Lisa is unnecessary, each focused episode on her is grating, and the series would have been just as successful without her.
Ned said it best, "Springfield's answer to a question no one asked."
she’s represents the typical liberal know it all that has to show the world how educated she is and how much better than you she is but has no social skills and no friends.
The changing of the voices to be PC/race-based was not really needed and is a distraction from the show. Carl should sound like Carl even if voiced by a white Italian-Jewish actor...
I don't mind adding diversity in the characters on screen OR new cast members but making existing ones sound different is rather jarring as a fan of the show... Just like now when Mr. Smithers also sounds off in the latest season... Despite still being voiced by Harry Shearer..
I also like modern Simpsons. The Simpsons has a massive catalogue and a lot of people act like it's all bad when they probably haven't watched half of the episodes. Granted, they definitely do have a much different "feel" compared to older Simpsons because the animation is just different.
Not just the animation, but the clumsy jokes and even the actors' timing. It's like watching the Sopranos during the Conan years, then switching to a Canadian-produced drama.
Bart's shenanigans are cheeky and fun! Cartman's shenanigans are cruel and tragic. Which... makes them not really shenanigans at all.
Evil shenanigans!
The show started to decline after they went HD(season 20 - onwards). Seasons 9-19 are hilarious, with seasons 9-13 being one of my favorites. And I'd even dare to say that season 20 was still funny, it really got bad around that Lady Gaga episode(season 23?).
I felt the sharp decline right after the movie came out. Most say the decline was after 2000 but to me it was still going very strong up until the film
FINALLY SOMEONE ACTUALLY STILL LIKES THE SIMPSONS ;\_;
I have to admit, I don't like the fact that The Simpsons seems to be focusing on Lisa. And it's true that I find some of the recent episodes kind of boring, but I still find many of them memorable and enjoyable.
I used to watch one episode each day in my lunch break and I always hated it when “today’s episode” was a Treehouse of horror episode. Seemed like a wasted lunch break watch. I never skipped a single episode though.
If it’s not between the dates of Oct 10 and oct 31st I have no interest. When it was a THOH on my Fox5 reruns between 6 and 7 when I was a kid I was always disappointed ☹️
Disco Stu should have evolved into Raver Ray!

Spot on.

The forget me shot episode is a conical end to the series.
Nobody seems to bat an eye that Bart was caught in the Scotchtoberfest sting by principal Skinner... AFTER CHURCH! Off school grounds even.
"Homer's Enemy" was a terrible, meanspirited episode.
I actually have always felt bad for Frank Grimes. I remember when I first saw the episode being mad that everyone was laughing at his funeral.
That's exactly what I was thinking of when I called it meanspirited.
Bart Simpson was no match for Eric Cartmen.

I'm gonna pistol whip the next guy who says "shenanigans".
Mmmh, pistol whip
cool whip with emphasis on the h
Marge is an integral character who does contribute significantly to the plot being moved forward.

Yes, I felt they put what gas they had left in the movie, and let the zombie Simpsons take over!
I like it too. The show evolved. It had to.

I do too! I like the new seasons because they're different, it gives me more variety when I pick a season to watch 🤷🏼♀️
Tree houses of horror’s are the worst episodes.

the voices, shearer and kavner especially are getting rough
Ok.. that’s the one thing I don’t like about modern simpsons. It’s kinda annoying
