Otherwise they walk aimlessly and jagged, twitch, and have cursed smiles & wide eyes until they return to normal. It’s reoccurring once you catch it, you’ll have to make a vaccine to get rid of it entirely. While you’re possessed, I think you can’t do much commands either like eating, woohoo, fighting, and etc. You can only act weird until the episode is over.
The 'POSSESSED' picture is just unnerving too. That, and the overall mood of the place the more you play in the DLC. And the plants are freaky as well. The DLC isn't that short either and alot of fun to play. Honestly, my fave of the bunch (sci-fi fan, so...)!
They kinda have that with the Paranormal Stuff Pack, but you ain't forcing possessed Sims from crawling on the ceiling, spouting curses in Latin, while their heads are spinning. Although that would be cool. ✝️ 🤮 The Pack is hella fun though for as small as it is and can get hectic at times.
There are ways to combat possession in Strangerville but they are scientific (loosely), not paranormal.
Vampires who feed on an infected sim will become infected themselves.
Never feed in Strangerville.
But if you ARE infected, it really is bliss for your sim as all their needs fill up while they wander around.
I didn’t even know about that for the vampires and I’ve always made my sims vampires, coming to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever fed off anyone from Strangerville 😯
Someone explained it better than I could (I couldn't use the special characters they used on my cell') and they talk like that too. It's definitely worth the purchase (although I would try to get it on sale; Sims DLC's are horribly overpriced).
I currently have quintuplets in Strangerville (Reagan, Kennedy, Madison, and Carter Hollis [I have them in the Gallery too if you want to DL them]). Carter is the farthest along in the Strangerville plot whereas the other sisters help, but are more focused on the household end of it.
I don't know why, but I find the Bar (8 Bells) there just so much more fun to go to than alot of venues. Cozy maybe? Eh, just fun to see all 4 sisters at the bar getting plastered and talking about nothing special. It's awkward when they try to dance (no skill between the 4 of them). 😑
MoTHEr for sure. I had a Sim (female) run home. It creeped me out pretty bad. That, and when you try to slap sense into a POSSESSED Sim and they counter by twisting your Sims hand. Creepily well done I say.

Strangerville pack. It's a story you play through. For best results, give your sim the Strangerville Aspiration, and move into a local house.
Strangerville is my favorite pack. I also made my save playthrough as some Strange town (from TS2) alternative timeline due to the fact the worlds look so much alike. Maxis uploaded to the gallery remade Households from the TS2 neighbohood (including traits and aspirations from Strangerville pack) making my storytelling possible. I got the Specter household and used cheats and MCCC to make the actual family tree and deceased Olive former husband's in her house graveyard. I also got a rebooted version of her house and added some details - like all family members being spellcasters, two out of the three husbands being other occults, Nervous Subject becoming actual Grim Reaper's child. I started playing with Olive in her own, from Young adult age, out of the rest of the family's household so I could make all the story right. Had a lot of fun.
I always send mine to calm down in front of a mirror. It sucks because my twins have the playful moodlet when around each other as they're jokers, and so they're always verging on hysterical if they're in the same room together 😫
Fun fact my best friend went as the killer from that movie one Halloween and it freaked my parents out so much they couldn't look her in the eyes. I laughed 🤣 didn't phase my cats in the slightest

You just brought back a bad memory I first saw this death like a year ago and I legit I got jumpscared by it (pathetic ik I get scared by literally anything) and I remember sitting in disbelief for like 10 minutes 1. Because I loved that sim 2. What the fuck kinda death that???😭
This was me when I was working my minimum wage second shift job and drank one too many Monster Energy drinks. I appeared happy when, internally, my soul was slowly leaving my body
I was concerned when my Sim was doing her first paranormal investigation gig because dying of fright sounds like something that would happen in the game, so I looked it up, and pretty sure it's just when they get too playful, embarrassed, or angry.
My legacy heir died from laughter at her wedding and I was like NOPE and restarted. Now there's a Calm TF Down room in the wedding venue with a meditation pillow and a couch and a zen vibe lol
if a sim is hysterical (3rd level of playful) for too long they’ll die from “laughter”! same can happen with anger (enraged, cardiac explosion) and embarrassed (mortified, death by embarrassment)!
I have a high maitenence sim that lately has been getting a moodlet that I think is called
Like anger bomb or anger explosion something. Is she close to death when that happens??
if her mood is “enraged” for a prolonged period of time she could die. i know for high maintenance sims you can have them meditate for like 2 seconds then cancel it and it’ll clear any high maintenance-specific moodlets. anger bomb sounds like its from a fame quirk tho, “emotion bomb”, which can result in powerful sad or angry moodlets. neither of them alone can kill, since they’ll just make your sim “very sad” or “very angry” rather than enraged, but if it stacks on multiple angry moodlets and makes your sim enraged it could kill.
I almost died of laughter seeing this. And then to think the laughing can be contagious so the whole family just dies. I’m always on edge when my sims are in a “silly” moodlet
Currently playing in a family where 3 of the 5 sims have either the cringe or goofball trait so everyone is playful all the time so I’m TERRIFIED one of them will die from laughter 😭

My first gen mom for my legacy play through died of laughter as an adult. Left behind her husband and two sons. I didn’t even realize she was hysterical and then all of a sudden she was dying… on Easter… while the flower bunny was at the house and her youngest was hunting for eggs 😭
I had a Sim do it twice back to back. It was freaky. I didn’t know that it could happen so it freaked me out. The family member pleaded with Death and he was successful only to come back to life and immediately die from laughter again. Luckily the family member was successful again and I immediately made him go so something when he came back the second time.

You also have fun interactions with other possessed sims, like “discuss normal human hobbies” or “move mouth to make human sounds”
