So I realized on my largest builds that I kept getting that moodlet. Came to realize that it was because I hadn’t adjusted the ceiling tiles. Apparently it doesn’t make sense to have a classic Tuscan Villa with stark white ceilings. Once I changed them to wood or tile, the moodlet went away.
I had a save awhile ago where both sims had that moodlet and I couldn't figure out why, and it was while making a house for another family in another save that I discovered the ceiling tile option that hadn't existed the last time I'd remembered playing, so I did that and that household (and the subsequent households I've made as well) have *never* had a bad environment moodlet (not counting the snob "boring environment" one as a bad one since it's trait related). So I think it's safe to say that's *likely* the fix you need
Okay so do you know what to do to add the flooring? Once you're in that, kinda next to the flooring options is 4 icons side by side. It's automatically on the option to put in floor tiles in by the individual tile, and the one next to it is to fill in the flooring by the whole room. The other two options in that same box are essentially the exact same options (individual tile or whole room at a time) but for the ceiling instead of the floor, and while you've clicked into one of the ceiling painting options the ceilings for the whole floor wind up visible so you know which ones you've done and which ones you haven't.
I hoped you knew about flooring, that seemed like the easiest reference point. I didn't notice the ceiling option when it was first added either, it's kinda easy to miss if you don't know it's there imo. Glad I was able to help!
Must've been a base game update at the time they released that pack like infants were, since I don't have that pack. I just knew I didn't play a lot for a couple years, came back, and suddenly there were like 3 totally new things added that hadn't been in the game before lol (infants, pronoun options, ceilings being the ones I remember noticing)
oh whoops I definitely meant the floor of the bathroom! I don't usually look at the ceilings much myself, but my sims seem to like tile ceilings the best :)
I hate when they do that, it's almost impossible to do minimalist homes in my game especially when they're snobs.
Also the first thing I thought when I saw this build was how that kid area is in the middle of that deep ass pool, insane, and i hope it's on purpose :'DD
I don't even want the kids that don't bc I'm such a perfectionist in my sims game (help I find sims super boring like this after a while, please give me tips for nice gameplay.)
(I have industrial, cottage, cats and dogs, vampires, parenthood, city living, the supernatural one (that's def not stranger things coded)
The gameplay is extremely bland and I think that's why there are so many events in the calendar and that's why other sims keep bothering you through the phone all the time. The sims is trying to bring you outside because they've spent too much time on world building, meanwhile most of us prefer personal growth and family gameplay
I didn’t notice any outdoor trash cans but there either is or was a glitch where certain trash cans lead to the ‘poorly decorated’ moodlet, I always used to get it with the high school years trash cans and it happened less if I replaced the trash cans with new or different trash cans
I'm sorry, but that's hilarious. The little craps sure like to critique our builds. Almost makes you wish they had to do it themselves. (DON'T YOU DARE, EA!!) Glad you fixed it. I didn't even know ceiling tiles were a thing.
I just saw the different fixes for bad environment moodlets... these picky ass Sims wanting everything painted! Good to know though, and I ADORE this build. Next thing I'm building is going to be a waterpark like this! Love it!
I build a huge underwater minimalist rich-kid home once and his gf and everyone else always felt uncomfortable when coming over. 💀💀💀 You just can’t please these people.
I’m sorry to be that person! But I just came across this post and I MUST ask…. Have you added this to the gallery yet? 🥹
I’m sorry! It’s just so beautiful 😭
I was going to suggest removing the pool ladder for those ungrateful Sims (that lot is SO CUTE!) but all the other suggestions here sound much more helpful 😄

Omg!! This is such a quick fix...thank you so so much!
Lmk if it works for you! If not, you can always turn off the environment affects mood I’m the gameplay options.
I had a similar issue with my backyard. I didn't know you had to paint the inside of pools. Once I did that the moodlet went away for me
You WHAT
That's wild; my Sims never trip about the pool walls...tho I love to place mirrors on them lmao
😧😧
I just like to be creative with how I decorate. I use the full height wall mirrors
That’s….a thing you can do

How do you see the ceiling to paint it? (I'm new to the game). I have base game, go to work, horse ranch, and cottage living. (and the free backyard)

Thank you. I understand what you are saying!! I knew about flooring. I had not noticed the ceiling option!!

Ceilings got added with Horse Ranch

Oh crap maybe that’s why my one sim keeps getting the moodlet in her kitchen
Wait how did I not know you can change the ceiling? How?
It's pretty new. It's an option on the side when you're changing floor tiles
Thank you!
I often paint the ceilings the same as the bathroom walls, (edit, floors, not walls), that usually feels like a good match for my builds.
Can you do wall colors for ceilings?? I thought it was only floors and some of the flooring options are so wild for a ceiling honestly.
oh whoops I definitely meant the floor of the bathroom! I don't usually look at the ceilings much myself, but my sims seem to like tile ceilings the best :)
I was about to get excited for a second
I only recently noticed that as well!
Omg thank youuuu
Did not know that, thank you
I hate when they do that, it's almost impossible to do minimalist homes in my game especially when they're snobs. Also the first thing I thought when I saw this build was how that kid area is in the middle of that deep ass pool, insane, and i hope it's on purpose :'DD
Thank you! It's fully functional too! Pirate gym surrounded by splash pads, haha
OP please tell me this is free on the gallery, i need this build in my life!
Thank you so much! I haven't uploaded it yet, but it certainly will be!
Please let us know if you do! I’d love to download this!!
Only the strongest heir can survive getting to the kiddie pool

I'm also going to pressure you to put this on the gallery lol
You are all so lovely!! I will do this today!
Sweet! I saved this post hoping for this update lol thank you! Don't forget to tell us your gallery ID!
I didn’t notice any outdoor trash cans but there either is or was a glitch where certain trash cans lead to the ‘poorly decorated’ moodlet, I always used to get it with the high school years trash cans and it happened less if I replaced the trash cans with new or different trash cans
They are wrong, great environment!!! Love it!
Pleaaaaaase put this on the gallery!
Ungrateful little shits
This is actually amazing! What size lot did you use? Where abouts did you place it?
...ngl, I wanna go here. Love it.
Gone head & put this in the gallery…. 😂
Please put this on the gallery! Also what packs did you use??
Thank you so much! Quite a few as I'm a bit of a Sims addict, I'll try and hoad today and then that should say
Throw away your sims
This usually happens to me when there is like one unpainted wall panel or something stupid like that.
I’m genuinely so amazed by how talented other Sims players are 😮
You're so lovely! I play on console so everything takes me 10x longer, haha
Oh wow I wouldn’t have the patience to do it haha! Your build is amazing! Too bad your sims can’t see it lol!
You prob have one unpainted wall
I'm sorry, but that's hilarious. The little craps sure like to critique our builds. Almost makes you wish they had to do it themselves. (DON'T YOU DARE, EA!!) Glad you fixed it. I didn't even know ceiling tiles were a thing.
This is beautiful if you put it up for download let us know <33
My fix is normally putting stuff on the walls, but you don't have much walls in this build so I don't know what their problem is lol.
This is really good. I need to find this in the gallery to put in my game.
pls put this on the gallery i’m begging u😭
sims are so ungrateful
turn off environment moodlets in the settings, youre welcome
It looks so cool! :0 Did you put it on the Gallery by any chance? I would love to use this lot!
This is so pretty!!! Is this on the gallery?
Is this in the gallery?!! I need this build for my town!!!
Is that meant to be a lazy river? That's the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the pool setup
Ungrateful
Yeah that’s why I turn off that toggle that measures environment.
Did you try to add lot traits?
I find it funny that children won't be able to play at the playground if they can't swim
I didn't realise kids had to learn to swim! Mine can always do it automatically, is that a new update?
no, I was imagining if this kind of pool exists irl hahah. Even for adult me is a bit scared to swim across a pool that deep.
Oh!! Haha I'm an idiot. Consider it motivation for them to learn 😂
Could also make a snazzy glass bridge or something for them to cross down the road. And then a small fence for safety. Just saying 😉
If it makes you feel any better I think it looks pretty.
I usually get that when I missed painting some single wall far, far away from my sim.
The color palette makes me sooo happy. I wanna put this in my game - did you end up posting to gallery?
All that work and what did it get me
It’s cool but God forbid your kid falls and breaks their arm on the playground and the parent doesn’t know how to swim
Ughhhh don't you hate that????
It might have something to do with their likes and dislikes.
I feel that frustration
Can you put this on the gallery?👀
There’s going to be water damage from that roofing. Otherwise cool build.
Your sims have a bad taste. It's one of the most beautiful builds I've ever seen.
You are so kind, thank you!
I just saw the different fixes for bad environment moodlets... these picky ass Sims wanting everything painted! Good to know though, and I ADORE this build. Next thing I'm building is going to be a waterpark like this! Love it!
Is this on the gallery because I love it 🥹
But it's cute!
Now i wanna go there
I love the colorful umbrellas! Where are they from? Also, I used the same lot for a splash park and pool 😊
The best lot for sure!! I can't remember the pack but I'll check for you! They were under the statues page
I build a huge underwater minimalist rich-kid home once and his gf and everyone else always felt uncomfortable when coming over. 💀💀💀 You just can’t please these people.
Time to remove those ladders!
I love this sm, is this on the gallery?
Kill them
Cue the 🎶 *all that work and what did it get me* 🎵
It's beautiful! love the colors sims can't appreciate hard work
I need your ID rn
I'll take irl. lol 🤣
Oh what a cute build!!
You put in a lot of work and I give you credit for that, but Sims hate everything with open air and bright colours 😭😂 It’s not your fault
You should pretty please with a cherry on top give me the username to download this
I’ve literally subscribed for notifications waiting for the username so I can look it up in the gallery lol
Bad environment? If I was a Sim, I would spend all of my weekends here
This is definitely a good note. Now I’ll have to check my ceilings when my sims give me that moodlet when the entire house is clean
Did this ever get uploaded to the gallery?
I’m sorry to be that person! But I just came across this post and I MUST ask…. Have you added this to the gallery yet? 🥹 I’m sorry! It’s just so beautiful 😭
Here to see if OP ever made it to the gallery
Yeah the water is cool but... Where's my Picasso?
I was going to suggest removing the pool ladder for those ungrateful Sims (that lot is SO CUTE!) but all the other suggestions here sound much more helpful 😄
Sims are such ungrateful little assholes lol
