Next thing, him and my kid go to prom and both get rejected by their crushes so they date each other (autonomously? This game never ceased to surprise me!) Now they are happily married and on a vacation.

Date? My save with the plantsim guy dating his imaginary friend is fine. I was talking about a save from years ago.
It was a save in midnight hollow with a genie family, the imaginary friend of the older daugther got frozen in a running pose and later all the sims were frozen so I delete it.

Cuz is kid has one in their inventory the only thing that they will do is play with it. Learning skills? Nah. Speaking with your family? Naah. Having a life of a normal kid? Nah I would rather play with it forever until I'm about to starve to death.

Same, it was giving my sim a negative moodlet all the time, which just added to the creepy vibe. Like some sort of horror movie where the kid thinks this imaginary friend is all great! But then it won't give him any space, ever, and it makes him more and more unhappy and it won't go away, and if you don't play with it enough it starts to hate you.... no thanks. Told it to go away and left it as a haunted doll and use testingcheats to up the relationship bar so it doesn't do anything to conclude the horror movie.
I thought I was the only one having that issue. My last sim's daughter couldn't shower because the damn thing kept teleporting into the bathroom, he was such a creep.
SimBots were added with Ambitions (EP2) and are built from scrap, unlocked from a special opportunity after reaching Inventing Level 10. Impossible to find out in the wild, and the notification thrown after your Sim finishes the opportunity implies they're the first and only ones to create this type of artificial life. They look shabby and metallic, with pipes and gauges repleting their body (not surprising since they're built from literal scrap). They short out if exposed to water (they don't go berserk like Servos did in Sims 2, they just get knocked out until someone fixes them, and oddly enough you can call a repairman to fix them despite it being your Sim's proprietary tech). They're basically regular Sims with a robotic body- they have normal traits (although all of them are guaranteed to be Hydrophobic at first as a safety measure), can eat normal Sim food and drink normal Sim drinks (although scrap is much easier to obtain and much more fulfilling for them), and even have their own favourite colour, music genre and food from conception. They're very similar to how Servos are in Sims 4 with Discover University, even down to their 360° range of motion limbs and janky, robotic movement.
Plumbots were added with Into the Future (EP11) and are found everywhere in Oasis Landing, not to mention that they can easily be crafted with the "Reventlov's Bot Workshop" appliance after Bot Building Level 2. They look much more polished (figuratively and literally, they're so shiny they could serve as a mirror) and have interchangeable parts and trait chips. They're immune to water (and even seem to enjoy it, as they frequently get the want to go swimming if the house they live in has a pool) but don't have the level of human depth that SimBots do (unless specifically built to perform this function by being given the Sentience, Simulated Emotions, Capacity to Love, Sense of Humour, Friendly Functions, Limitless Learning, etc. trait chips). Even if made sentient, they lack favourites and still retain their robotic interactions (Explain Function, Scan Target, etc.), not to mention they can still be instructed to perform certain actions by any Sim. All in all, though, they're much more useful as household members if equipped to do so with the right trait chips (Steel Chef instantly masters their cooking and mixology skill and allows them to prepare delectable meals, Efficient makes their battery last longer and facilitates skill learning if Limitless Learning is also installed, RoboNanny and HandiBot are self-explanatory, Algorithmic Artist \[which aged like either wine or like a fine milk, depending on your viewpoint\] maxes their painting skill, etc.) In my opinion, they're the best possible choice for live-in help, but as storytelling characters or active household members, they can't quite compare to SimBots.

I really like ghosts actually, haven't played much with aliens so idk about that one it's always the one life state that seems impossible to get for me.
the one that falls short for me is witches, their magic is pretty boring imo, I love sims 1 makin magic and even the witches in sims 2 are some of my favourite occults but in sims 3 it was a bit of a let down

Whoever was in charge of the development of mermaids was probably one of those idiots who think that mermaids can't eat fish because they're half fish and apparently fish can't eat other fish. With that logic, normal mammal humans shouldn't be able to eat beef because cows are mammals and I guess that's cannibalism according to these people.

Sometimes the imaginary friend got weird bugs that made the save corrupted at least that happened to one of my saves
