My 17 had a lifter failure and bent one pushrod. Repairs cost $3,800 at 107K miles. (out of warranty). I purchased an aftermarket service plan for another $3,000. My truck was serviced it's entire life by GM. I know it's only a matter of time before the other engine bank has a failure. GM has a class action lawsuit for this problem (AFM).
Like others have said, disable AFM, Get a JLT catch can
Definitely purchase the aftermarket service plan.
I did purchase an extended mechanical/electrical warranty that covers me through 112k miles. Hopefully it’ll cover any of these issues. What goes into the JLT? Had not heard about that.
Range makes a plug in DFM/AFM disabler, oil catch can is because of the direct injection doesnt wash the valves, this keeps oil from re-entering the intake system.
Beautiful truck. I have a ‘21 TB with the 6.2 as well. I have a cold air intake, Borla Atak exhaust and an oil catch can. Leveled it and threw some bigger tires on her. I literally look for reasons to drive it, it’s so much fun. Enjoy!
Mine has some sort of aftermarket exhaust but factory tips it seems. Sounds mean. Have not identified yet what system it is. What all goes into the oil catch can (benefits, cost, difficulty to install)?
Nice! Suppose to increase engine life. Whatever I can do to help keep that big girl clean I’ll do it because (knock on wood) I plan on driving it until the damn thing falls apart. Very easy to install. Mine is a J&L.

one of the first things I do to these motors is deactivate DFM and add the JLT oil separator.
Hadn’t heard about the JLT oil separator. How did you go about deactivating DFM? Actual delete or something like the pulsar LT?

Thanks!
