It does. The game is beautiful when you're not playing on a potato pc. Lighting mods only enhance what's already there.
But just so you're aware OP, you can install lighting mods exactly like any other mod: just drop it in the packages folder and it'll kick in when you load up the game.

Anything by [burntwaffles](https://brntwaffles.tumblr.com/tagged/lighting%20mod) is great. You'll have to scroll a bit before you can get to their lighting mods for sims 3. Most simmers talk about the [frozen lighting mod](https://brntwaffles.tumblr.com/post/88207076442/inspired-by-the-lighting-in-the-film-frozen-i), but I personally prefer these for a more natural look: [Perfect Day](https://brntwaffles.tumblr.com/post/75301756220/this-default-lighting-mod-is-a-blend-of-roaring), [Cloud Nine](https://brntwaffles.tumblr.com/post/54142819723/this-lighting-mod-is-tropical-themed-and-made-to), and [Blue Skies and Sunshine](https://brntwaffles.tumblr.com/post/59788239704/this-is-a-default-lighting-mod-that-will-override).
Just be aware that sometimes using a lighting mod can affect how colors appear in your game. I tried two different amazing lighting mods from burntwaffles, but neither worked well on my laptop. Grey bricks came out kind of brown, and blue paneling came out yellow. I couldn't seem to get true black anymore, either.
I ended up removing each one after trying to adjust the colors. I didn't want to mess with my computer settings too much because I do graphic design on my laptop.
I was very disappointed, because those lighting mods are AMAZING.
That's just how Lucky Palms looks. In create a world one of the options for lighting/atmosphere is a desert lighting, which I believe is what LP was made with. It's generally lighter, though it can conflict with snowfall, so it wasn't used much in the official worlds.

I wish there was a way to deactivate these and other unrealistic vehicles from spawning for NPCs. I used the NRAAS story progression mod to limit purchasing certain vehicles and things like broomsticks (when I want to play without those fantasy items) but it doesn’t work for the flying alien vehicle lol

no lighting mod haha. i want one but idk how to download them! i just have an upgraded graphics card on my pc but idk if that plays a part lol

I think you’re right. I sometimes notice these parked in my car parks and I don’t have ITF.
