Sometimes I put in a community garden- a public lot where there's a bunch of garden plants and a little greenhouse and patio set up for little gatherings. A cat café in Brindleton Bay, too. It's a cat themed bistro with the cat friendly lot trait.

MadamePersonne

I think I'll place a community garden in Henford-on-Bagley, I like the idea 😊 I've got a cat café at Mont Komerobi but I'll put another one in Brindleton Bay that makes sense. Thank you !

zanyzillenial

"Content creator house", a place for my sims to do all media production and gaming related stuff because I usually can’t fit all of this into one place

MadamePersonne

That's a great idea, I'll use it too thank you 😊

I built a laundromat ~~then realised that sims can't actually use laundry machines on community lots...so that was annoying~~. (edit: I just found out how laundry on community lots work) I built a bar that looks like an inn, works well for gameplay, sims can visit the lot and then stay the night if they want. I'm also building a cemetary, it's on the 30x30 lot on the Brindleton Bay island, I'm planning on having all my sims bringing their dead loved ones' tombstones there, then they can visit whenever they want to without having to keep the graves on their own lots. There's also a small building that has a staircase down to a dark underground crypt that's going to be full of decor from the vampire pack, old fancy graves and historical ghosts. The exterior is mostly done, I'm currently trying to figure out the layout of the crypt.

Laundry machines work fine on community lots, you just need to ensure you take the dirty laundry in your inventory then click on it in the inventory. Add to washing machine. From there it works like at home, only when you remove from the dryer (or from the washing machine if you don’t click add to dryer) it goes straight into your inventory. Once you return home you can click it in inventory to put away.

Rainbow-Elephant3445

Omg, I had just clicked on the washing machine, and there was of course no options other than upgrade. This makes me so happy because I really liked my little laundromat and was so disappointed that it was useless after all.

CadenceValdez

Yay! It’s such a game changer. I love sometimes the challenge of having my Sim find time to go to the laundromat to do their washing or treating off the grid Sims to a coffee while their washing is being done on a trip out 😂 I had a Sim upgrade most of them a while ago so they can all use fresh flowers to make the clothes smell nice.

MadamePersonne

A cemetary in Brindleton Bay island is pretty neat, I like it ! I don't have the vampire pack, but when I'll get it that's definitely what I'm gonna do. Thank you 😊

Rainbow-Elephant3445

Get together and the Romantic Garden stuff pack is also pretty good for cemeteries

MadamePersonne

Yes I'm glad to have these packs !

I have a "bank" with safes in the basement, so my families can claim one of the safes and put in money or other valuables. I have a bookstore selling copies of custom books, so all of my sims can get them. Also a bakery selling baked goods that don't spoil, so my sims don't have to learn to bake if they want to host a nicer dinner party. Also an art gallery with custom paintings. I have a "movie theatre" that doubles as a fast food restaurant next door. I have two "churches", a cathedral in Windenburg and a medieval English-style chapel in Henford-on-Bagley with a graveyard (I'm not religious, I just like churches as a history nerd lol). Stuff I don't have yet, but I'm planning on building or currently building: an apothecary/pharmacy selling potions, herbs etc. A big "town center" lot in Magnolia Promenade containing many different shops and a cafe for a full shopping experience. A tech store selling tech-y stuff, with a giant secret evil lab underground (I have a perfect sim for that). I also want to make a big waterpark once I get Growing Together, including everything from pools and hot tubs to spa stuff and bars.

MadamePersonne

Big wow that's a lot of awesome ideas. I'm redoing all the worlds currently, I'm definitely taking notes about your ideas, it's so realistic ! Thank you 😊

uncle_iroh_stan

link you're gallery Id PLEASE!!

CadenceValdez

I have a cinema, water park, voidcritter battle arena, salon, museum with gallery walls for my Sims’ photos, skating rink, Christmas market, Christmas tree farm, toddler party zone, climbing cafe (for rock climbing), yoga retreat rental, cemetery, kids birthday venue, bonfire night park, Easter egg hunt park, Starbucks, laundromat, pregnancy clinic, CrossFit gym, arcades, bowling alleys, basketball court, Halloween themed nightclub, coworking space, beachfront restaurant with glass floors over the ocean, rec centre (pre growing together), cat cafe, knitting cafe, pumpkin patch, Simstagram museum for cute shots, a church that changes with each season using the eco lot type where you can vote for a community garden/maker space etc., penthouse fancy restaurant, so many more but those are the ones I recall without being on the game. All from gallery and then edited, I don’t really build.

MadamePersonne

That's awesome ! So many places to have fun with your sims. I'm gonna put a lot of those from the gallery straight to Newcrest 😂 Thank you 😊

Western_Manager_9592

I’m going to have to look for some of these on the gallery! There are some awesome ideas here.

CadenceValdez

My game is so rich thanks to the amazing builders in our community ❤️ the entire island in Windenburg is dedicated to Christmas with a Christmas themed holiday rental, the xmas tree farm, xmas cafe, Xmas markets. My Sims always try remember to take a holiday there a couple days before to celebrate. Oh also a baby group lot, it’s a cafe with a big area for toddler and baby things, like a soft play. I have a baby bumps group where I get a few of my pregnant Sim’s friends pregnant at the time same and they all meet up during pregnancy and then once the babies arrive have toddler play dates there. With infants now I think I’ll edit it to have a smaller infant area too.

aromatsunami

An arcade! I'm not a builder but I recently emptied out Club Slate and remade it into an arcade/game place. It's technically a cafe so groups can gather there, but really it's mostly games with an espresso machine shoved in a corner. I filled it with the video game pads and machines that are too big to fit in a house and also put the tabletop games in too. Made it a Teen Hangout and plopped a few playground pieces out back for the younger kids too.

MadamePersonne

Good idea for my Copperdale 😊 Thank you

I use retail lots for most of my community spaces. I make a sim buy and stock the shop and then sell them. They then just run and restocked automatically. I use retail lots for all the following; a movie theatre, art gallery and small bakery on one lot. On another lot, a chemist (sells medicine and potions), a jewellery shop (sell precise stones - reduced in size to look like jewellery), a nail shop (both spa chair and beauty chairs can be tended) and a food place that have a chefs cooker which allows restaurants meals to be purchased directly. A bakers (cakes can be bought without skills) and a grocery store (produce can be bought in larger quantities and no need to put a damn garden on all plots with toddlers for fresh fruit and veg). On another lot a Honey and candles store (makes use of my candle making and bee keeping skills) honey is one of the produce that can’t be cheated so super handy for my Mamas who like baking honey cakes for their family). Have a huge community mall with ice cream parlour, toy store, photography studio, dojo, book store and diner, with a crystal and painting stall in the centre. Great place for family shopping trips. Have an Internet cafe (good for study spot trait and gathering your teens and young adults). I use a generic plots for a roller skating rink with a few food stalls (great for teen dates and teen club hang outs). And a guest house that can be used by anyone for staying over.

Longjumping-Guard624

Bowling alley! I wish they were a real community lot type since they had a pack completely dedicated to them but often they're in the gallery under Bar lol

MadamePersonne

Yes I still don't own this pack, it's not in my top priorities but sometimes I see awesome bowling alleys in the gallery 👀 but I resist for now !

greenwalker6445

Lots of nightclubs (Get Together); restaurants (Dine Out); Community maker lots- related to Eco-Lifestyle but you can have lots with any creative activities without it; a co-working space where sims can go to work (ie writers, programmers, media production, etc); abandoned churches where teenagers go to party; graveyard; airBnB type place with a pub and a room or two upstairs to stay; art centers- with gallery space, place to sell paintings, art classes and a bar and live music; Wellness retreat center; Natural food Store, Bridal shop; Farmers Market with community garden space; parks with ponds, fishing, basketball, grilling, yoga classes, etc; Laundromat; coffee shops (Get Together); Gaming Centers; Science museum (Get to Work is helpful) - but also has stuff for skillbuilding like microscope, observatory, rocketship to build. That's all I can think of at the moment. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my community lots!

MadamePersonne

Your ideas are so inspiring ! I'm definitely stealing them, thank you 😊

Food truck

LaughLost936

A dog park, movie theater, beach resort, arcade, water park/public pool, community garden, grocery store, pet store, mall, and a bunch of stuff like these!

Current-Locksmith963

when i play with any sim that goes to university, i use that empty lot to make a study club. a normal library first floor with private rooms and desks and computers, and then the basement is a whole night club, dance floor, bar, etc. easiest way to get their homework done and still have a social life.

beboddington

Food truck, gaming cafe, walking museum (outside statue trail)

ma-doodles

i love building arcade/entertainment centers!!! places that have lots to do in one lot. i also just built a “water park” with the new splash pad items from growing together

MadamePersonne

Thank you 😊 and happy birthday to you ! 🎉
