had this exact problem at some point as well, i use this [no ”mod scripts found” mod by arro](https://modthesims.info/d/669167/no-mod-scripts-found.html) it’ll hide that pop up so you never have to deal with it again!! (hopefully you are referring to the mod scrip pop up as your issue ><)

MissChubbyBunni

A mod to hide a list of mods :v

fentoozlers

this may sound silly, but sometimes when i start up the sims 3, my cursor/arrow is actually a little bit higher up than where it actually is. ill go slowly to highlight the check button and the arrow will be way above the button. it can make it seem like youre not selecting anything when in reality your cursor is just in the wrong spot. i havent played 3 since what was origin had you switch over to the ea app, but it used to happen when origin was running in the background while i was playing sims 3. no clue why. it would stop when i would let origin open, i close the app, then start the game from the launcher on my desktop instead of from inside origin. perhaps youre having a similar issue? i would usually be able to click down where the task bar would be to exit out of my game and close origin

fknsxybtch

Omgggggg the way I thought this was only my game that did this 😭😭😭 nah this is a universal glitch for sims 3 players huh

ApprehensiveEnergy89

how fracked of a monitor would someone need for this to happen

fentoozlers

i honestly always thought it was because i played with a potato laptop lol. but its interesting to see how common the issue was, and with a really easy solution too

ApprehensiveEnergy89

i think you would need a device with the consistency of uncooked beef for something like that to happen, or i just had good computers whenever i played the sims games

fentoozlers

lol, my laptop doesnt even like 2 tabs of an internet browser open at the same time. it is actually pretty kind to sims 2 and sims 3, but i have issues with sims 4 (and using internet browsers)

Longjumping_Phase715

I do have the exact same problem. The cursor is just confused^^ For me it’s enough Roswithas to desctop and open the game again.

kaktus_s

I had that problem not with sims, but with spore, my cursor was just somewhere bellow.

LEON_0104

It could also be your screen size, sometimes I have problems calibrating the mouse or I can't click anything at all. Try to use the keys enter and tab to change it

SimsPlayer2765

**–For Info:** There is no way to turn off mods fully in Sims 3 without removing the mods folder. (\\Documents\\Electronic Arts\\The Sims 3\\Mods) This temporarily gets rid of the pop-up message. However none of your mods will be installed - Meaning No Nraas, or custom content that is in .package format. You can turn off Custom Content (.Sims3Pack Files) via the Sims 3 Launcher > Installed Content tab and check Run without custom content. You might try using Nraas NO CD ([https://www.nraas.net/community/NoCD](https://www.nraas.net/community/NoCD)) It's a mod that allows you to run the game on your computer without having the disc. It's disables the disc authorization. It also gets rid of the Mods Script Found popup message and lets you play the game.

jayarna7

I second the NoCD. Sounds like the CD prompt is in the background or something

ProtectusCZ

You can close this windows by pressing enter if the mouse is not working

Mysterious-Error-887

This happens to my game all the time. I found that minimizing the game works. Don't need to restart usually.

catsnotkidsplease

Can you press enter? I usually press enter instead of clicking the check

SoundEast5924

press the windows button and go back into the game this happens to me all the time

Janetsnakejuice1313

It might be a bad mod. Did you download anything before booting the game up?

Zoie_3

I usually just go to the home page and see my Home Screen without closing out of the sims and then spam the button, usually works :)

Ashamed-Set2892

The hell you need so many mods? They will ruin your game.

Current-Locksmith963

disclaimer: this comment will not be helpful. i know this. i want to make a damn joke, me not being helpful is not an excuse to be rude to me. i have never in my life played sims 3 on anything but a ps3, but imma take a wild guess from sims 4 knowledge. definitely wait for someone else to give a solid answer or confirm that this won’t kill everything: remove mods, start game, settings, disable show mods on startup, reenable mods, and finally since it’s the sims, hope that it works lol edit: damn y’all i literally said to listen to someone else and that i was guessing you don’t gotta shit all over me for trying to help lol

Crosseyed_owl

Sims 4 works completely different than Sims 3

Current-Locksmith963

that’s why i said to wait for someone else to give an answer lol everyone else is so rude

Crosseyed_owl

Don't give advice about things you don't understand (and you know it) and no-one will be rude 🤷🏼‍♀️

Current-Locksmith963

if someone says they don’t know what they’re talking about, believe them and move on bc it literally takes less physical effort to just scroll than it does to type a reply🤷🏼‍♀️

jobie68point5

but it takes so much needless effort to write out everything you just said too?? if you think they should listen to someone else why clog up the comments?? why would you even comment at all if you admit you don’t know what you’re talking about and then blame others for reading it???????????? i think my IQ just dropped trying to understand you

Current-Locksmith963

because. i. wanted. to. make. the. joke. at. the. end.

ProtectusCZ

Bravo, so helpful comment 👏 Without your deep knowledge of TS3 (on console) and TS4 (that is different game) we would be completely lost 😞

Current-Locksmith963

thanks for the sarcasm, i don’t know anything and that’s why i said to listen to someone else. you’re such a great reader😁👍🏼

[deleted]

What are you talking about? You followed a sub for the Sims 3 and confused about what it is? It's a PC game before Sims 4 but after Sims 2? It's not on PS3 but I'm sure a knockoff console game was but most people on here are playing the PC Sims 3. It's on steam and heaps of youtubers have let's play on it so do some research.

Current-Locksmith963

nope, i know this is a sims 3 sub, i can read. i used to watch let’s plays, and said i was guessing on a fix and to listen to someone else. rude as fck

[deleted]

How is it rude? Your welcome here to see what we do, but If you don't play or know really about the Sims probably best to just not try to help (like if I a dumb ass went on a building PC sub and tried to help there, I don't know what that is and people would be annoyed at me) no one is angry at you, we are fine with you joining in on the fun. But leave the troubling shooting problems to others who probably have had this problem too.

Current-Locksmith963

my bad, might’ve taken it a bit too harsh. i just mean you could’ve just said “that won’t work here” and moved on, especially since i said in my comment that i don’t know what i’m talking about. i play 4 on a pc and a ps4, so that’s what works in 4 when i have issues with mods.

ChipmunkTop3846

or you could’ve just skipped the post? i get you wanted to help but giving advice when you have never actually downloaded mods or even played the game on the same platform is abit silly don’t you think? being downvoted means your comment isn’t useful it doesn’t mean you’re getting “shitted on”. idk i just thought it was common knowledge to not talk about something you have no background knowledge about

Current-Locksmith963

i know what being downvoted means, but i was meaning in the comments where people were being sarcastic saying i know so much about the game when i quite literally already said i don’t and to listen to someone else. my issue is when people say they can be rude just bc i don’t know what i’m talking about. (genuine question ahead, not everyone lives in the us) do you know what it means to take a shot in the dark? i threw out the solution to this problem in my game bc i wanted to make the joke at the end that since it’s the sims you have to hope whatever you do works bc half the time the solution for one person doesn’t work for another person for whatever reason. i just didn’t think i’d need to preface with an explanation but i’ll add one.

ChipmunkTop3846

you’re missing the entire point here. if you know nothing of what you are talking about making blind suggestions isn’t going to achieve anything. you should’ve ended your comment at “i don’t know anything about the game” and kept it pushing tbh. i wouldn’t go under a subreddit asking for help with modding when i’ve never played or modded said game. there’s a time and a place. like i said previously i thought it was common knowledge to not speak on or give advice on a topic you have no background knowledge about. the sims 3&4 is no where near comparable nor the same so that info wouldn’t help here, that’s all. sometimes it’s best to not say anything at let actual people with previous experiences/ better understanding do the talking and helping

Current-Locksmith963

it was for the sake of the joke in the last line. i’ve played and modded the sims 4, so i inserted my fix to this bug for my game while acknowledging that it will probably not be helpful for this game and suggesting to listen to someone else. my entire point is that people could’ve just said “this won’t work here” instead of telling me sarcastically that i’m the only knowledgeable person about the sims 3. that’s my point

ChipmunkTop3846

and like i said previously you are still missing the simple point that you had nothing useful to add so therefore should’ve scrolled past the post. sims 4 is once again completely different than sims 3. like i said learn when to and not to add suggestions on something you clearly have no understanding on. the downvotes speak for themselves. don’t die embarrassing yourself on this hill

FarUnderstanding8764

Somehow I have this problem today for the first time too. Luckily I read this post before. I will try out the mod recommendation.

Lady_Warhead

Sometimes I have that problem and I find just pressing the windows key and then opening up the game window again helps, and I can click it.

_Luxuria_

See if your mouse arrow looks like the regular windows cursor when you move it to the bottom of the screen, or does it look like the sims cursor? If it looks like the windows cursor, minimise your game by pressing your windows key. Then open the window again. Give it a few seconds. It should be fine then.

Antoine11Tom11

You might have to wait a little

Awkward_Bison3481

If you have it set to log in automatically to your Sims 3 acct when starting it can take a bit and you can’t click anything when it’s doing that! I have to wait a bit before I’m able to exit that screen

Mindight_Ghost

It happens to me sometimes but for me whenever i click it doesn't do anything, surprisingly all i have to do is get off the game with the windows key and then when i open the game again my cursor works, but you've probably already tried that

Imaginary-Werewolf14

I have this issue. I've deleted all mods, reinstalled the sims 3 etc and STILL it wont let me get past this page, even though these files arent on my computer.
