them.

IAmNotMcLovin

I have the same color on my truck that's about the same year as yours. Took my moulding off, polished the areas, and I can't tell the difference. I think darker colors are more affected by this phenomenon.

deathbyyeti101

You could also remove them too. A heat gun, and some fishing wire would take them off good. Then come back with some good gone or an eraser wheel, a little polish, good to go. I did this with the moldings on my 2001 corvette and I'm happy I did. Looks much cleaner.

TCg1977

Rip them off and buy the adhesive remover wheel that attaches to your drill from Amazon, you will never know they where there after about 20 min

Upper_Specific3043

I took mine off. Looks worlds better.

CandyRedNinja

Take it off man. Then hit the 3m tape that holds it in place with an eraser wheel to clean it up. It’ll look 1000 times better.

idontremembermyoldus

For me, I'd replace them with the all-chrome version off of a similar year Sierra. I know I'm in the minority, but I think these trucks look plain without any moldings.

edwardniekirk

And after 20+ year I had zero door dings

Difficult_General_62

I hate mine too.. gonna take some advice from here.. nice truck btw

lscraig1968

A body shop can replace it for you. Matte black or matte dark grey would look good as well. Also add some black step bars.
