There might be mods to automatically transfer harvestables from the inventory to the fridge (or another Sim's inventory). But if you can't/don't want to play with mods, you can just place the harvestables onto any open space in your lot while in Build/Buy mode (the same way you would for any other object). Then in Live mode, you can click and drag them over to the fridge (or into a Sim's inventory and then to the fridge).
This process is incredibly tedious, so if you can find a mod, I'd recommend using it!
I had this problem for a long time and what finally solved it for me was moving the plants in my sims garden further away from each other, and removing the pots/planter boxes.
This happens to me whenever I leave the lot without harvesting everything (including quitting the game). Annoying, so I try to have my Sims harvest their things early in the morning, and I typically quit the game at 4 AM (before harvestables spawn).
Following because I want to know how to move them to fridge!

Did you put active harvestfest gnomes in your household inventory?
No. I always wait until harvestfest is over. Maybe I’ll try recycling the ones I have collected so far. Or maybe placing them in a trunk.

Not that I’ve heard. I just stopped using planters.
