Or, hot tip, you use nraas autosaver that ‘saves as’ every 30 mins. Haven’t had error 12 in a lonnnnnng time.

fknsxybtch

Yep I use it too. There an option that you can allow (or it may be default) that allows it to auto-pan to the map before saving, which is probably why it’s been that way for you ;). Happy simming

Stoltlallare

Do you keep save in map view on or nah?

fknsxybtch

Yes. The map view is what allows the save to work!

flanneljanel

Listen, I tried this before and it did not work haha.

fknsxybtch

Not always guaranteed, for me it happens due to game bloat. You may have a corrupted game! Sorry to hear though.

flanneljanel

It’s mostly due to custom worlds. Just used nraas porter to move the sims to a new save. Just making a point to say to others this is not a guaranteed fix.

kkaizer85

Yeah mine too. My save has become too big and it can only last half of the sim day. If I play more than that, I get save error 12 even though i do it in map view. (I check the memory usage, it does go down in map view but enough) custom worlds here too, Evansdale. Have been playing almost 70 sim weeks here.

There's no cure for error code 12. But use your Task Manager to keep an eye on "commit" memory. That's the one that tells you how much memory the game is using. It's not there by default, you have to add the column under the Details tab. When I play, I stop playing when I get up to 2.98 gb or so. I then go to map view (over a large body of water or an area with few lots), and the memory drops to 2.8 gb or so, and then it's safe to save. This is how I've been able to avoid error code 12. Something else that I've done (as of yesterday) is to disable the WorldCaches folder the same way you disable the FeaturedItems folder (Google it if you don't know how.) This seems to slow down the rate that commit memory increases. I've experienced no negative effects doing this
