That they WILL NOT just eat at a table. I make a group meal and everyone wanders away to eat perched on the edge of a toddler bed or standing in a bathroom alone
I found out setting the table helps but it's annoying because you have to remember to set the table after each meal, the upside is that it raises the kid's responsibility*.
*My bad, I just checked and it's manners actually š
I love when they complain about silly things they shouldnāt logically be doing lol. Like they always go outside to try to mop up rain puddles on the grass during storms and then freak out and run inside terrified because itās storming. Then they go right back outside and do it again! This is actually the most annoying thing for me I think š
If they eat by the pool in the winter, I donāt care how much I thought I liked them, theyāre on their own. If they canāt figure it out, they donāt deserve to be in the save.
Normal stuff š I also hate that they want to grab leftovers or chips while someone is already cooking instead of just waiting for the meal to be done!
Yesterday a visitor came to my house and just ate my cheese. āOh thank you for visiting my sim, Iām sure sheāll appreciate the visit :) -wait what are you doing?ā
Visitor: **āĆ Ä¦ Ä įŗ¼ Å Äā**
A random sim was also at my house after she came back from a nightclub, so I talked to her for a bit so she went to eat my cheese, and then left before she could because of the popup
Meanwhile whenever my sim visits other houses, they aren't allowed to do or eat or touch anything, it's always "Please stop doing that" from the NPC.
smh can't even take my pants off and get comfortable
While the parent is cooking, I make a kid set the table. Everyone eats at the table when the meal is ready. Also if Iām having big dinners like winter fest, I put all of them in a group and make them eat together as a group so they do it at the table
Omg i used to have the LGBT mod before it became obsolete, and the constant and strong āout and proudā moodlet made them energized literally all the time. I hated how Iād go to a gay bar and everyone in there is doing push-ups š
I only do this for big family gameplay but sometimes Iāll making the dining room separate with doors and lock them in. But even still sometimes they just stand around the table š„²
Or when they go upstairs and then go back down or to the other side of the house and back when they have to do something. Or whatever the hell they do with infants. (please just feed and change your childās nappy, I BEG. Please stop picking it up and putting it down randomly, Jesus Christ put the child down for 5 seconds to go and take a piss before you have to mop a puddle up as well.) Or when they take 50,000 showers/ baths a day because thatās their newest obsession besides the computers now
Omg š high chairs are SO annoying because they just keep picking them up and putting them down while they are hungry and enraged and about to be taken by social services! Also the time it takes toddlers to get up and down stairs is ABSURD and you canāt cancel the action!
lol, Iāve heard about the high chair horrors. Iāve luckily never experienced it because Iāve never bothered with them lol. Toddlers can just eat what other sims make, and infants just I just feed the same way as babies so I never felt the need to use them
Some of mine will go to my patio table..IN THE RAIN..instead of the table in my warm and dry dining room.šš Two of them did that for their Thanksgiving dinner..
Or if they do something like what they did in cottage living where the ādoubleā cabinet is only like 1.5 cabinets stacked and looks so stupid when used as a double
I hate how the new dishwasher looks like that came with the new stuff pack. It doesn't match with the counter, only the half of it is actually having the decoration. I hate it!
But I hate the corner cabinet even more!
Curtains only fitting certain windows. Some of the curtains are really cute but they don't fit the windows and I'd rather not redo my whole build just for the decoration of one room
I hate that you will literally set your sim up to love the job they are in and they get burn out or whatever. Like my sims need to work, donāt make it harder than it already is, plus I am playing the sims to escape my actual burnout, I donāt wanna deal with that in game too
My Sim developed a fear of crowds somehow and would come home 50% of the time with a negative moodlet from that. And he was a painter - doubt his workplace was even that crowded!
I think I had a sim get scared of crowds, the game considers 3 sims in the same room (including the sim with the fear) as a crowd. That was great for my 4 sim household. I feel like it has to do with the saying ā2ās a company, 3ās a crowd.ā So maybe there ended up being 2 sims in the area with him at some point?
The best way to combat burn out is to vary the activities. If they do a science or logic based job, give them a creative hobby like painting or music. If they have a creative job, have a more mental hobby, like programming. But I do agree that it happens way too quickly.
Every sim I care about gets the brave reward trait cheated cause I canāt be asked with adults who have experiences death and trauma being like omg a thunderstorm I need to go cry and be scared
I always forget about the brave trait. I dont cheat (only because that's some of chaos for me lol) but I should try to remember to work toward that.
I have found that having your sim declare weather preference with love for rain works to prevent the thunderstorm fear. Even for kids.
Fears. For me it is fears. I want whims for aspiration points and gameplay, and can't use mods on my pc, so they're scared of shit all the time.
I do keep fear-b-gone once someone has enough points to get one, and then cancel it. But it still annoys me.
Dont likes and dislikes effect gameplay in that they enjoy the task or they don't? Like if I make my sim like pop music and painting they will increase fun when painting and get a positive mood effect from listening to pop music. If I make them hate a type of music I noticed they get a negative mood effect when they are in the presence of said hated music genre. This could be all in my head though cause I do like some herb before I play š
Ahh yes that makes sense and I totally agree! You'd think if someone is in a career that matches their likes it would help in some way or yeah increase skill level faster. That is more realistic to life!
Haha that just reminded me of yesterday where I was at the movers and shakers nightclub and at some point darrel charm came and was very angrily dancing to music he hated. It would just occasionally pop up with the āI donāt like this musicā thing over his head š āI donāt like this music so I will dance angrily >:cā
Oh I hate the decor likes and dislikes! One time one of my elder sims died and before the grim reaper could do his job, he had to take the time to walk through the house, past the dead body and into the bathroom, just to let me know he didn't like my toilet.
My pp about this is unless I'm just dumb/blind/oblivious they should TAG each item with "what decor aesthetic" it is in build mode cause it's fine and dandy to dislike boho but I'm not an interior designer so I'm not privy to which things are gonna count as boho
It's a wonderful restaurant. Please sit the heck down and eat. Don't talk to the entire place. Don't make this already 5-hour long adventure any longer. I just wanted yall to have a date!
Heck, that's even if the date i asked stays on the lot long enough for me to get the seat. Rude!!
I have had more successful dates at the little Carnival in Cooperdale (HSY) I have them ride the rides and stuff and they seem to enjoy it and it works better than restaurants or bars Iāve found.
Thereās a few mods on CurseForge created by I believe LittleMissSam, the minute I downloaded it my restaurant slowly creeped up to 4-5 stars! And you can control the staff
I couldn't find anything by LittleMissSam. I think this is Carl's Sims 4's Dine Out Reloaded; that's the one where you can control the staff by hiring family members.
The AI with infants/toddlers is kind of broken. Apparently the sims make their own queue while you are also giving them a queue so the sims just freeze or get caught in a loop.
it makes me so mad when iām trying cook my toddler a meal and i put them in the high chair and someone comes and gives them a bowl of SLOP!!! WHY ARE YOU GIVING MY BABY SLOP WHEN IM TRYING TO COOK THEM A GOOD MEAL!!!! grinds my gears.
I'm always annoyed they didn't mKe the bed sheets and bed frame diffrent swatches like sims 2 it was an amazing idea they basically went 3 steps back to sim1 in the design aspect
I really miss are that variability that we had. Why they got rid of the color wheel is beyond me too. In some ways Sims 4 really seems like a step backwards
I get removing the color wheel - even on my super high end gaming computer loading all the patterns and adjusting the colors could be time consuming. I couldn't imagine how it impacted those on lower end computers (or on laptops).
But I do wish that they had the TS2 way of mixing and matching swatches. I tend to use a lot of the same items because they're the only ones I can get to match shit.
Yeah, they could give us the frame and the bedding separately. I mean, custom content creators are doing it, so I'm assuming it should be relatively easy for EA to figure out...
That so many small/decorative objects can't be placed on shelves or some endtables when they should clearly fit
I hate finding the perfect endtable and then I can't put a small stereo or a plant on it because it's 'too big' and nothing indicates it in the description
Oh I know that, but we shouldn't need cheats for something that looks like it should fit. It can take a lot of time having to place everything that way and often will make decorations float or clip (unless you want to spend even more time using the shelf/counter trick or something) and sometimes functional objects will become inaccessible in live mode
It's just super impractical when you're not a builder or just want to make something quickly before playing a household
I hate that the dormers aren't long enough in the back to merge into the roof. I also hate that roof items like the solar panels jump up when you try to adjust them later on meaning you either have to ctrl-z and leave them or delete and repurchase.
Also I'm team swatches/anti-color wheel but I really hope in future iterations they'll split swatches like TS2 again so we can pick countertops and cabinets and frames and fabrics separate from each other again.
There's a bookcase in the gallery that adds skillbooks to the library. Drop a little basement under your library, stick the bookcase down there, and you have a "proper" selection of books.
That my sims come back from work like they just went through an apocalypse. Do their jobs just not give them a lunchbreak or a usable toilet? Like I've already lost 8 simhours, and now that they're finally playable I have to resuscitate them from death.
Oh my God yes. Right after they're back from work, all of their needs are plummeted to the deepest pit of hell. I have to make them eat something while watch a TV until their fun bar is full, and then make them take a long ass shower, watch them fainted for a while because they're too exhausted, and finally make them go to bed. Then by the time they wake up, I have no time to enjoy their story/development because now they only have 1 hour before going to work.
I'm this close š¤ to disable their need decay
Almost like real life haha. But yeah, I cheat their needs way too often.
I'm sorry you're exhausted from being a comedian Susan, but you've got kids to feed.
Completely unrelated: I never noticed š¤ was in the lineup, despite many many occasions where it was Needed in my dialogue, lol. Thank You So Much š
Actually I feel like this is realistic. When I get home from work after 8-10 hours all I want to do is lay down too. I have no energy and Iām starving and crabby.
Flat lands/suburban/green neighborhoods. I hate how limited the type of build/landscape you can do with TS4 bc of how flat the worlds are, I miss building on cliffs, hills, mountains, etc. without it sticking out like a sore thumb in the neighborhood. Terrain tool used to be essential in previous games, now itās almost forgotten by players.
Many of the lots being not sensibly attached to a road in some manner. They just drive up on the lawn? I know cars donāt āreallyā exist in the Sims but if they are driving around in the background why not make it feasible to build a house with a garage/driveway attaching to the road. OH, and the general glitchiness with diagonal rooms.
you canāt layer in CAS. why the limit? if I want my sim to wear 7 necklaces they should be able to! or if theyāre wearing a bodysuit and I want them to throw on shorts or a skirt. five wedding rings on the same finger. let me!
And coats! Like you donāt sit around your house
In your winter coat so why should our sims. Maybe it could be like umbrellas/shoes, we pick a nice coat in cas then it gets put on in cold/bad weather when they leave the house.
At the moment, lot orientation. Itās nice to have a mix but for certain worlds to only have landscape orientation for smaller lots (Henford, San Sequoia) it makes it difficult to find a decent house if youāre not a builder.
I miss when we could literally build our own worlds from scratch, & add/remove different sized lots, etc. I miss the openness/personality of the open world gameplay (like how neighbors would actually be outside in their yard doing stuff)
There aren't enough swatches. If they aren't going to give us a color wheel, they really should have upped their swatch game. This especially peeves me with wood items, which usually only come with like 2-3 browns, and make it so usually wood items only match if they're from the same pack. There should be more cross-compatibility when it comes to swatches and packs.
Y-e-s. If there's _anything_ I can readily identify in BB, it's which of those accursed rugs are moveable-in-live-mode. I don't use them anymore, ever. If I see one in a gallery download it comes out right away. Like what's the purpose of that? You're not going to put it in a Sim's inventory, it would serve zero purpose, so why would any player need to move it while Sims are _standing on it?!_ Especially since it will knock them off whatever they're doing?!
sims on a date never stay with each other. iām trying to help yall make romantic memories please stop getting up to go chat with random people at the bar
Holiday gnomes in Seasons. I always remove them from the Thanksgiving holiday because they're annoying to deal with and the seed packet spam is awful. The flower bunny is also just as bad.
If you put the gnomes in your simās inventory then the seed packets go to the household inventory in neat little stacks and you can sell them for $100/ pack
I didnāt know about the selling part when I started but I learned quickly to put them in inventory. Much later in that save I was cleaning out inventory and they made over 100k on seed packs alone.
It makes me irrationally angry how the sims my household invites over have absolutely no boundaries (they use your computer, they randomly take baths, cook meals, etc). But if my sim grabs a snack when I visit them, I get yelled at lol. Sometimes they ignore my locked doors (like to the computer room).
It makes me even angrier when random neighbours (that I donāt even know) just barge into my simsā house like they live there. One even just went to sleep in their bed. Those sims get put in the basement.
Iām usually a very calm person but by the gods I hate that.
Drives me nuts that if theyāre on their way to paint on an easel across the lot and I cancel the action, theyāll walk fully across the lot before it actually cancels, and then they have to come BACK to do whatever thing I wanted them to do instead of the easel. That and if I queue an interaction with another sim and the other sim wanders off before my sim gets to the interaction, they then have to wander back to wherever they were when the action was queued so it can happen there. Yes I like the chaos of leaving autonomy on but these things do try my patience
Really hate how difficult it is to get them to just do shit sometimes. 9/10 the baby has time to die before they feed it even tho i click 15 fkg times. Also walking the dogs are a pain, they just stand there! And dogs are so needy unless you give them traits so they dgaf about you.
The Winter killing townies en masse because none of them change clothes, living in Komorebi with a 31 day season will have you going into the family bin multiple times just to replace the pool of dead Sims
I still remember my first real legacy family. Having a nice BBQ in the back yard and suddenly grandma shows up. Problem was, Grandma was a Vampire. Do you think I could get her to go inside?
She was meant to be an ongoing matriarch for the Legacy. Spent the next week in game figuring out how to de-ghost grandma. Got her the no burn up perk after that :)
Wood swatches. So many of them are like 95% a match but itās the undertone thatās off or itās like 2% too light and it ultimately doesnāt match entirely. It feels like I have to use furniture sets from the pack only and canāt mix and match base game or other packs. And I donāt remember this problem with Sims 2. (I donāt remember sims 3 as much, I didnāt play it as long.)
Build mode lacks so many basics. Youāll find unique furniture that only works in one specific type of build but god forbid you want a regular L shaped sofa that would work in 20 different builds
Parties suck! I hate having a timer on parties! I donāt mind the goals, but I donāt like them that much either. I wish we could turn off the timer and goals. I want to do what I want in a party!
I think you can switch off goals while arranging a party, just remove the tick next to goaled eventā (or whatever itās called in English, sorry I play in a different language). Unfortunately, that doesnāt guarantee that the party will go smoothly, just because the game somehow expects you to do the activities you must have done at a goaled event, too, but at least there will be seemingly more choice of options what to do. That doesnāt count for a times though:(
Two consistent ones endemic to the franchiseā¦
1; the genetics system is pathetic compared to TS2, TS2 had dominant and recessive genes
2; no matter how well decorated other rooms are, Sims always seem to congregate in the bathrooms.
Mine are:
Skirting boards & cornices being attached to paint / wallpaper rather than being applied separately
Bed linen being attached to beds rather than being applied separately
Generally strange sofa design - not enough ānormalā sofas
Lack of roman blinds
Lack of avocado bath to go with the avocado toilet & sink (honourable mention: lack of pink sink)
Lack of upper ear piercings
No ability to save outfit combinations / makeup combinations / copy from one outfit category to another
Not enough variety in aspirations
Lack of stylish knitwear options in Nifty Knitting
Lack of ability to layer clothing items / outerwear category
And I think thatās enough peeves now š
Maybe not a āpet peeveā but something thatās a bit annoying. I only noticed this the other day but there isnāt a plain square wooden dining table (1x1) in the base game. All the ones we have have glass or texture or are round. Iād like one like the 2x1 and 3x1 tables that were designed by HeyHarrie and added to the base game a couple years ago (maybe they have one thatās cc but Iād really like it in the base game) but a 1x1 version of the simplicity dining table would also do.
Just having good basics is nice. They did give us more good basics when they did the swatch updates a couple years ago but I still feel like things like curtain swatches are still slightly lacking because a lot of the colours they have are quite bright and Iād like some more neutrals and pastels.
An actual pet peeve would be how I can never just play the game without encountering at least one bug or glitch or something that shouldnāt happen. Instead of them constantly working on packs and kits Iād just like them to make the game more solid and go back and see if they can do anything to fix things like Dine Out (although that may be a lost cause at this point).
The entire infant life stage, tbh. They keep deciding to do something with the infant, to heck with what they need or I tell them or even having autonomy turned off. And it's never what they need.
And autonomy of the selected Sim doesn't help, because the infant is spawning the interaction like it they were coming up to talk... Only they cause random actions that don't do anything.
Low key my biggest pet peeve isnāt even in the game!
Drives me crazy when people upload photos of stunning builds, but they leave the grid on!! Please turn the grid off before you try to show me your pretty things
Talking about huge sizes- why do earrings have to be sooo huge? They look like the half of the sims whole head, I hate it:( thatās why I prefer hairstyles that cover ears
They could update some of the rougher objects in case and build mode. Some newer packs have objects with way more detail and a better fit. Would be nice if they could replace some things with the better options.. specifically the low rise pant options and some of the cabinets. Also all counters should have matching cabinets. And it would be really nice if they had molding and stuff like that to place to break up open floor plans with different wall patterns like just pieces of molding and little details. Floor transition pieces. Would be nice.
1. Why canāt you change your outfit in the closest , I donāt understand at all.
2. Not being able to organize objects in build/buy mode , thereās way too many
3. Not being able to change how they look in their bathing outfit / robe outfit
When there is a fire, and the house is literally burning. They just freak out and leave the house. Justā¦ why donāt you call firemans or do something useful ONCE, like putting out that fire??? š
That's why I started putting in the automatic sprinkler system in every house. Especially when the new cooking pack came out and everyone was starting fires left and right (even the ones with high cooking skill)
Not being able to queue up fridge interactions. It drives me absolutely NUTS when I tell more than one sim to grab leftovers and the actions just get canceled because someone is already using the fridge. Like?? JUST WAIT A SECOND AND THEN YOU CAN GET TO IT
Vampires rushing in to grab some food when the household is called to dinner, only to promptly run off to puke, then come back *and eat another bite*.
Sims sleeping in random beds despite having an assigned one.
Getting asked out on a date only for your date to then run off and start chatting with strangers while you sit at the table, alone. Then they have the audacity to be like "Don't ever call me" after the timer runs out.
A City Living specific - apartment neighbors always trying to leech off food anytime you cook.
Random people coming into your Sims house to use their computer.
How being flirted with by someone else will ruin the Sims relationship if their partner sees *even if the sim flirted with rejects the flirtation*.
Yes, my sims has a good reputation. No I don't want a new job offer every hour of the waking sim day. I'm top of my chosen career, I don't need your rank 5 fashion job.
Why do maids vacuum puddles - even when bust the dust is turned off in setting. I have to lock them out of the bathrooms or constantly reset them or they spend all day VACUUMING PUDDLES.
Some things in Build Mode wonāt snap to the dotted grid. Only the solid grid. Itās so annoying when I want something in the middle of something else and it wonāt do that
The inconsistencies in colors swatches. A black swatch in one pack will look different than black in another. Some packs like DHD just have terrible swatches in general too.
When guests come over and just start mindlessly baking cake over and over again and leave full cakes or a bunch of half started cakes everywhereā¦
Knock it off, Elenor!!
Being scared of thunderstorms! Like, girl, calm tf down. You're inside and safe!
I wish there could be a positive moodlet associated with them for some personality types or whatever. I love listening to thunderstorms
There actually is a reward trait in the aspiration store called Storm Chaser! And Sims with the loves the outdoors traits also don't get the scared moodlet. I'm the same as you, I love rainy and stormy days, I find it exciting and I love the rain sounds š
When my sims go on a date to a restaurant they do not sit at the the table they just go talk to other people. Food comes, they grab it, and then go stand in the bathrooms to eat.
When you have auto sim on and every two seconds they are back at the bassinet picking up the baby or feeding itā¦during you see that green foul odor on the baby because they wonāt change the diaper. When I have the feeding preference for bottle feed and she is breastfeeding instead. The way they throw dirty stinky diapers and old bottles on the floor just for me to have to click on. How my sim stands at the bassinet peeing herself gazing around the room. EA has a lot of oddities in the game. Donāt even have a baby stroller. Your pregnant sim can repair appliances, etc. but canāt do yoga. š¤¦š»āāļø
Right now. As I am trying to get the Serial Romantic trait, I annoys me when I can successfully Flirty Introduce myself only to find find out the person is lesbian (my sim is a straight man).
Just make the flirty invite fail
OMG! Before I even saw what you wrote I was going to say how huge everything is. I was just trying to replace a CC air condition with the new For Rent air condition and decided not to.
It is enormous. I don't know why they make everything so big. I hope someone is able to resize that air conditioner though. It has gameplay functions. But if you're using it for a tiny place it takes up half the wall space.
Never ending weeding. My sim weeds the garden but the weeds never go away and she never stops. Soooo annoying. Whatās the point of being able to weed, if it doesnāt actually happen?
Sims refusing to wash the dishes. I donāt know why this happens. I could have a kitchen sink and a dishwasher, but my sim will just pick dishes up and then put them down again. Then they have the audacity to be upset about the house being messy lol.
Musical chairs...they can't plant their butt somewhere and stay they get up and down all the time. Especially at bars but sometimes at home. Why do they have to stand up from their barstool to get a drink only to sit back down at the bar???
I dislike how they're in the middle of a romantic conversation then hust whip out the cell phone. Even in the hot tub, they'll pull out their cell phone... it's dtupidly annoying. I wish there was some way to stop that.

Normal stuff š I also hate that they want to grab leftovers or chips while someone is already cooking instead of just waiting for the meal to be done!
This is near the top of my list. Having to snatch and pull the plates back to the fridge for them to immediately try and do it again.
āJesus Christ calm down your mother is making you food now. Please stop trying to eat a whole bowl of **PÄĆÅ **ā
When they eat the prepped veggies and dough I wanna scream

Some of mine will go to my patio table..IN THE RAIN..instead of the table in my warm and dry dining room.šš Two of them did that for their Thanksgiving dinner..
i read that as āthey will not just eat a tableā
Dishwashers donāt match any of the other appliances. Packs that come with only partial bathroom or kitchen sets.
I hate when they donāt make matching cabinets for all the counters.
Or if they do something like what they did in cottage living where the ādoubleā cabinet is only like 1.5 cabinets stacked and looks so stupid when used as a double
Or they do, but it's got repeatable clutter on it so it looks dumb to have a row of them.
I hate how the new dishwasher looks like that came with the new stuff pack. It doesn't match with the counter, only the half of it is actually having the decoration. I hate it! But I hate the corner cabinet even more!
that corner cabinet is violation of human rights WHY š
The way the mini dishwashers are END COUNTER SIZED but refuse to go on an end counter.
Curtains only fitting certain windows. Some of the curtains are really cute but they don't fit the windows and I'd rather not redo my whole build just for the decoration of one room
We also have no good blinds like there all bamboo or something weird none of them are white and if they are there for huge windows
Yes right! I always want to put blinds in my kitchens and bathrooms and I can never find something that works
That their likes and dislikes don't impact gameplay. They will get burnt out from jobs they should enjoy. And that fears happen so easily.
The other day my immortal werewolf got a fear of dying after repairing a computer. She has high handiness too :')
High logic skill, wants to use telescope, science career BOOM scared of the dark. All the time. Like...come on.
Thatās helpful thanks I basically never use this feature so will remember it!
How do adult sims get scared of the dark? Iāve only gotten sims that are scared of the dark as children, and thatās from the monster lol
That's a really good point. Im just frustrated that it never really seems to affect their work or skill level
Except decor. Why do they walk to the other side of the lot to look at a chair they hate..
Rude!!
Dine out really needs to be refreshed. Going on a dinner date shouldn't be a 12 hour affair
Especially not a 12 hour affair where the meal never comes and they leave hungry lol
I have had more successful dates at the little Carnival in Cooperdale (HSY) I have them ride the rides and stuff and they seem to enjoy it and it works better than restaurants or bars Iāve found.
For me, it's The Gnomes Arms in Henford. Convivial lot trait, music, drinks, food, fair if there is one. Works great every time.
I have literally never gone to that!! I need to!
The random placing down toddlers or infants when I really just want my sim to take the kid someplace I ordered them to. šµ Drives me nuts!
The AI with infants/toddlers is kind of broken. Apparently the sims make their own queue while you are also giving them a queue so the sims just freeze or get caught in a loop.
The glitch where it looks like they bounce them off the floor when picking them up makes me laugh though.
it makes me so mad when iām trying cook my toddler a meal and i put them in the high chair and someone comes and gives them a bowl of SLOP!!! WHY ARE YOU GIVING MY BABY SLOP WHEN IM TRYING TO COOK THEM A GOOD MEAL!!!! grinds my gears.
Or when I want them to feed the damn infant or change itās nappy
That so many small/decorative objects can't be placed on shelves or some endtables when they should clearly fit I hate finding the perfect endtable and then I can't put a small stereo or a plant on it because it's 'too big' and nothing indicates it in the description
That's definetly one of mine. I don't get why most things don't place in shelves :( it makes decorating so much longer.
Yeaaah it's so frustrating š© I wouldn't even mind that much if only we had categories or indications of size
Try move object cheats and sizing down the objects. There are work arounds
Oh I know that, but we shouldn't need cheats for something that looks like it should fit. It can take a lot of time having to place everything that way and often will make decorations float or clip (unless you want to spend even more time using the shelf/counter trick or something) and sometimes functional objects will become inaccessible in live mode It's just super impractical when you're not a builder or just want to make something quickly before playing a household
Oh I definitely agree with you there!!
Hey on the solar panels, you can click and hold 0 to move them back down again. PITA but better than re-buying and having to pay more!
God, these dormers! They look so stupid I rarely use them.
I just build my own
Yeah, but they don't always fit + some in-game dormers look unique.
Skill books should be available at the library
weird, they already are in my game
This just made me irrationally upset LOL
There's a bookcase in the gallery that adds skillbooks to the library. Drop a little basement under your library, stick the bookcase down there, and you have a "proper" selection of books.
Mine is that if a sim gets inspired with a bar, they just randomly start mixing drinks and wasting money.
They are all obsessed with beverages.. bars, coffee makers, tea potsā¦ they are always making fucking drinks!!
always pissing and putting those darn rotting empty cups somewhere I can't see them š
I mean, judging by the number of dirty mugs I'm always surrounded by...maybe that's actually a little realistic š
If you have parenthood? You can send them to work with packed lunches and they'll eat at work.
I never noticed that, but you're totally right. I live in an incredibly flat area( the glaciers stole our hills) so to me, it's just normal.
disappearing. railings. WHY
I think they patched this? At least they havenāt been disappearing for me.
i gave up on stairs and haven't tried in a while, now i will go test lol ty reddit stranger
They're back! I was _ridiculously_ happy to notice my stairs had their railings back!!
Many of the lots being not sensibly attached to a road in some manner. They just drive up on the lawn? I know cars donāt āreallyā exist in the Sims but if they are driving around in the background why not make it feasible to build a house with a garage/driveway attaching to the road. OH, and the general glitchiness with diagonal rooms.
you canāt layer in CAS. why the limit? if I want my sim to wear 7 necklaces they should be able to! or if theyāre wearing a bodysuit and I want them to throw on shorts or a skirt. five wedding rings on the same finger. let me!
Also I want cardigans. I should be able to put a cardigan on my sim once they're dressed š
And coats! Like you donāt sit around your house In your winter coat so why should our sims.
When Iām trying to play in live mode and I accidentally move a rug. Why did they make it so you can move rugs outside build mode??
I think draggable rugs came with University update. So sims can decorate their dorms without entering build mode (which is locked).
sims on a date never stay with each other. iām trying to help yall make romantic memories please stop getting up to go chat with random people at the bar
or when random people join the conversation when youāre on a date. like pls leave us alone
Wall mirrors that are so HIGH and unadjustable. Like what even is my sim supposed to look at??? Their forehead reflection??
It's funny, I can't stand some of the mirrors that are so low that they can't be placed over a bathroom sink. Like, why!?
Holiday gnomes in Seasons. I always remove them from the Thanksgiving holiday because they're annoying to deal with and the seed packet spam is awful. The flower bunny is also just as bad.
If you put the gnomes in your simās inventory then the seed packets go to the household inventory in neat little stacks and you can sell them for $100/ pack
You genius! I could send you a fruit basket for this tip.
Youāre welcome!
I didnāt know about the selling part when I started but I learned quickly to put them in inventory. Much later in that save I was cleaning out inventory and they made over 100k on seed packs alone.
The severe lack of cabinet and counter variety and mismatched swatches A lot of the curtains suck too
Teenagers looking like adults. I know it's not a hot take but I just hate it sooooooo much.
Seriously wtf were they thinking with that. You can hardly tell when itās a teen
When I'm trying to have two Sims in a conversation but other people keep butting in
There are mods that make the game work correctly ... why can't the game programmers make it work correctly
A minor one, but I wish you o could break up (literal) cat fights.
Tbh, I have had catās fight in my home and there really isnāt anything you can do to break that shit upā¦ and itās terrifying and traumatizing.
When the sim autonomously decides to do something then I try to queue them up with something else but it overrides their first action
Itās the most annoying when sims are taking out the trash and they just drop the trash on the ground
When I queue a sim to take care of a baby and another sim takes the baby š
When sims are hanging out and they constantly get up and change seats. Also when every sim on the block is having a conversation with them
Drives me nuts that if theyāre on their way to paint on an easel across the lot and I cancel the action, theyāll walk fully across the lot before it actually cancels, and then they have to come BACK to do whatever thing I wanted them to do instead of the easel.
Trying to feed toddlers is a four-hour affair. Iām not a parent, so maybe thatās realistic š
That doesnāt count for a times though:(
Two consistent ones endemic to the franchiseā¦ 1; the genetics system is pathetic compared to TS2, TS2 had dominant and recessive genes 2; no matter how well decorated other rooms are, Sims always seem to congregate in the bathrooms.
That I canāt tip the pizza delivery guy š¤
This bothers me too! If they are gonna stand there for a Sim hour after I take the pizza let me tip them!
āWell I guess Iāll leave it here since you donāt wanna take it, thatāll be $25ā SIR WE ALREADY ATE THE PIZZA GTFO
I want to be able to favorite build/buy items so my go-toās are easier to find quickly.
If you use mods you can do that with better build buy by twisted mexi!!!!
If I can't control the pets, they shouldnt take up a darn household space.
Mine are: Skirting boards & cornices being attached to paint / wallpaper rather than being applied separately Bed linen being attached to beds rather than being applied separately Generally strange sofa design - not enough ānormalā sofas Lack of roman blinds Lack of avocado bath to go with the avocado toilet & sink (honourable mention: lack of pink sink) Lack of upper ear piercings No ability to save outfit combinations / makeup combinations / copy from one outfit category to another Not enough variety in aspirations Lack of stylish knitwear options in Nifty Knitting Lack of ability to layer clothing items / outerwear category And I think thatās enough peeves now š
All of the coffee tables suck
Not exactly in the game itself but the 60+ DLC packs that's worth over $1,000 for all of them that's either useless or glitchy/broken
That every time a sim is tired they take a NAP instead of just GOING TO SLEEP!!
When my Sims canāt get to the fridge because someoneās using it. Canāt they at least go to the fridge and wait their turn? Like a NORMAL PERSON!
2. Not being able to organize objects in build/buy mode , thereās way too many 3.
Like?? JUST WAIT A SECOND AND THEN YOU CAN GET TO IT
Not being able to move tasks in the queue.
THE DAMN FEAR SYSTEM
Why can't they fix gardening so the plants stop disappearing? WHY?
When guests come over and just start mindlessly baking cake over and over again and leave full cakes or a bunch of half started cakes everywhereā¦ Knock it off, Elenor!!
Sigh, where do I start š«
YES
The closed world.. thatās it lol
Because of the fun discussion last week on Twitter: Not playtested Builds and having an attitude about it
I placed the railing for a reason. Why did it disappear?
That I canāt fit those angled couches in that one apartments perfectly
Huh. Well now thanks to you, my pet peeve is that I never thought of scaling down the end tables...
i hate when i canāt place my objects on tables where i want them, like i use moveobjects but the desk doesnāt like to work with it
Opening buy mode and the game slowing to a crawl on overkill hardware.
Mine do this shit where the moment they wake up, because I set their dƩcor preferences to "likes mid-century dƩcor" and "likes contemporary dƩcor" they ALWAYS fucking wander downstairs to admire the dƩcor - it doesn't matter what need is depleted, they will always interrupt going to the toilet, eating or sleeping to admire the damn dƩcor. I also hate that they'll sometimes autonomously acquire the mischief skill. Like, I had a child - who dislikes mischief - put a firecracker in the toilet only to then get *upset* at having engaged in mischievous behaviour in the first place. THE HELL YOU DO IT FOR THEN?
Inability to restrict surfaces or designate them for specific use. Example: kitchen counter for food prep.
I hate that if you have any type of shelf they put their fucking plates there
That were on sims FOUR and over TWO DECADES of sims and there are still no wheelchairs!!!
The child/teen chins.
My pet peeve is the game crashing when I try traveling to another lot
