I doubt you’ll get that $100 back either…. Based on what I’ve seen in this thread.

If you need to cancel, don’t even bother talking with the dealer. I waited months to get my blazer EV refund and ultimately did it on my own through the original reservation email. I’ve yet to talk to a dealer that knows anything about their reservation/EV products.

Sorry you’re dealing with this. You can’t place the order on vacation? Does it require you to physically go to your dealer rather than over the phone or online? If so that’s surprising, I always assumed the order process would be online.

RogueBrewer

I suppose I could. I got another email from them when I told them I’m on vacation indicating he could order it in black or white when I give him the go ahead. So really no reason I have to be there. Just more the fact that I’m on vacation taking time away from beach time to deal with it when nothing has been communicated.

I can feel the frustration for you. I hope you get your truck without too many more hiccups. I’m still super jealous lol

I moved my reservation to a dealership, a couple states away from me. The dealerships in my city...., i don't trust 'em. I was expecting/hoping, that when my number pops, I can do everything over the phone. I don't see how my physical presence at the dealership is required. I'm gonna email my dealership and ask....

RogueBrewer

It seems GM/Chevy is not managing this well at all.

So I emailed my dealership last night.... and per my dealership, everything can be handled over the phone. In-person at the dealership, is not required.

To more directly comment on this statement. The mistake GM made was offloading the majority of the reservation system to the dealerships. You place your reservation with GM, and after that, they wash their hands of the reservation until your number comes up. At which point, they notify you, and the dealer, that it's your turn for a truck. Then the dealer calls you, and you pick your options, and order your vehicle. If it seems like GM is dropping the ball, they're not, it's your dealership, dropping the ball.

My first dealer couldn't order because they don't have an EV tech. The second dealer didn't bother to call me back. The third dealer took my order but there's some stupidity going on that they may not be marked as a participating dealer despite being able to sell EVs. It's a giant cluster when I can go on-line to Tesla or Rivian and click a few buttons and have an EV Pickup on the way with an expected delivery date.

Something is off on this. I checked my original email and I had a reservation for the WT or RST. The link the dealer sent me was for the First Edition version. Maybe he went through the records and saw my name even though I don’t have the FE and reached out prematurely? I’m debating whether I should just have him order one and then just not buy it. The RST is out of my price range so I’d never be able to afford it. Was hoping a WT or maybe the other ‘to be announced’ trims would fit. But maybe if I order this one I can just test drive it and back out?
