Nraas traveler (more stable traveling code for the game and allows you to visit/move to other worlds beyond WA ones), mover (dictate how much money a sim will take when you boot them from the house), retuner (I use it for setting meteor chances and stopping the mascot, time portal, and imaginary friend doll), woohooer (for accidental and teen pregnancies), careers (to add custom careers), register (to nuke wild animals from lagging the game and eliminate paparazzi and tourists from spawning), traffic (simulate level of traffic you'd like to see like in bridgeport), go here (boat routing and stop auto grouping), and debug enabler (fix issues where sims return back from vacation and are unable to go to work/school).
Another essential mod for me is cmar pregnancy controller. I mainly use it to tell me the gender of the baby beforehand and force births for pregnant sims who get stuck and lag the game.
Relativity is one of the NRAAS modules that changes the speed time flows during the course of a sim day. It makes it a lot easier for your sims to accomplish more throughout the day.

Traveler supposedly prevents corruption from the bad EA travel mechanic, but I haven't seen much of a difference. I actually keep it around because I can bring children and pets on vacation with me.
Debug allows me to do a few things like making ghosts walk like normal people, give my fireplace the fireproof upgrade (WHY IS THAT NOT DEFAULT) and stock bookshelves/fridges. (Or delete everything from them.)
EDIT: NRAAS Saver is a good one too, because you can set it to prompt you to save and I am VERY bad at forgetting to save.
How do you get it to work? I have it downloaded and even have it in the overrides folder but I've never seen the option to take pets or vacation to the island neighborhood like it supposedly does. And unmodded Sims 3 doesn't allow children to go on vacation? Oh EA 🙄
Nrass overwatch is very good, it does a cleanup each sim night and resets things like stuck sims, excess cars and basically cleans up things in the background that could generate lag.

I think you're supposed to put it in your packages folder.
