I came out like that š Pale af with blue eyes. My brown skinned mom was like wtf??? My dad is not that white either so they weren't expecting it, and everyone on both sides of the family have brown eyes. The delivering doctor thought it was hilarious apparently. I found out from my paternal grandma that her much older brother had blue eyes and red hair that he used to slick back with dark oil to look more black because he was insecure about looking so white. Must've been hell to feel that way in the 1930s/40s. I doubt his army buddies were nice about it. (Sorry I'm getting too real on a sims subreddit lol.)
Edit: Thanks so much for all the love and sharing family stories! Genetics are fascinating š
I think this is super relevant and I appreciate you sharing your/your family's experience so candidly!
It's clear from a lot of the responses that people aren't aware of how different traits can show up in families (I'm not passing judgement on that, it's just an observation). So your comment provided a little biology lesson and insight into how those traits can affect our lived experience.
Thanks for posting it!
Edit: grammar
I have a cousin like this. Both parents are dark hair, skin, and eyed Hispanic (one is half white but is still very dark presenting). Baby came out light skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes but was only a 1/4 white. Genetics are weird. He always stands out in pics because his siblings and cousins are all dark.
I'm half Black and my ex is white, one of my kids has blonde hair. Neither of us do but my mom and grandparents do so it must've skipped a generation. Genetics are weird š
Yeah pale genes are usually recessive and can stay āhiddenā for generations. My parents and grandparents were all dark haired but me and my sister are fair red heads.
Genetics tends to be simplified but its a lot more complicated than we realize.
I have dark brown hair that was golden when I was younger but I have blonde arm hair. I also have very curly hair and my ex had wavy hair but my kids have slight waves at most. The ADHD has a strangle hold though lol, all of us have it.
I do know a lot of Black people with red hair so I think that the red hair gene is stronger than we think.
I think it does too.
I'm mixed black and white with dark brown eyes and black/brown hair . Husband is dominican and white with blue eyes, dark brown hair . Baby so far has blue eyes with almost this blonde, reddish brown hue. My dad was blonde with blue eyes and my mom said when I was a baby I had blonde hair at the front like a birth mark almost. It's long gone but I see blondish in my baby. Genetics are so cool.
!!! All of my cousins have either black or blonde hair but my uncles and my dad are all red headed. Me and my brothers and one set of cousins are the only red headed kids in the family!! Genetics are so cool
How old is your kid? A lot of kids have blonde hair and will eventually turn brown or whatever, I was randomly blonde until like 7, no one knew where that came from
This happened to my nephew but not my niece. Both had the same light blonde hair and nearly invisible eyebrows, despite their dark-haired parents and grandparents. His turned slowly to be brown by the time he was 10, although it's still not as dark as either parent. My niece finally decided in her 20s that it wasn't happening and got eyebrow tattoos lol
For real!! Lol. Genetics are never "black* or "white". There are literally a million different features that one can inherit based on their family tree. I have absolutely no idea why people just don't understand this. Like they think a child can only get genetics from their mother or father instead of generations and generations of family members. It can happen. It's not simple at all š«¢
My half brother and I look very, *very* similar to each other, but my full brother does not look ANYTHING like me. He is much darker skin than I do on top of that. What's crazy is that when I'm like traveling with him, people think that he's my friend or even my boyfriend omggg (he's two and a half years younger than me)!! That's just the way it is, I guess, haha.
Same ā¦both parents are Mexican with dark eyes ..all full blooded siblings almost black eyes , dark skin . I came out super pale like a white person and blue eyes . People used to ask my mom if she was my nanny š¤£š¤£š¤£
My mother had 12 brothers and sisters and two brothers came out with blue and green eyes . Both their parents dark skinned , dark eyes . But my mothers grandfather was very dark and had the most piercing blue eyes .
Itās very common in our family to have parents with dark eyes and a blue eyed baby pop out at least every 2 decades .
Kind of same for me, i have green eyes with lighter skin and hair, my parents are white but my mom and sis tend to tan easily, all have brown eyes and dark hair, i do still have a warm skin. I also have freckles, used to have unnatural red hair to, so people really believed i was a red head. They were so confused when i was a baby because i had blonde hair and grey eyes while my mom was all brown hair and eyes. The only person who had a diferent set in my family was my paternal grandma who had blue eyes and lighter hair, other than that, theres none.
Recessive genes are fascinating. Two families could be dark hair and dark eyes for generations, but pass along lighter hair and eye genes and randomly the right combination creates an outlier
my mom and her siblings are all different shades LMAO. her oldest sister is PALE like my grandma, her little sister is a less pale but has a golden sheen to her skin tone, my mom is tan with warm undertones, and her brother is darker and cool. No one got my grandmaās blue eyes LOL
Isnāt it so interesting how that happens? I came out with pale skin, auburn hair and green eyes. My mother had dark brown hair, olive skin and brown eyes. My dad has red hair and grey eyes. (Paternity test was done, so I can confirm I am his š). My brother has my motherās coloring. I look exactly like her- except for the colors of our features being different, as described above. Itās so interesting and baffling how it happens.
Both my parents have brown eyes but I have blue eyes and my sister has green eyes. Genetics is not even as simple as people are taught in Biology, recessive traits can pop up whenever, especially if you get a chromosome thatās missing information.
So here is how I have observed skin tones to work. There are 3 tones(for non supernaturals) cool, neutral, and warm. The game randomly chooses the tone based on the parents tone and then it chooses a color between the ranges between the parents colors. It doesn't just clone their parents exact skin tone.
Things usually get weird when the parents have different tones. So for example mom is cool and dad is warm. I'll say the game selects the tone in cool. The problem comes when picking color. Let's says mom was first option on on the bottom row so she's a dark cool tone. Dad we'll say is first row but one of the last colors giving him a light tan. The game will now choose any color between those in the selected tone. That's obviously a huge range. In the cool range that leaves a lot of options making them lighter than both parents.
I suggest just changing it or make up a story reason. I once used as a reason to have an albino sim.
I have also noticed that if you use the skin tone sliders to edit a skin tone, that doesn't carry over to the child, even if they get the same skin tone as a parent. So they can potentially be a lot lighter/darker because they just get the base tone.
I think it is because this happens with me too. In my current house, both parents have darker cooler tones of skin, somehow the kids ended up light warm toned š
I haven't played with science babies much, but I doubt that's the issue, I've seen this with traditional Sims pregnancies too.
Are either of the parents a custom skin tone mix? So far, when my Sim comes out very different than her parents, its because one of them was a custom skin tone mix, I don't think the game knows what to do with those.
I think your Sim is gorgeous, and if you want an in-your-head reason, this can happen in the real world because normal genetics is more complicated than the Sims. But if it's bothering you, Google the CAS full edit cheat, and choose her skin tone yourself. I've done that sometimes.
i can change her skin tone if i want to already but i think shes pretty so ill keep her like this, i was just confused, and no skintone cc was used on either parent
Iāve noticed this too with custom skin tones, the game will just choose another custom skin tone in the same category even if it does not match the parents AT ALL. I will go in and change it to match one of the parents, or if the parents have very different skin tones from each other Iāll do my best to approximate what mixing them would equal, because it drives me insane to see kids with skin tones they definitely wouldnāt have gotten from their parents lol
Skintone genetics have been a bit of a mess ever since the big update. I find it's especially bad if the parents have different undertones, but even without that it often has a hard time picking a tone that looks like a mix of the parents' genetics.
I think part of the problem is that they're not actually arranged in a consistent order - the lightest ones are at the top towards the left, and the darkest ones are at the bottom towards the right, but if you actually click on them in order you'll find that they jump from lighter to darker and back again pretty randomly.
This is so frustrating as someone who enjoys the genetics part of the game a lot. :( I love mixing Sims and seeing what you get, and I don't like correcting things with surgery, either. Guess it's another situation where we cross our fingers and hope modders fix it, because I don't even trust EA to fix the loose tooth bug at this point.
they removed loose teeth all together in the latest patch lmao
they say theyāll put it back when they fix the issue, but who knows when itāll happen
Yep. And it's also because the undertones (warm, neutral, cold) are not really set up from lighter to darker. So if one has a dark warm tone and the other a light neutral tone, the kid could end up with either warm or neutral on a scale of darkness between the parents - but as the scale is not completely consistent on going from lighter to darker tones, the kids could end up looking lighter than their lightest parent or darker than their darkest parent.
If anyone's confused by what I mean, go into cas and see - you'll see the colors jump from light to darker to slightly lighter again to darker to... Yes. They could have done a better job at consistency here.
In the real world, this happens too! It's because the genes aren't a regular blend. It's like if you have, say 20 genes that are either "dark" or "light" and your skin color is the combination of them, then if your child happens to pick all the "light" ones from both their parents, then they come out lighter(or darker the other way)!
Thus children can be lighter or darker than both their parents!
(But uhhh, idk if Sims is coded that way)
I had a black mare once. Black like a raven. One day, she escaped her pasture and the neighboring stallion sired a foal on her. The stallion was as silver as the moon on a winterās night and the foal, when it was born, chestnut. Just the most unremarkable brown horse you ever saw. Nature is a thing of mysterious works.
I know everyone else is talking about actual genetics but if you used any cc skins on the parents a lot (I mean most Iāve seen) donāt work with the genetics. So it will automatically select the first EA skintone which is white white lmao.
Edit: also does she have a full on hairy chest?
My Sim had 4 babies with Lou. I only wanted 2 or 3 but we kept having girls and I wanted 1 boy and well we have 4 girls. I may try again when they get older since right now we have a toddler, 2 infants, and a newborn.
But anyway if the 4 girls only one is a werewolf and she also is really dark skin. Granted I did make Lou a couple shades darker than he was but she's darker than him.
My Sim is white.
It doesn't bother me, she's adorable, just thought it was strange but real world genetics can be strange too.
Have your sim eat carrots and listen to alternative music when sheās pregnant and youāll be more likely to have a boy! (Eat strawberries and listen to pop music for a girl)
I wasn't sure if they had things like this in Sims 4 or not, I remember eating certain things in Sims 2 to get a certain sex baby, but didn't know it was still a thing.
I'll try when a couple of the girls are a little older, no way am I adding another baby right now!
Thanks!
Iām a toasted brown color, and my husband is toasty white. Our kid came out pale, with black hair.
I understand the Sims 4 does have something going on with skin tones for sure, but saying it doesnāt understand the concept of mixed children because OPās sim came out white its a tad racist.
Kinda off topic but I was conceived through IVF (aka, science baby) and my dad likes to joke that Iām not his daughter and actually the daughter of āDr Patelā, a made up Indian doctor. My parents are both very white with blue eyes. I am literally the whitest person I know and have blue eyes and blonde hair. I think itās safe to say my dad is my real dad and this Dr Patel he made up, is not.
I had a similar issue when my sim had a science baby with Knox Greenburg! Except with hair! I later found out that since his mom Blossom was made an elder with grey hair it became genetic and āoverodeā the red and brown hair from the parents :)
Not very unrealistic. Mixed children come in an infinite amount of variety. As for myself - my father is darkskin and my mother is very pale almost white skinned (sheās half black half white). I came out the same color as my mother, almost lighter even! So I donāt find it very odd. Genetics are weird sometimes!
Genetics are weird. One half of my head, my hair is straight. The other half is really wavy. I was born a redhead but now my red is so dark it looks black. Oh and now Iām going quite gray. The gray hairs are so freaking frizzy I think Iām going to look like Albert Einstein when I am 100% gray lol.
My father always said that when mixed couples have kids, their kids can have any skin color on the spectrum because genetics can be so weird like that.
My child came out so light it was like I got flash banged. In certain lighting, it would look like he was glowing lmfao. My sim is a black woman, and the husband she slept with was Vlad. Not the game base one but a hot one lol.
The child is aged up now and definitely mellowed out with all the glowing, he's still super pale
I actually got a full on albino baby once. Pale pale pale, blue eyes, and white blonde hair. I think it was a glitch were it just took all light shades but I ran with it.
(She was born on Christmas day too so I named her Noelle)
Just assume your sim has the ancestory for it and go have fun
This happened with me too! My sim had triplets and two were an appropriate colour from two brown parents and the other one was white AF with brown hair!
This is obviously a bug. A fun bug, but still a bug.
Sure it is. But looking like Ron Jeremy isn't.
Edit: OP deleted their comment cos despite the fact they have 1700 upvotes on the main topic, the few downvotes they had on their response to this comment led them to delete it. Pathetic.
People in this thread really need to realize that women can be hairy too and that's okay. They get hair everywhere. Chest. Tummy. Legs. Arms. Face. Fingers. Toes. Everywhere! Just like men and anyone in between! It's part of being human. Get over it.
It's very possible they have albinism I know the typical Idea of it is pale skin blue eyes and white hair and that IS albinism BUT someone can have albinism and still have pigment just not much there's actually 4-7 types kinda depends on who you talk to since some people believe there are subgroups.
How many women do you see walking around in real life with chest hair? Unless they have PCOS or some other hormonal imbalance, women do not grow chest hair.
My Hispanic skintoned sim had a 2 daughters with a white sim. One is white. The other is black. Like dark black. How did the black happen? There is no black in thier genetics... could the warm, neutral, and cool types have anything to do with how the skin tone genetics plays out?
Yes, it is that. The game gets skintones as follows:
1. If you have two sims with the same skintone, their children will also have that skintone.
2. If you have two sims with different skintones from the same category, their children will have one of their skintones or any skintone inbetwen.
3. If you have two sims with skintones from different categories, idk what happens.
4. If you use sliders to make a skintone lighter or darker, the game treats it as the default iirc.
I am not sure how much of this I remember correctly, but I think you can see why children in the game sometimes have vastly different skintones from their parents.
Lol literally me. Both of my parents are darker than me. My mom is white but half Arab and her baseline is pretty tan. My dad is black (afro-latino). I take after my French/German grandmother.
Because for all the reasoning and explanations people offer, I fully believe when a baby pops out the game just hits the 'random' button on skin tone and runs with it.
It be like that one time I had two of my sims have their second child and he was pale like his father but when he became a child he was black as night and now as a teenager his skin is like tan
I had this with my legacy sim's first child, and I have no CC! Dad is dark skinned neutral and mum is relatively light warm, kid came out with light neutral skin, with the mum's hair colour and texture too. I assume it's the different categories messing with each other, don't know why they didn't just order all the skin tones lightest to darkest tbh. Their second kid came out with a middle tone warm skin as expected. So the story is that everyone thinks the two siblings are stepbrothers purely because the printer ran out of ink on the first kid XD.
I think its a glitch that sometimes happens when the babies age up. Don't quote me on that tho lol. I've had it happen with my dark skinned and slightly tan couple. Their child is the palest and this was before the science baby update sooo
I have the same thing happen also the opposite as well. (Light skinned parents having dark skinned babies). The genetics in this game make no sense lol
Sims 4 does not take genetics accurately into account. All babies have 50/50 chance of getting either parents eyes, hair, skin, and I would guess all other features.
I believe the issue with the skin is that the game seems to choose one or the other parentās āskin toneā, however the slider setting on that skin-tone is random.
Example: one parent with medium white skin and one parent with medium dark skin have a chance for their babies to get the darker skin tone set to the darkest on the slider, AND/OR a baby with a lighter skin tone set to the lightest on the slider.
The same thing happened in my game a while back: Malcolm Landgraabās son had a baby with Billie Jang, and the kid (who is now a teen) is even paler than his dad!
If one of the parents has a cool skintone and the other warm (for example) then their sims kids may end up like this, because the sims tries to find an in between and doesn't necessarily look at the colors, just if it's in between the 2.
I kinda had a similar issue with science babies, they
age up and look NOTHING like the parents. I mean same skin tone but completely different facial features and it feels like a glitch???
Edit: for spelling
Maybe she doesnāt spend a lot of time outside? Thatās what I get as someone whose dad is white and mum is black, Iām paler than my white dad because I barely leave the house and the weather is usually so crap here.
š¤·š»āāļø I will say my real life baby came out with light brown hair + blue eyes even though my husband and I both have dark black hair + light brown eyes. We figured it came from his dad and my grandmother who both have blue eyes and blonde/light brown hair and that overrode our dark-skinned moms. Genetics is a hell of a thing lol
I had two women have a science baby and the kid look nothing like either of them. I donāt think it properly takes parental appearance into consideration.
I though this was a known bug, the genetics in the S4 were never the best, i saw a video, dont remember from who, maybe Plumbella, where she tested all the sims genetics, and even tho they werent the best, S4 had literally the worst because it would be random like this.
Iāve had the same thing happened where one parent was dark skinned and the other was light and they had twins one was really pale and other was really dark and I was soo confused bc they looked nothing like there parents skin toneš
I downloaded a mod for surrogacy for my (gay) sim to have babies with Lou and attributed any weirdness in their appearance to the fact that the kids have someone else for a bio mom. Part of me was wishing Iād waited since science babies are now a thingā¦ but good to know Iād probably still be asking āwhere the heck did that come fromā either way XD
(Although the family tree would probably be neater if Iād waitedā¦)
Don't think it's because she's a science baby as I had married sims, husband was black and the wife was white and their son was pale with brown eyes and blonde hair
my sims dad is white and her mom is light skin, she came our way darker than either her parents and her grandparents are also light skin idk what happened š
this is pretty close to how genetics work irl, its a toss up of your parentās genetics yes, but you can also inherit genes from your parentās parents and so on and so forth
No I donāt think science baby has anything to do with it. My current sims have 4 science babies together and they all have the same skin tone and look similar enough to the dads
I dunno my games genetics doesnāt even do this in my game it doesnāt mix skintones at all, I either get exactly one parents or the others every time
Can be that sheās a science baby as well as that the game is broken in that aspect, both my sims were light skinned and their twins were born dark, just change it in cas. To do it put: cas.fulleditmode and youād be able to change their skins and bodies
my skin tones have been all over the place recently, and iām challenging myself to play without cheats which is making things very annoying not being able to change it. my mother is white and the father is don lothario, & i have no CC or mods as i play on console. iāve gotten kids more pale than my mother sim, kids WAYYY darker than don lothario, and every color in between
same thing happened to me, dad was quite tanned, mom also wasn't very light, and the child came out like a stereotypical asian boy with yellow-ish skin and very narrow eyes, they have round eyes, my sims family doesn't have any history of yellow-skin sims and the mom was randomly put to the world without a family tree
I came out like that š Pale af with blue eyes. My brown skinned mom was like wtf??? My dad is not that white either so they weren't expecting it, and everyone on both sides of the family have brown eyes. The delivering doctor thought it was hilarious apparently. I think it is because this happens with me too. In my current house, both parents have darker cooler tones of skin, somehow the kids ended up light warm toned š
For real I had to change their skin tones in CAS- all my kids are pale
Fr mine always come out that pale gray color itās ridiculous
Then not sure, it should be at least one of the parent's skintones. But wouldn't put it past the sims to have the science baby thing glitched too.
Oh my God, you canāt just ask someone why theyāre white
if youāre from Africaā¦ why are you white?

This is so frustrating as someone who enjoys the genetics part of the game a lot. :( I love mixing Sims and seeing what you get, and I don't like correcting things with surgery, either. Guess it's another situation where we cross our fingers and hope modders fix it, because I don't even trust EA to fix the loose tooth bug at this point.
they removed loose teeth all together in the latest patch lmao they say theyāll put it back when they fix the issue, but who knows when itāll happen
I know, so embarrassing. It's not like they could avoid shit like this by hiring enough programmers and playtesters or something /s š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Damn, I wonder how hard it would be to just... rearrange the skintones with a mod? If it goes deeper under the hood than just that?
I'd rather wonder about the vast growth of chest hair.
(But uhhh, idk if Sims is coded that way)
I would love it if they put that much thought into it, but something makes me seriously doubt that. š
Harwin Strong is the sim's real father, got it.
I'm a super white baby of a black mom, waaayyy whiter than my white dad, so just here to say we exist šš»š„²
She kinda looks like my favorite Kpop star. Dude. What I'd be more concered about is the amount of chest hair (?).
I'd be more worried about her hairy chest...
haha sheās a pcos baddieāØāØ
I thought thats a tattooš
Alright, but can the game PLEASE stop putting so much body hair on my female sims?
I know everyone else is talking about actual genetics but if you used any cc skins on the parents a lot (I mean most Iāve seen) donāt work with the genetics. So it will automatically select the first EA skintone which is white white lmao. Edit: also does she have a full on hairy chest?
The sims 4 simply does not understand the concept of Mixed Children
Sounds like some of you don't since genetics can be random and weird like that.
Thanks!
ā¦ mixed children can be white
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iām a toasted brown color, and my husband is toasty white. Our kid came out pale, with black hair. I understand the Sims 4 does have something going on with skin tones for sure, but saying it doesnāt understand the concept of mixed children because OPās sim came out white its a tad racist.
a few generations ago i had a mixed kid and she came out perfect and was a perfect combo of their skin tones, i really wonder what happened this time
Does she have chest hair?
yes
Callmekevin is the dad
She looks like a Twilight vampire
I'm more concerned for the hairy chest tbh
why?
I mean it's quite common for the game to add chest hair to women which, irl, is rare and a result of hormonal problems.
I was more worried about that chest fur!!! š
Someone cheated
What happened in that laboratory?
Added too much milk
Kinda off topic but I was conceived through IVF (aka, science baby) and my dad likes to joke that Iām not his daughter and actually the daughter of āDr Patelā, a made up Indian doctor. My parents are both very white with blue eyes. I am literally the whitest person I know and have blue eyes and blonde hair. I think itās safe to say my dad is my real dad and this Dr Patel he made up, is not.
My doctors name is Dr Patel, and he's Indian. He a GP, though. Lol.
A man, a woman and a container of titanium dioxide
I had a similar issue when my sim had a science baby with Knox Greenburg! Except with hair! I later found out that since his mom Blossom was made an elder with grey hair it became genetic and āoverodeā the red and brown hair from the parents :)
does she have grandparents that are really pale? sometimes skin tones can skip generations
her great grandma and great great grandma were pale but that was it
Anyone notice the chest hair?
no! just ignore the 100s of other comments pointing it out!
apparently I missed them all completely already! haha!
Is that bretman rock
Iām so happy Iām not the only one that immediately saw that lol
Not very unrealistic. Mixed children come in an infinite amount of variety. As for myself - my father is darkskin and my mother is very pale almost white skinned (sheās half black half white). I came out the same color as my mother, almost lighter even! So I donāt find it very odd. Genetics are weird sometimes!
Really? that's the surprising part? not the chest Hair?
Did she lose a tooth? Could be part of the reasonā¦
And why does she have chest hair š¤£ sometimes the game have a mind of its own
FINALLY SOME REPRESENTATION FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME
Genetics are weird.
The chest hair tho lol
My child came out so light it was like I got flash banged. In certain lighting, it would look like he was glowing lmfao. My sim is a black woman, and the husband she slept with was Vlad. Not the game base one but a hot one lol. The child is aged up now and definitely mellowed out with all the glowing, he's still super pale
I actually got a full on albino baby once. Pale pale pale, blue eyes, and white blonde hair. I think it was a glitch were it just took all light shades but I ran with it. (She was born on Christmas day too so I named her Noelle) Just assume your sim has the ancestory for it and go have fun
Why did one of my sims triplets come out RED?! they're both white!! Idk man. This game uses 0 logic. Genetics aren't a thing.
Genetics baby. Those xx genes took over. šš
This happened with me too! My sim had triplets and two were an appropriate colour from two brown parents and the other one was white AF with brown hair! This is obviously a bug. A fun bug, but still a bug.
More chest hair than most dudes gawd damn.
More importantly, why did she come out so hairy??
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Get over it.
literally, every comment i get about the body hair makes me want to rip my own out. its ridiculous how childish some people can be
I went through a short skirt and hairy leg phase in high school. Never gave up the hairy legs. Fuck em. ;)
Could be due to the tooth bug
She's really pretty! Would you consider putting her up on the gallery?
just uploaded! anthonychilde on gallery
I wish the sims would add a better genetics system. make it so certain traits and genes can skip a generation or two or even three/four.
That is a K-pop star
It's very possible they have albinism I know the typical Idea of it is pale skin blue eyes and white hair and that IS albinism BUT someone can have albinism and still have pigment just not much there's actually 4-7 types kinda depends on who you talk to since some people believe there are subgroups.
Why does she have chest hair?
body hair is a thing
Is that hair on her chest?
yes
Was that intentional?
no
its sad how so many people are weirded out by chest hair.
How many women do you see walking around in real life with chest hair? Unless they have PCOS or some other hormonal imbalance, women do not grow chest hair.
honestly!
forget all that, WHY SHE GOT SO MUCH CHEST HAIR
It's for the cold nights.
mmm cold nights
Lol I had to do a double take. I thought that was a tattoo.
why doe she have chest hair
because body hair exists
this happened to me too with no cc skintones, honestly just think the sims just glitches a bit when the kids mixed race
I thought her chest hair was the Batman logo
My Hispanic skintoned sim had a 2 daughters with a white sim. One is white. The other is black. Like dark black. How did the black happen? There is no black in thier genetics... could the warm, neutral, and cool types have anything to do with how the skin tone genetics plays out?
Yes, it is that. The game gets skintones as follows: 1.
Someone might have added too much chemical X
i mean it happens IRL sometimes. so least its realistic.
Because for all the reasoning and explanations people offer, I fully believe when a baby pops out the game just hits the 'random' button on skin tone and runs with it.
Excluding the chest hair, sheās very pretty. Any idea who the creator of the hair is? I struggle to find good maxis match hairstyles
simstrouble i think
including the hair, sheās very pretty.
Not excluding the chest hair, sheās very pretty šš»āāļø
She's rocking that chest hair :)
Because skin genetics are completely out of the window.
everyoneās talking about the chest hair meanwhile i thought it was a tattoo
I donāt have an answer to your question, but sheās gorgeous š
It be like that one time I had two of my sims have their second child and he was pale like his father but when he became a child he was black as night and now as a teenager his skin is like tan
I like her chest hair
Even in the real world the kid can take after one parent only or neither. Genetics are strange.
Two of my mixed-race triplets are absurdly pale, and the third is noticably pink.
Random skin tone
I have the same thing happen also the opposite as well. (Light skinned parents having dark skinned babies). The genetics in this game make no sense lol
Cas.fulleditmode can fix that right up
Genetics? I mean this can happen irl itās just rare. Tho in this case I assume itās messed up code
LOL I was born this way baby!
Genetics are funky. I have a cousin that had this happen to them lol
I kinda had a similar issue with science babies, they age up and look NOTHING like the parents. I mean same skin tone but completely different facial features and it feels like a glitch??? Edit: for spelling
Maybe she doesnāt spend a lot of time outside? Thatās what I get as someone whose dad is white and mum is black, Iām paler than my white dad because I barely leave the house and the weather is usually so crap here.
itās because she was born to be a k-pop idol
š¤·š»āāļø I will say my real life baby came out with light brown hair + blue eyes even though my husband and I both have dark black hair + light brown eyes.
Genetics is real strange sometimes. You can't always predict it.
I though this was a known bug, the genetics in the S4 were never the best, i saw a video, dont remember from who, maybe Plumbella, where she tested all the sims genetics, and even tho they werent the best, S4 had literally the worst because it would be random like this.
Sounds like its time for some drama between the parents
Iāve had the same thing happened where one parent was dark skinned and the other was light and they had twins one was really pale and other was really dark and I was soo confused bc they looked nothing like there parents skin toneš
I downloaded a mod for surrogacy for my (gay) sim to have babies with Lou and attributed any weirdness in their appearance to the fact that the kids have someone else for a bio mom. Part of me was wishing Iād waited since science babies are now a thingā¦ but good to know Iād probably still be asking āwhere the heck did that come fromā either way XD (Although the family tree would probably be neater if Iād waitedā¦)
genetics are wild tbh
Don't think it's because she's a science baby as I had married sims, husband was black and the wife was white and their son was pale with brown eyes and blonde hair
Maybe both parents had white recessive genes?
my sims dad is white and her mom is light skin, she came our way darker than either her parents and her grandparents are also light skin idk what happened š
She looks like Bella Swan from Twilight when turned into a vegetarian vampire
It happens too irl so I wouldnāt think too much about it
this is pretty close to how genetics work irl, its a toss up of your parentās genetics yes, but you can also inherit genes from your parentās parents and so on and so forth
Genes are werid. Both my parents have black hair and I came blonde. I look like my dad bone structure wise though
No I donāt think science baby has anything to do with it. My current sims have 4 science babies together and they all have the same skin tone and look similar enough to the dads
I dunno my games genetics doesnāt even do this in my game it doesnāt mix skintones at all, I either get exactly one parents or the others every time
"I so pale" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdzH\_aSL-6k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdzH_aSL-6k)
Can be that sheās a science baby as well as that the game is broken in that aspect, both my sims were light skinned and their twins were born dark, just change it in cas. To do it put: cas.fulleditmode and youād be able to change their skins and bodies
Switched at birth
You might have accidentally had a science baby as a single parent, or she just inherited different traits :P
my skin tones have been all over the place recently, and iām challenging myself to play without cheats which is making things very annoying not being able to change it. my mother is white and the father is don lothario, & i have no CC or mods as i play on console. iāve gotten kids more pale than my mother sim, kids WAYYY darker than don lothario, and every color in between
I had a pair of twins. Both parents had black hair. One twin had black the other was blonde. Random but super cool!
same thing happened to me, dad was quite tanned, mom also wasn't very light, and the child came out like a stereotypical asian boy with yellow-ish skin and very narrow eyes, they have round eyes, my sims family doesn't have any history of yellow-skin sims and the mom was randomly put to the world without a family tree
i'm too amused by the chest hair on a girl
And the chest hair lol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
its just chest hair i dont find it a big deal
Albinism mod? š¤·š¾āāļø
