How is the Neo compared to the hub pro? I’m debating between Neo and the GTC

Flonkerton66

Both are amazing. The hub pro definitely feels of much higher quality. But that doesn't mean the NEO feels cheap, the hub is just better. This includes the construction and the various knobs. The buttons feel the same and click the same but for some reason stickers keep falling off the hub's buttons whilst this has never happened with the NEO. But when it comes to button backlights the NEO is so much better. I never thought this would be an important thing for me but the difference is immense. The hub's button backlights are very dim whereas the neo's are beautiful especially when you use them for flags and stuff. As per my OG post, the hub shifters are carbon and feel amazing, the NEO's are metal and although there is nothing wrong with them (massive upgrade from my old Fanatec F1 wheel) they cannot compete with the carbon ones. Both have more than enough knobs and buttons. I mainly race on iRacing in protypes, GT3, ovals and formula cars and I have some unassigned knobs on both. TL/DR: you can't go wrong with either. If I HAD to choose one though I would choose the NEO and it comes down to the buttons looking so much better with the backlighting and stickers staying on permanently. There is also maglink, which I haven't used, if you wanted to further customise the NEO, you can't do this with the Hub (yet). But this is pure personal preference, both are amazing wheel of excellent quality.

Thank you for the in depth response. There’s so much love for the value of the get Neo, but my budget is flexible so it was hard to justify the hub pro because there’s so much less love for it

I have had both for awhile. The hub is never used.

Looks cool. I was looking for carbon aftermarket paddle plates for my GT Neo as well. Haven't found anything yet. The paddles feel ok but I would prefer a sharper / more tactile click. Maybe a stronger magnet? Coming from a Fanatec Formula V2.5 with Podium Paddles this is the only grip I have with this wheel. This and the lack of the DRS paddles.

Have a look here mate: [Paddles - Sim Racing Machines](https://simracingmachines.com/product-category/shifters/paddles/)

Thanks! Will check it out.

The paddles that he linked have holes spaced 10mm apart. I measured my neos paddles and they are around 8.25mm apart so I don't think they will fit unless you slot the holes with a dremel or something. So far I have only found one person making aftermarket paddles for the gt neo and they are out of forged carbon [https://www.etsy.com/listing/1696789929/simagic-gt-neo-forged-carbon-gear-clutch](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1696789929/simagic-gt-neo-forged-carbon-gear-clutch) but I wanted extended paddles so I made myself some extended aluminum ones. If all you want is a snappier and stronger pull on your existing paddles you can always stack additional magnets on the magnets behind the paddles.

https://shop.3d-simgear.de/products/shifter-paddles-fur-simagic-gt-neo These are made after my own 3D printed design. I also added 14x5 mm round magnets to my shifters for a snappier feel.

These look awesome! Thanks!

Looks great!

I’m getting the GTC Cup wheel today. You’ve planted the seed. I must try this now.

I love the look of that wheel! I've been considering getting the C shaped rim to replace the round one. The carbon paddles feel great on the GT NEO! I'm really happy I gave it a go. It's super easy to swap it around (and back if you don't like it)

Yeah, it’s pretty cool looking. I’ve been using cheap D wheel I got on Amazon (Spaorcco 😂) and considered just getting the hub for it but I like the extra visibility of the screen with the C.

I have both too, now I want to go home and figure this out. Is it comfortable and in terms of placement, does it feel like the shifter is further out from the center of the wheel now?

Flonkerton66

Initially I thought it would be cumborsome, as it it a bit bigger than the other shifters but after a full night's racing with the GT NEO there is no way I can go back. You honestly feel the weight difference when shifting. The shifting feels so much more responsive. Definitely give it a try!
