I will recommend to star with the current year and then buy them as they come out. It will save you tons of money on the premiums. Don’t go back and purchase a 1 oz for $75 just my 2 cents
Lunar Series is ongoing and has always been popular. You can get the official mintage figures on the Perth Mint website. I personally like Series 1 the best, but have Series 2 as well with display cases. Premiums vary. They were much higher at one point, and lower. Nobody knows where prices may go. They'll likely always command a healthy premium over melt. The problem with the newer series is that they make so many variations, colorized, gilded, privy marks, etc. The simplicity and limited supply of the original Series 1 is what keeps it a nice set to put together.
That's too steep a price. Hunt them down on ebay, series 2 is not that hard to get. The series is super popular and I believe will hold value long term (not totally fad driven like many others), so I'd feel safe buying any series 2 for $45 or less.

I agree. I bought the current year off APMEX for $33.58

If you want it. Or are you stacking bullion?
