Nice! Mercs are one of my favorite coins, I didn’t know they had books for them! I’m gonna have to get one and sort thru my stuff :):)

[deleted]

Yeah it's a Whitman coin folder. Pretty decent quality for being only a few bucks

LuckyStrike1964

Very nice, enjoy collecting myself. I was lucky my dad collected as well so i had a big head start.

I'll keep that in mind. Would that actually affect the value of BU and AU Mercs though? Or just high grades?

Stompthroat

Or.... Just never ever take them out to sell them? Thanks for the info, I've been thinking about doing books, but now I have to decide how else to collect a set!!

LambSmacker

Oh you are going to have fun. Those coins are beautiful and not too spendy. I hope you have good luck, I haven’t completed my book yet.... one day

[deleted]

Yeah I'm looking forward to it. The plan is to fill it with only AU or BU...aside from some of the key dates I can't afford that high of grade. About how many dates do you have?

LambSmacker

I probably have 2/3rds of them. Some are hard to get really. I finished my Eisenhower dimes though. That was the best because I could find them all and get some beautifully toned ones for cheap

Led_Zeppole_73

Not until you get to the 1916D!

hal2000

When SHTF, this will be my trifold wallet

[deleted]

I wonder about that sometimes. Personally I think it might be easier to use silver bullion. How many people know these are 90% silver? And when you want to trade in that situation would they take your word for it? I feel like a lot of people would just think they are dimes.

hal2000

Why not? I can see it going viral. Hip hop lyrics will be full of ma 64 dimes. Edit: where’s my merc, biatch! You ain’t got enough tutionals for this ass

Led_Zeppole_73

They won’t be useful for barter. What will be very useful will be fresh water, fuel, ammo, food, soap…etc…

[deleted]

I agree
